works for me :)
falsetruth1988 19 Jun, 2024 @ 2:47am
YES it still works
INoble KnightI 8 May, 2024 @ 2:59am
Does this mod still work? Cause it doesn't seem to work for me.
Akardia Konarimo 16 Jan, 2024 @ 7:06pm
@Thundercraft the #2 is right. Having either of those two mods will make the Detailed Turret Tooltips stop working, and then you cant see any info of all turrets.
Thundercraft 16 Jan, 2024 @ 3:41pm
@Akardia Konarimo wrote quote, "These two mods used a new type of damage ,so it will break the turret info."

Just to clarify: Are you saying that, with those two mods, (#1) just the turret info for those two turret types will be broken... or are you saying (#2) that having those two mods installed with this mod will break turret info for all types of turrets?
wolfmagnus 16 Jan, 2024 @ 7:13am
This is an awesome mod
Akardia Konarimo 26 Dec, 2023 @ 7:36am
this mod doesn't compatible with PierceEnergy Gauss Cannon and EAPFSDScannon . These two mods used a new type of damage ,so it will break the turret info.
Kif Kroker 26 Sep, 2023 @ 6:22pm
does it account for overheat in the dps calculation?
MassCraxx  [author] 15 Aug, 2023 @ 10:58am
@BlickMecK thanks for clarifying, helps a lot.

@Thundercraft then there must be other mods breaking your savegame. What other mods are you running? In order to confirm, try starting a new game with only the tooltips active and see if that works. Then slowly activate other mods and see when it breaks.

NOTE: for changing active mods in an existing savegame, you need to check the "Override Galaxy's Mods" checkmark on the top right of the screen, otherwise last used mods are active.
BickMecK 15 Aug, 2023 @ 1:32am
Hello there,
I have all DLCs and the mod works firne. I have only 3 additional mods, wich are the fake Turbolaser mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1792935241
Torpedo Produktion https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2053583501
and the ship refinery mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2337046047
i hope this helps. All tooltips are working as intended.
MassCraxx  [author] 14 Aug, 2023 @ 5:27pm
I fixed Force Guns and added some missing Damage Type specific effects but was not able to identify any generic issues with the mod. However, I am not running Avorion's newest DLC yet, may this break things?

@UltraMassive if you could provide any more information like what other DLCs and Mods you are using or ideally provide a console log containing the error message that would be very helpful.
MassCraxx  [author] 9 Aug, 2023 @ 5:46pm
Thanks for bringing this up and for your appreciation. I will try to find some time to give this an update.
UltraMassive 9 Aug, 2023 @ 4:28pm
This mod currently breaks turret info. When hovering over a turret, only a slim black bar is shown rather than any turret information. Hopefully this issue will be fixed soon as the mod is normally outstanding. I didn't realize how much of a difference it made until I was unable to use it.
丢雷楼某 29 Jul, 2023 @ 12:29am
If other modules add new damage types, your module will not be able to call the new damage types, which will cause serious problems:steamfacepalm:

