update please?
Osariusz 29 Jun, 2021 @ 2:35pm
Does it work for 3.0+?
Mr. Flibble 12 Mar, 2021 @ 1:33pm
@Xoatl That would be awesome!
Look forward to it one day.
Xoatl  [author] 12 Mar, 2021 @ 12:22am
Maybe one day when I get back into Stellaris. Would be a good origin but more flavorful when its only for Sol starts.
Mr. Flibble 16 Apr, 2020 @ 2:42pm
It seems to still work in 2.6. Or at least it looks like it did.
Started a game up. pop up window and got Mars when asked.
But would love for it to be updated, maybe even added as an origin as that sounds pretty cool.
Livnthedream 23 Mar, 2020 @ 11:51pm
Yeah this is the sort of thing that is just begging to be an origin.
Panzerfaul 20 Mar, 2020 @ 9:23am
Is this mod officially dead? I'm just curious, as it looks amazing
Xoatl  [author] 22 Jun, 2019 @ 12:56pm
@Tiva maybe I'll look into it
@Nite so far yes, but I'll be redoing how all that works and add random events that will apply to either decision. I've been kicking around the idea of making the "survivng mars" decision into a custom pre-FTL stage, that might be cool.
Nite 20 Jun, 2019 @ 11:07pm
So if you opt to take Mars at the beginning, do any further events occur? Or do you have to terraform it on your own?
Kheeran 15 Jun, 2019 @ 8:29am
Great mod, might it be possible to make it compatible with PJs :: Systems :: Detailed Sol mod, so we could have a more detailed starting solar system? thanks!
Xoatl  [author] 8 Jun, 2019 @ 10:29pm
I suppose so, I have civics overhaul mod and thats a good idea for that. But perhaps its better to wait until the PDX devs create a new origin/background category.
richardson1701 8 Jun, 2019 @ 5:03pm
Could a more generic version of this be created through the use of a civic submod for generically portaying this when not playing with Sol?
Xoatl  [author] 8 Jun, 2019 @ 2:45am
Yeah if you want to phrase it that way. When I get the random events going you should get them during the Surviving Mars or Martian Environment "phase" of Mars.
lastofthelight 8 Jun, 2019 @ 2:00am
So to clarify: If we want to see the most new content, we need to NOT invade mars, then decline their request to join us, right?
Xoatl  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 5:55pm
Updated. I'm going to enjoy the new expansion for a bit.
Xoatl  [author] 4 Jun, 2019 @ 3:54pm
Should still be compatible with 2.3. Can't update till tomorrow night anyway.
SNOOOPDOGG_THE_BEST 4 Jun, 2019 @ 3:49pm
update pls
带带Ra*bits 4 Jun, 2019 @ 5:49am
lmao
pretty good,I like this mod
Xoatl  [author] 3 Jun, 2019 @ 1:36pm
Only two issues will stop it from triggering. Either you aren't starting as Sol (Mars with terraforming candidate) or you're a hivemind empire.
CoolAidApocalypse 3 Jun, 2019 @ 12:47pm
Hey, I won't seem to get the event to trigger.
Dekent 2 Jun, 2019 @ 3:33pm
Making events based on the mysteries would be pretty cool. A basic example would be the wisps, they come out and drink your water at first (lower habitability?) and you eventually have to capture them (planetary decision costing minerals?) where you either experiment on them (bonus research?) or live along side of them (bonus energy?) Could do modifiers with adding features granting custom jobs or flat bonuses.
Xoatl  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 2:54pm
Wow I just checked that is awesome about the Twitter account. One of my failed surviving mars colony had the last war mystery. You're right the event description should be different. The option would be whether they tried to stop it or were part of the war. However I'm in no rush and want playable Mars rebellion asap. But who knows I'll probably get around to it right after. Most of the other mysteries I haven't tried so you guys will have to tell me what they'd look like.
Aether 2 Jun, 2019 @ 2:34pm
Post Apocalyptic civic should get a different event description about how the Martian colonies tried to convince the Earth nations to stop their war before it goes nuclear but their inability to care for refugees arriving from Earth or send relief aid to Earth because of their own problems made their pleas fall on deaf ears. It's what happens in Surviving Mars if you fail the Last War mystery.

