No promises on a timeline though.

that id love to see

I originally wanted to make a compatibility patch for Ancient Religions Reborn, but it turns out that mod has more content than I originally expected. I'm currently considering simply implementing my own take on Celtic and Egyptian religion instead.
Dragatus  [author] 13 May @ 8:35pm
No, it's not. I wrote in the compatibility section that it modifies religions and is incompatible with other mods that also modify religions.
Nuggz 13 May @ 5:35pm
fun fact: it is in fact NOT compatible with Ancient Religions Reborn
Nuggz 13 May @ 3:59pm
so would this be compatible with something, like say, the Ancient Religions Reborn mod?
Dragatus  [author] 12 May @ 8:38pm
Not yet. The idea behind the test version as a manual download was to test it and look for bugs, so I don't accidentally mess up the main version here on Steam. It should've been updated by now, but I got sidetracked.
Nuggz 12 May @ 3:52pm
wait so, the version here on steam isnt updated?
Dragatus  [author] 5 Apr @ 7:35am
Not that I'm aware of. It might technically be possible to do it through events, but it would have to be tightly controlled and you wouldn't be able to freely mix and match like you do with pagan reformation.
Behnampool 4 Apr @ 6:00pm
Is there any mods that allow you to reform non pagan religions
ecnahc1 18 Mar @ 8:06pm
Sounds great! :llama:
Dragatus  [author] 16 Mar @ 6:35am
The test version contains all the new unique doctrines, Divine Truth, Sacred Lies, Charity and the updates to Holy Warriors, Free Love, Unyielding and Animistic. I'd be grateful to anyone willing to test it out and report bugs.
Dragatus  [author] 16 Mar @ 6:30am
Dragatus  [author] 15 Mar @ 1:54am
Also note that Animistic now gives +50% morale in home counties and Unyielding was changed to give +50% defense instead of +100% morale. The two now make a strong combo and Soumensko gets to combine it in Survivors of Ukko.

Also worth noting is that Swords of the Sun differs from Holy Warriors in that the piety retinues don't change with the terrain of your capital, but are fixed to be Heavy Infantry and Heavy Cavalry so that they'll benefit from the Warrior Elite bonus.
Dragatus  [author] 15 Mar @ 1:51am
I'm 70% done with the unique doctrines.

Germanic:
- Sons of Ragnarok: Daring + Sea-Bound
- Call of Valhalla: Unrelenting + Warmongering
Tengri:
- Eternal Riders: Ancestor Venerations + Horse Cult
- Wrath of the Steppe: Animistic + Warmongering
Romuva:
- Defenders of Dievas: Unyielding + Unity
- Sacred Dainos: Ancestor Veneration + Animistic
Slavic:
- Children of Perun: Animistic + Joy of Life
- Guardians of Zemlya: Ancestor Veneration + Unyielding
Soumensko:
- Survivors of Ukko: Animistic + Unyielding
- Tribes of Kalevala: Ancestor Veneration + Kinship
African:
- Totem-Guardians: Animistic + Populism
- Wisdom of Africa: Ancestor Veneration + Syncretism
Zunist:
- Cosmopolitan: Stability + Syncretism
- Swords of the Sun: Holy Warriors + Warrior Elite

@ecnahc1 Thanks.

I'm pushing back the release of the update to April to give me more time to implement everything I want and to test it better.

The biggest ambition is to get rid of "built-in" doctrines because those are confusing and not documented in-game and to instead give each pagan religion a choice between two unique doctrines, which will each provide a combination of two features that the unreformed religion has.

For example Germanic will be able to choose between Sons of Ragnarok (Sea-Bound + Daring) and Call of Valhalla (Warmongering + Unrelenting).

I already updated Holy Warriors so that all the retinues have a fixed cost of 100 Piety and the doctrine will also unlock a temple building that provides additional troops. At level 4 (max) it will provide an extra 180 LI, 180 AR and 180 HI on top of the 420 of each that a temple can normally provide.

based comeback
Dragatus  [author] 2 Mar @ 6:17am
I am back working on the mod and if everything goes according to plan I'll release the update either the last weekend of March or the first weekend of April. The update so far should play nice with updating in the middle of a game in progress, but it's always better to be safe than sorry and that should give you time to finish your current games.

So far I worked on improving Free Love and adding two new doctrines, Divine Truth and Sacred Lies:
- Free Love now removes all opinion penalties from infidelity and producing bastards and pregnant women always reveal the true father of their unborn child. The decision to become Lustful will also be removed and replaced with a more organic event based method to make followers Lustful.
- Divine Truth unlocks an ambition which triggers events that will make you Honest, Just and Diligent.
- Sacred Lies unlocks an ambition which triggers events that make you Deceitful, Groomed and Shrewd.

The benefits of Sea-Bound should be built into the reformed Germanic and the doctrine isn't supposed to show up on the list.
Galas 31 Aug, 2024 @ 8:44am
Hi! I know you are not updating this mod anymore but is basically the best reformation rework out there.