Not working for me. Is there a key to use to see the improved tooltips? They look exactly like Vanilla for me with or without the mod.
rogueclon946 30 Apr, 2023 @ 4:37pm
Doesn't show Force Gun strength and doesn't seem like it mentions the unique parts of lightning guns.
Travis 16 Mar, 2023 @ 9:20am
As far as I can tell, this mod does still work with 2.3.1. I am seeing all the new details in turret tooltips.
Meddos 8 Jan, 2023 @ 4:02am
Hey guys, i installed the mod. Started the game. In the main menu i aktivated the mod. Then I loaded a save. I went into the settings to "mods" and no mod is showed. Ingame you cannot see the the mod when you view at turrets. Any ideas? Thank you in advance :)
Mario L. 7 Jan, 2023 @ 4:34am
The link to the avorion.net forums thread seems to be broken, maybe the thread does not exist anymore under this URL?
Willie989 19 Nov, 2022 @ 6:08am
really love the mod, but I'm collecting force turrets :c
Marxon 16 Aug, 2022 @ 5:24pm
Doesn't seem to work with force guns.
Squish Mush 3 Apr, 2022 @ 12:59am
Make sure to enable mods in main menu, then tick box to use mods when you load saves, or else it is not enabled.
Draylynn 21 Dec, 2021 @ 11:03am
3840x1080, it was one of SDK's shield turrets. Once installed I could read it, but the combination of bonus's pre and post install were too tall to read fully.
MassCraxx  [author] 21 Dec, 2021 @ 11:01am
@Draylynn what kind of turret is that?? And at what resolution do you play on? Unfortunately, toggling certain lines on/off would always require a reload of you save, I dont think that is feasable.
@Mindfield is that a (pure) vanilla turret? Could you check the console for error logs?
Draylynn 21 Dec, 2021 @ 3:39am
Could use an option to toggle it off/on. Just found an item and the tool-tip is so big I can't read it all.
Mindfield 16 Dec, 2021 @ 10:08am
Missing Turret:
Ultra PS-P Ionizing Pulsar (Exotic Pulse Cannon) T24, Titanium
No detailed tooltips shown.
Exmortis 28 Nov, 2021 @ 1:58am
@MassCraxx

Yeah looks like I was wrong. I did some more digging in the logs and it looks like Fighter Building Cost was the culprit. It seemed to be causing an issue with the turret .lua file which went on to effect all modded turret tooltips. Not sure exactly what the problem was, but removed that Mod and it started working again.
MassCraxx  [author] 27 Nov, 2021 @ 8:49am
@Exmortis I just tested with the typhon turret and could not see any problems. What exactly do you mean by "breaking the tooltips"? Which turret is it you are looking at?
Exmortis 26 Nov, 2021 @ 8:41pm
Hey
We're using this mod on a new Server, and we think it's currently breaking the tooltips for RedFrog80's Standalone weapons

I'm not sure how to fix it, any thoughts?
I can't stand puns 26 Nov, 2021 @ 7:33am
@MassCraxx the way I got around it was by editing the version number in the mod files itself. It's entirely possible that I don't have my mod lua config file for that galaxy set up right. I sent you the friend request regardless in case you're still interested in more clarification on the issue
MassCraxx  [author] 25 Nov, 2021 @ 10:46am
@I can't stand puns: I just tested with different save states and could not reproduce your issue, This is also pretty unlikely, because the script is not called before you actually look at a turret, fighter or torpedo.
What exactly happens if you load your savegame? Do you have other mods active? Consider looking at the log after an unsuccessful load.
If you need help solving your issue feel free to add me as a friend so I can help you via PM.
I can't stand puns 25 Nov, 2021 @ 6:24am
After this mod updated to version 4.1, I can no longer load into the galaxy for my current playthrough. If anyone can walk me through any necessary changes to the galaxy or mod files, it would be greatly appreciated
MassCraxx  [author] 24 Nov, 2021 @ 9:35am
@Sythalin Thanks for your input. I added the rariy based color scheme to the tooltips.

I knowingly did not add the "More Damage vs" and "Slot Type" info as IMHO it does not add any valuable information and will just clutter the info even more.
To take your screenshot as example, the increased damage to hull is stated in more detail inside the summary on the bottom of the tooltip. The fact that turret is an ARMED turret type also does not add any more insights as you can clearly see the damage type and values.

The comparison feature and its indicators got added way later than this mod was implemented. In his quote taken from Avorion Early-Access times (2019?) lyravega is referring to comparing turrets just by looking at their tooltips.
I might add this eventually but looking at all the custom values to compare its not a trivial task.
Until then feel free to go ahead and create a pull request on github ;)
Sythalin 23 Nov, 2021 @ 11:46am
"give much more information"
That is does, which is great, however....

"make weapon comparisons easy"
... not so much.

Any possibility of getting an update so that the tooltips more resemble vanilla? Specifically, critical info such as "more damage to x" and slot type, as well as "easy comparison" visuals like the stat change arrows and border coloring.

