What was the process for creating something like this? I've figured out how to create an image in Photoshop and convert it to a .dds file, made sure to export it with the settings suggested by Space Engineers and I know where to drop the file once completed. What I don't know is that it seems you also need to have some sort of .sbc file to drop in the data folder to get the .dds texture files to show up in game and function properly. I'm completely lost when it comes to that part, and I'm not sure what I need to do or how to get the .sbc file to make my .dds textures to show up in the image options for LCD screens.

i love these, they look brilliant on transparent lcds! But any chance youll add Bathroom, WC and Showers? Also i wish the stairwell icones looked at bit less simple and more sci fi. Right now they are just a blob of colour thb

I have an LCD set up with an advertising poster (Clang Cola) but after every daily server restart it displays the blue "Locker" sign, what is going on?

still cant any sense out of the keen house server, theres no active chat channel, nowhere to 'ask' or 'shout out' for help,, what am i supposed to do, just drop in on everyones lap 'hi i need help' until someone answers?, cos if that was me,and someone just dropped in unannounced asking me random questions i might not know the answer to,, ngl i wouldnt exactly be best pleased, and tbh after it taking 3 attempts to get hold of whiplash via personal messages like that, i dont know if i can be bothered with a site like that regardless how 'helpful' everyone says they are, as its not very helpful not being able to ask for help, instead im left to doing this, dropping messages on peoples inboxes on steam hoping they see them and answer, like now i got an critical error and i cant make sense of it tag dont match?

dude im loving these, not exactly the right feel i was going for, but it deffo gives me an idea for more worlds to incorporate them, but i was wondering if i can pick your brain? im working on one myself, but cant get my images to show up on the lcds, any chance you could help out and point out where im going wrong?, the .xml is fine the images have been converted to .dds like all the rest of the lcd packs but i just cant get mine to show up properly, its in the workshop LCD's (re-rack), if you could take a look that would be awesome, been trying to sort this out for a while now

excellent work, could you make additional ones for the buttons of the new Sci-fi button terminal? i.e. Lights, Shutters, etc.

No, it will be completely its own thing. The images will be specifically designed to be buttons.

Probably will be a week or two or three before I finish and upload them.

The style of these signs is great for the sci-fi button panels. Any plans to make some images for commonly used buttons like lights, hangar doors, alarm buttons and such?

Stupid question but does this work as a script (i.e. transferable in a blueprint) or does it work like a block mod where others have to download it here or in a world to work? I"m interested in using these in my vanilla build, thanks!

Well, if you do make it, I'll definitely be using it, since it'll be much easier to place signs above doorways and such in 1-high rooms/halls/etc

@Starseeker - That actually works. There's still a couple of issues with it though. For one I would have to make a new border design because the original just looks awful being squashed and stretched. It would also only fit the large grid Corner LCDs because the small grid version is a different aspect ratio.

If I do this it will probably be a separate mod.

Also, perhaps you could add arrow signs pointing the other 7 directions (up, right, down, and the 4 diagonals), as well as Staircase, Commons and/or Lounge, and Observation Deck signs?

In any case, these look fantastic, and will likely show up in some of my builds as a replacement for plain-text signage.

For corner LCDs, an image sized for the LCD with blackbar padding around it might work (e.g. shrink & resize the image but then make the "canvas" the original size again and fill it with black). If it treats images on corner LCDs how I think it does (I must confess I haven't really used images on LCDs in SE, since the default selection is basically useless), then the rescaling you described won't happen (it'll already be the correct size) and the area cut off is just the blackbar padding, leaving the image itself untouched.

Well pooh... oh well it was just food for thought anyway. Hey, thanks for trying! Just being curious, can we expect even more signs added to this later on for the regular LCD's? Or more colors etc? I'm redoing my WHOLE installation JUST to incorporate these :O

Corner LCD versions aren't going to work I'm afraid. Even if I make images specifically sized for the corner LCDs, the game automatically scales them into a square and then cuts off 90% of the image again. I have no idea why Keen designed it this way.

Cool. Honestly I have been looking for a mod like this for a bit to 'spruce up' the base. Not very flashy to have just plain text saying 'Engineering' really. I mean even just having the outline really puts some sparkle into things.

For the garage... maybe a small icon of a ship with an arrow pointing to a building? You have very nice layouts for the landing pad and the other ship based icons. I'm horrible at graphics LOL.

The Garage sign is incomplete. It was something I planned to include but couldn't find a decent image for. I didn't realize it was still in the mod, and I've now removed it. Thanks for pointing that out.

And I'll consider doing something with the corner LCDs.

Sorry for the double post... I did want to say I have tested these on normal and wide screen LCD's, works great. I do however wish you had a Text based version for corner LCD's, to be more compact (i.e. to hang over doorways) that still included the VERY nice outline around the edging and just the words to display on screen... Food for thought! Love the mod :)

@Netherspark I don't use the ones included with the base game, they lack content that is useful in my opinion. I think Keen should add these images as part of the BASE S.E. package, they give give content (the most common areas of a base/ship) without being really invasive or requiring complex setup.

I do however... have to point out a glitch in the Garage (blue) image, it seems to turn my ENTIRE LCD transparent with no image. Let me know if I can provide more info to help fix this.

I also agree with @Balmung I would include a few more levels maybe 6-10? I don't see ANY reason to go past 10 (again, just a personal opinion).

@Ballzonyah once you find the sign you want loaded under 'Text and Images', make sure to click 'Add to Selection' otherwise it does nothing. You can add MULTIPLE signs if you wish to rotate a specific selection (i.e. Command Center; Medical Station; Armory) to show that all three of these area are through the current doorway/hallway.

@Ballzonyah You go into the LCD, select 'Text And Images' to show, then you find the LCD you want loaded (since they don't have preview images). Hope I explained it well!