When I reform all other pagan religions the "free" unreformed doctrine cannot be chose as expected, but with norse I can chose Sea-Bound. Is this a bug? Does the germanic get it for free even if I don't chose it after reformation, or do I need to chose it unlike the other free inherited doctrines?
Shifter-- ツ 15 Jan, 2024 @ 4:34pm
Ok, maybe i can figure it out. Thanks for answering :steamhappy:
Dragatus  [author] 15 Jan, 2024 @ 11:04am
Sorry, it's not as simple as just changing a single line of code. It's not super complex either though, but it's literally been years since I messed with it and I can't tell you exactly what needs to be done from memory alone.
Shifter-- ツ 12 Jan, 2024 @ 6:40am
Is there any way to increase Doctrine slots? I saw a mod that does it, but apparently its not compatible with this mod. Is there like a line of code i can change, or is it like really complex to add more doctrine slots?
petdoc1991 7 Jan, 2024 @ 12:20am
Thank you! It is really great work :)
Dragatus  [author] 6 Jan, 2024 @ 10:53pm
If you give me credit and provide a link to the original, you can incorporate it.
petdoc1991 6 Jan, 2024 @ 5:39pm
Hello! This is a great mod. Would you mind if i incorporated it in my mod?
Dragatus  [author] 6 Jan, 2024 @ 12:34am
I agree. Unfortunately the reform system only shows up in the game's interface for pagan religions (and randomized religions) and I never found a way to change that by editing the game's files. I suspect it requires access to the code and changing the executable itself, which is beyond my skill level.
georgiaboy4 4 Jan, 2024 @ 11:41am
Thank you! Would be interesting to have reformed religions reform again like the Anglican church or Lutheranism...
Dragatus  [author] 4 Jan, 2024 @ 11:03am
Normally the mod is strictly for pagan religions. But if you play a random map with random religions I'm fairly sure it applies to all religions.
georgiaboy4 2 Jan, 2024 @ 8:40pm
Is there an option for a council event to reform a christian religion...or is this mod strictly for pagan religions? Thanks!
Dragatus  [author] 3 Dec, 2023 @ 8:35pm
It should be me thanking you for making the effort of sustaining my mod.
djvandebrake 3 Dec, 2023 @ 11:22am
Thank you!
Dragatus  [author] 3 Dec, 2023 @ 12:20am
You are welcome to do so.
djvandebrake 2 Dec, 2023 @ 1:43pm
Can't message you directly, but it looks like you still respond here... Given that you don't mod for CK2 anymore, would you mind if I developed some of your mods (especially this one) to work with CleanSlate and CK2+? I would, of course, give you credit for the originals here.
Dragatus  [author] 19 Jul, 2023 @ 1:25pm
Religion mods don't play nice with each other in general, because they all have to edit the same file.
a smeghead 19 Jul, 2023 @ 8:41am
Well bollocks, thanks nonetheless Dragatus
Dragatus  [author] 18 Jul, 2023 @ 5:50am
Almost certainly. Reformation Reform is incompatible with other religion mods.
a smeghead 17 Jul, 2023 @ 3:15pm
my game CTD's on highlighting the "uncertain" doctrines on the reformation screen. Could it be an incompatibility with Ancient Religions Reborn and Expanded? i don't have any other mods that affect reformation
Bonbon 25 Mar, 2023 @ 5:25am
Is it just me or does this mod remove duke level theocracies ?
And also is it possible to remove the religious community government by editing the mod somehow ?
KrS 22 Aug, 2022 @ 7:55am
Too bad, you were doing great.
Dragatus  [author] 22 Aug, 2022 @ 5:25am
Thank you for the kind offer, but I stopped modding CK2 a couple years ago.
KrS 21 Aug, 2022 @ 11:53pm
If you're still in search of a french translator, just say the word.
Would be my pleasure.
Dragatus  [author] 18 Jun, 2021 @ 1:23pm
No. I'm also done modding CK2 and just got very busy IRL so making a variant mod that just adds the doctrines is not an option. Sorry.
TurtleShroom 18 Jun, 2021 @ 10:53am
Do you have a version that adds JUST the doctrines?
Dragatus  [author] 14 Mar, 2021 @ 10:34am
Ah, that would do it, yes. And no problem. It was my pleasure.
worldmerger 14 Mar, 2021 @ 10:12am
Ahh, i had a mod that gave me more reformation slots. I thought i uninstalled said mod but it was still enabled. Thank you again for the speedy responses, and thank you for a great mod.
worldmerger 14 Mar, 2021 @ 10:09am
i don't believe so, no overhauls, no other reformation mods. I'm going to do some mod configuration. See if i can identity the problem.
Dragatus  [author] 14 Mar, 2021 @ 9:28am
That's strange. I tried reproducing the bug, but everything worked fine on my end. Are you using any other mods that might affect reformation?
