make sure its

MACHINE = {

}
PRESAPIENT = {

inherit_trait_points_from = BIOLOGICAL
}

and not

MACHINE = {
species_trait_points = @machine_trait_points

missing a } will cause it to not work

Quick fix for lithoids:

navigate to

Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod

then find the .mod file that says

"name="Tyrfang's Custom Trait Points & Picks"
archive="[.....]tyrfangstpnp.zip" <- is the location of the tyrfangstpnp.zip file

( use text editors for .mod files)

navigate to above location

extract the tyrfangstpnp.zip, add

"LITHOID = {
inherit_trait_points_from = BIOLOGICAL"


to the page, so that it looks like below


MACHINE = {
species_trait_points = @machine_trait_points
species_max_traits = @machine_max_traits
}
PRESAPIENT = {
species_trait_points = @species_trait_points
species_max_traits = @species_max_traits
LITHOID = {
inherit_trait_points_from = BIOLOGICAL
}
OTHER = {}


save it and zip the whole package (the common folder + descriptor) and rename it to the original tyrfangstpnp.zip

Ah, I see now. It just changes trait points . Ok, yeah, those ideas seem really interesting and original! I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do.

Hey Gavril, no custom traits were added or changed, but it's something very interesting to me and I'll study the possibility of a mod with added custom traits and/or civics, just as soon as I play the Wolfe update and figure out just where Stellaris' balance is headed to.

My objective will be adding traits that are creative and interesting gameplay wise as well as creating some that are more powerful while costing more points. Ideas include reducing minimum age, immortality at the cost of pop growth speed, pop growth speed at the cost of leader age, balanced latent psionics, etc etc.