Picture Comparison [i.imgur.com]

At the moment, despite the applauded extra info, the mod actually makes it take significantly LONGER to compare equipment.
MassCraxx  [author] 31 Oct, 2021 @ 12:30pm
@Travis Totally agree, could not find a solution for that. If you do, feel free to create a pull request on github.
Travis 31 Oct, 2021 @ 11:38am
I love this mod, but I wish there was a way to get the menus / item lists to properly sort with the more accurate DPS info that this mod shows. For example, sorting by DPS/slot is not always accurate. It seems to only account for the base damage, and no other factors. Is there some way you can add a new TRUE DPS/slot sorting (or just enhance the existing DPS/slot sorting), that actually takes the Average DPS/slot info into consideration, that this mod reveals? For example, it can use the normal DPS/slot data for turrets that don't have any modifying factors, and use the Average DPS/slot data for turrets that do, and sort the list incorporating both data fields, to get a more true sorting of turrets by DPS. I spend way too much time manually scanning through the turret list, to find my best turrets, so this addition would be a lifesaver. Thanks!

Turns out there's a somewhat buried option to get extended tooltips in vanilla (game settings, scroll down, the scroll option is hard to notice), but comparing that with this mod, there are some minor inconsistencies in continuous shots, and pen depth (for railguns), have not yet tested to see which is more accurate.
MassCraxx  [author] 12 Sep, 2021 @ 11:11am
Thanks for noticing, not sure how I could forget the fighters :steamfacepalm:
The fighter tooltips have been fixed, should work as intended now.
Tiberiumkyle 11 Sep, 2021 @ 6:59pm
Fighter tooltips broken here as well. Just shows a blank bar, no info at all.
Binaryclock03 8 Sep, 2021 @ 8:08pm
Hey I know you dont have much time but this mod breaks fighter tool tips for some reason! :KScared:
Cy 8 Sep, 2021 @ 2:51pm
thanks for the update, appreciated!
MassCraxx  [author] 8 Sep, 2021 @ 1:25pm
If you load an existing savegame after enabling the mod make sure to check the "Override Galaxie's Mods" checkbox on the top right.
MassCraxx  [author] 8 Sep, 2021 @ 1:18pm
Hey, so turns out it seems to still work without any further adjusments. Since I curently don't have much time to do further analysis I just raised the compatibility for now.
Please let me know if something important is missing, so far I noticed the following minor additions, and I am not sure if these are actually necessary tbh.
- Tooltip background color
- Slot type
Cy 8 Sep, 2021 @ 1:36am
+1 I really like your toolripps. Can we please get an update? =)
TangerineSpaceRaptor 7 Sep, 2021 @ 6:41am
The mod is now considered out of date by the ingame mod manager due to update 2. Can you please update it?
Snuggy Serian 9 Apr, 2021 @ 7:31pm
There is a "DPS/SLOT" sort function in the vanilla game.

And oh lol, in the loading menu. God that is really stupid hidden. I was trying this mod for a server, so first i didn't even tried it on singleplayer.
Thank you.
Devanov 9 Apr, 2021 @ 7:23pm
I would like if there would be a Lite-version.
One which only adds the "DPS per slot" value and make it possible to sort items after that one.
MassCraxx  [author] 9 Apr, 2021 @ 10:27am
@Snuggy when loading a savegame, there is a checkbox on the top right corner "Override Galaxy's Mods", did you check that? It also works for me when starting a new game in creative mode. If the checkbox does not help, maybe try reinstalling the game and resubscribing
Snuggy Serian 9 Apr, 2021 @ 8:09am
Sorry that i ask that here, but how does a mod get activated? I tried multiple mods, including this one (no designs etc. "Actual mods").
All of them are activated in the Main Menu-Setting-Mods window. "Achievements are disabled while mods enabled" Icon blinks up. But none of them appear to work or even get recognized while being in a singleplayer creative game. They don't appear in the mod list while being in a active galaxy.

I read Dukes comment, but there is literally nothing like he described. Nothing in the top right except the X for closing the window.
Duke 30 Mar, 2021 @ 1:55pm
Thanks for the reply. I did eventually find it. There's a button in the top right that's like IMPOSSIBLE to see. But that enables the mods and seemed to be working.
