Thank you for the info daimyo Bleu, can't wait for the mod. However, could you increase the hero units just a tiny bit from 50 to 60? Much appriciated. :HanzosShadow:

@vadelinoz

I had one mod in the WIP grill that normalized all samurai unit counts by x 1.25 and, thus, equalizing them with ashigaru units (note that 160 x 1.25 = 200. This is almost the same for bow units)

It was also supposed to include this mod inside, and an indirect effect of this would be that heroes would also get changed from 40 to 50.

I never did release it since I just playtested it for a single player campaign but it should be good to go.

When? Soon(tm), of course :D

But I'll get around to it some day

Hello Bleu.

Could you create a mod that make hero unit a little bit bigger than just 40?

(And, hey, I hope you like this and other mods I made! Feel free to mix and match and please sub and like if you liked it!)

@praire dog hero
There's no easy fix unless you modify the entire startpos.esf which is a nightmare.

tldr suffer the gimpy light cav, you'll be ok

Oh okay I see now! When you start a campaign as the Takeda, your army starts with a unit of light cav which still only has cap of 60 men. However, when you recruit new units they will have 80. Is there a fix for this or do I just need to suffer having one gimpy light cav?

I'm having the same issue with takeda light cav still only having 60

Corporal: you probably have another mod conflicting with Takeda Light Cav, because my mod modifies both. I just tested it and here are the modified tables.

The problem is with Takeda's light cav. All of the other clans have the increased size.

Hello Corporal. Is the first time anyone told me this happened. I played on largest, by the way and it worked perfectly for me.

My friends also had it working perfectly. Im not playing Shogun 2 at the moment but when I do Ill look at it.

Additionally, there is another light cav size mod out there and it crashed the game for me as well, so this is why I made this mod.

After further testing, I found that it liked to give the ai the buff while the players unit size would remain the same. It's weird because I've tried this several times, once it actually did work for the player, on large setting, making the unit size 60 but the ai would have 80. And another time, the player would have 45 and the ai 60 on large setting. Please fix, I have no idea what is wrong.

I'm so sorry, nvm, I'm so stupid. I didn't have the largest on. It seems my computer can't run on the largest, so on the large setting I thought it was the largest because largest wasn't appearing in the list of settings. But when I tried it with the mod off the size was 45.
Corpral_C 9 Apr, 2020 @ 8:44am
I also tried someone else's mod that does the same thing and the game would crash as I would load the New Game.
Corpral_C 9 Apr, 2020 @ 8:41am
It doesn't seem to be working. I made a new game as the Takeda with only this mod enabled and the largest unit size enabled and the size of the light cav is still 60.

It't not a bug. Its a deliberate balance decision.

And I think its a horrible balance decision in a game where yari ashigaru are omega cheap and have 200 men, and light cavalry have terrible stats.
Rocket Witch 2 Feb, 2020 @ 8:07am
Fix? Is this actually confirmed to be a bug? To me it seems like a deliberate balance decision for light cav to be smaller.