By the way, StellarisGame twitter first brought me here, the devs themselves noted the mod on day one :D
Xoatl  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 12:12pm
@Pandora Не стесняйтесь вносить изменения в русскую локализацию
Xoatl  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 12:07pm
@Digamma It'll be a little harder. I'll get around to nerfing the Martian Environment modifier and maybe increasing it to 10% habitability. I'll first try it with the 2.3 changes. My main concern is if the player would be able to keep it from unrest/crime with either martial law or handing out luxuries or a combination of the two.
Digamma 2 Jun, 2019 @ 11:31am
How will Mars becoming a tundra world work with the changes in habitability in 2.3?
♤ |_Pandora_| ♤ 2 Jun, 2019 @ 10:00am
Ого. Надобно перевести этот мод на досуге.
Xoatl  [author] 1 Jun, 2019 @ 9:20pm
Just noticed my mod got on most popular this week!!! Very thankful, despite not having all the bells and whistles I have planned. @Dekent yeah I think thats going to be a fun scenario. The life-seeded option is nice to as it gives you humans capable of early expansion. The only way to guarentee no Mars' rebellion would be to Accept taking Mars at the beginning otherwise if left to their own devices there will be a chance they go to war. Like the other options it will have a chance of happening as early as 25 years in or as late as 125 years. So players may get in a situation where the only way to continue that session is to play as them. However to shed a light into my thinking the fleet they'll get will be non-upgradable and not capable of FTL. Should your other colonies or allies be strong enough you will most likely have enough time retake the system.
Dekent 1 Jun, 2019 @ 7:24pm
I hope that it's pretty easy to avoid or optional to have a mars rebellion seize Sol through an event, I often play pretty tall and in Sol with gigastractures and living space so my Sol can be a 1 system empire quite easily haha. A start with a tomb world post apoc earth and a crappy mars sounds pretty fun though.
Xoatl  [author] 1 Jun, 2019 @ 6:05pm
@Dekent yes it does and there's a number of possible start conditions for Mars. A tundra colony is the most basic. If you decline (dont want to deal with the stuggling colony) it will become a continental colony on its own 25-125 years after game start (mimicking the 300-400 years it takes in a normal survivng mars game). This is to mimick the "independent colony" phase in survivng mars. Later there will be random pro/con events during this stage and a possibility that they will take Sol and become a playable rebellion. Theres already different options if you start as post-apocalyptic or life seeded that you might want to check out. Essentially this mod is more than just a "start with a Mars colony" mod. But it will add flavour and story to the planet.
Dekent 1 Jun, 2019 @ 5:10pm
So this mod has Mars as a colonized tundra world and using the real sol system graphics? Sounds pretty awesome, does it change to the continental version once terraformed?
Xoatl  [author] 1 Jun, 2019 @ 4:55pm
@mrhale I can't even begin to guess why. None of my mod would duplicate anything. Two things, are you playing a Sol start? And can you try starting a game with just my mod loaded?
mrhale28 1 Jun, 2019 @ 3:42pm
Im not able to start the event chain but my home system starts off with duplicates of fleets and buildings
Trace Projectile 1 Jun, 2019 @ 8:55am
Real Life: Putting humans on Mars in the 2030's.

Stellaris: Humans haven't even touched Mars by 2200.
RedRapture 1 Jun, 2019 @ 7:32am
So...the description is a bit vague. Is this your empire starting on Earth, with Mars as a colony already? Or are you starting on Mars?
Exodus 31 May, 2019 @ 10:44pm
This is so meta
starfirejordan 31 May, 2019 @ 7:31pm
@SteelCrow theres a mod for that and it adds the sun explodes in 10 years or the planet gets hit by its fall is moon in 3 year note there civics so you could have them both
SteelCrow 31 May, 2019 @ 4:12pm
Oh,ohoh,
you could have an alternate hardcore option where we have to evacuate Earth to avoid some impending doom.
The mod 'Supernovae - Cosmic Fury' has the whole star system go kablooey. In the worstcase mode you have 10 years until your starting system's star blows up!
4 31 May, 2019 @ 12:58pm
no
MarkJerue 31 May, 2019 @ 9:31am
Oh man, this is awesome!

I have one immediate thought: how would mysteries look in a Stellaris environment? I'm imagining a few of them would work well in Stellaris (like St Elmo's Fire, Beyond Earth, and Marsgate).
Xoatl  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 8:17am
No worries, and with my latest update I'm going to sleep for a few days. Please feel free to offer suggestions and definitely point out bugs. When I come back I hope to add the Martian rebellion outcome in the next update.
EpicElag 31 May, 2019 @ 7:42am
This is amazing Good work
Xoatl  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 7:33am
I will be updating it soon with post apocalyptic and life seeded options. It's meant to add a little more flavour to Sol starts in particular what to do with Mars. You should give it a try soon. Once I've updated it I'll be taking a break till next week.
Nico 31 May, 2019 @ 7:28am
I just don't get it xD
Xoatl  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 7:04am
What would you like to know that isn't already in the description?
Nico 31 May, 2019 @ 4:05am
So the purpose of this mod is what exactly?
Xoatl  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 1:50am
OK instead of arid its tundra now and everything should be fully compatible with Real Sol and Improve Mars as well as use the Real Sol (or vanilla) Mars textures during the Martian Environment phase of the terraforming.
Xoatl  [author] 30 May, 2019 @ 6:16pm
@Akeean I'll check that out. Perhaps I'll change the skin to tundra like you suggest if the player isn't using Real Sol. Might make it a tundra world with arid skin/Real Sol skin. There are a few things I need to do with Improve Mars compatibility but I will make these changes after that's done.
Xoatl  [author] 30 May, 2019 @ 6:15pm
I see what you're saying. I was initially going with the "vegetation around the poles" in the arid description but everything else fits the tundra description more. However do you mean the final step should be tundra instead of continental? If so, I disagree, the entire point is to make the world like Earth fit for humanity, so 25-125 years after the start of Stellaris if the colonies are successful it should be a continental (225-325 years in a surviving Mars game, even though it took me 400 in my surviving mars game. But in my favour the rival AI in that game is barebones, they hardly accomplish milestones and NEVER help towards terraforming so if that was the case I'm sure I would have beat the game closer to the timeline of this mod). Other than that I will change the "Martian Environment" stage to tundra and not arid. It's a just a bummer cause Real Sol doesn't have a Martian tundra skin as far as I know. But it does have a continental skin.
akeean 30 May, 2019 @ 3:02pm
A custom terraforming event that turns it into a continental world that looks like tundra would be perfect. (Check out my Mars Start mod) to see how to change the look of a planet separate from its type, if needed.
