In orbit of one planet, I get just 130pu from the station. In orbit of another roughly the same distance from the star, I get about 2.5kpu, and orbit of another closer to the star, I get 4.5kpu. A LOT. Thing is, on the planet surface, all planets give about the same amount of solar at peak, depending on what your latitude is. That, to me, is a bug. If orbit is contingent on distance from sun, so too should the planet's surface be. And, the 130pu... there must be another variable I cannot find, since that's very low, and not consistent in similar orbits.
I was thinking of trying to cut the front off in creative and see about expanding it as an experiment. Yeah, heat and radiation from the warp core are an issue. It's already a "hot" CV ;-). Thing is... an SV could do this, too, I think. The purpose of a CV, I should think, would be the longer warp capability, more than anything else. Or is there a cargo issue with total overall cargo? Oh... and the block size wouldn't line up, would it?
Oh, I aligned this perfect to the sun but am getting lousy solar... 130PU. Not the 2.57Kpu I get from your other station. Is it just the planetary system I'm in? Sun looks blue there...
For me these are way to big in SP. Your class I Cv was fantastic! Hmmm How about class 2 space base??? Mahalo

I will give it a go in creative...to be fair...I do use auto-break, which means you do have to spend forever moving the Ship...plus unless/until you get smaller RCS Gear, I doubt most people will bother with the more realistic Control Set-up...but yes...anyways..I will post whatever I make it Screen-shots and Link it in comments, if that's alright....no idea on time-scale and if anyone aelse cares about this but for me, I would...at the very least, like to give it a go.
Anyways, I apologise for the long and multiple comments but I needed to cover all Bases...which i feel I have done..

I am/was spit-balling more than anything...I totally get it is unlikely...all I feel is that, most of the time people waste their CV's by having a massive Ship they can't land on Station Pads, so have to use 1/3 of their Ship for a Hangar, whilst...yes of-course you can use the Shuttle to Transport people & goods to and from Planets easier than landing the CV/SV on the Planet ...wasting tons of fuel and time. etc.
I just feel, having some kind of walkway or whatever to & from the side of a Ship...even if it is not Air-tight...would make this easier and mean you have focus the CV on Fighting or whatever you want to do....but again..I am not like most people...I want my Ship full of stuff..eg Crew Quarters, Spares, nott smaller Craft...but hey whatever works for people I guess...

Does anyone know if it is possible to build Station with Gangways, like an Airport, so you come walk from a Station to a CV or larger SV from a side hatch...that way, if you me, you build without using the big hatch as usually found on the back of above Craft...
Just curious.
I am pretty sure it would not be Air-tight but I feel like would make bigger Craft more usable and practical in the finished Game.

But this port is massive! it's very awesome, just one issue, I can’t have it on best servers online as they restrict size to class 7, so I have compacted the structure to class 7, converted crew quarters to farms, so now there are 4 farms, added more furnaces, more constructors, and some other changes to get to class 7, if you like to see it, and post it as Class 7 port in your work shop, I will be honored. Let me know :)
