I wish this was updated.

Anybody have any clue as to whether this will be fixed? I loved it and I'm coming back to the game after a few months and I'd really love to have it again :c

⚠️Broken, breaks game⚠️
macluk 20 Nov, 2022 @ 12:17pm
Oh is it this mod causing plenty of... fun? ;)
Haven't painted a single district in ages... so i just found out :D:D
Bunnyling |CDM| 1 Nov, 2022 @ 1:17am
i wish it worked again
Smugger 31 Oct, 2022 @ 8:35pm
Does anyone have any info if something else Replaces this yet? As this is not being updated.
SunGod 24 Oct, 2022 @ 1:26pm
Confirm that this mod does indeed now break vanilla's ability to create new district areas. Disabling the mod via Content Manager > Mods then restart/reload will restore your ability to create new district areas.

This is an outstanding mod but no longer works. The original snapping tool of the game is awfully inconvenient to use because of its disturbance when get close to the roads.Sincerely hope the creator could update this practical mod.Or could anyone recommend a substitute?
Systematic Annihilator 24 Sep, 2022 @ 11:45pm
Can confirm this mod is broken with the Plazas & Promenades update - I unsubscribed and instantly was able to paint new districts again.
Pixelclone 20 Sep, 2022 @ 2:47pm
This mod no longer works. It messes with drawing new districts.
Witchberry 18 Sep, 2022 @ 4:44pm
Mine still works just fine though...
ctcatuga 18 Sep, 2022 @ 12:46pm
@Vespasian, yea, I removed this mod, too and was able to draw districts again. Real bummer, I hate the automatic vanilla snapping.
Vespasian 18 Sep, 2022 @ 3:17am
ctcatuga - I think you are right. I had problems with drawing districts after that update, I have temporarily disabled this mod and everything seems to be working now - except district snapping of course...
ctcatuga 17 Sep, 2022 @ 5:12pm
I am unable to draw new districts of any kind with the new Parks and Plazas update. Not sure if this mod is the cause, but other than building themes which has been updated, this is the only other mod that affects districts, and more specifically district zoning. I can erase districts, and completely 100% randomly I can re-draw existing districts, but the newly redrawn districts have no visible names and I am unable to do anything with the district - themes, rules, etc.

Here is my output log:

I thought this was gonna allow snapping but also not just covering the entire road like the game already does. I thought it was gonna allow for the road to be sort of half selected and be an actual "border" of sorts for the district. Not that I dislike the option to have snapping turned on or off, but I thought it was gonna do more than just that.
OneCasualBoi 30 Jan, 2022 @ 10:14am
@chaotichuman I was actually thinking the same thing. I'd love an option to go back and forth, and honestly I wouldn't mind have that option for ALL districts.
f4y3 29 Jan, 2022 @ 11:22pm
Just wanted to confirm that this "bug" of Airport districts no longer automatically flattening the terrain if this mod is enabled indeed exists however I wouldn't necessarily consider this "bug" to be a problem. In the opposite. I actually think disabling automatic terrain-flattening might be a good thing for many people as there are also many real-life-airports which are actually not completely flat although if the author of this mod still intends to fix this "bug" I would actually recommend them to implement the fix in an optional way therefore giving players the choice if they want to enable or disable terrain-flattening.
OneCasualBoi 26 Jan, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Unfortunately this mod appears to be broken by the Airports update. The automatic terrain flattening when creating an Airport district area does not work with this mod enabled. Will continue to test and report back if I learn anything new.

@H2O -- The base game's district drawing tool snaps to networks (roads, rails, etc.) as you draw the district. That isn't always desired. This mod allows you to turn OFF the snapping so you have a more free-flowing style of drawing districts.
H2O 9 Oct, 2021 @ 7:03pm
Mod does nothing, regardless of settings. It doesn't snap to anything.
LemonsterOG 10 Jul, 2021 @ 7:59pm
@lotherius -- I have never had a single issue with this mod.

Here is how I have the mod's options set: Click for Screenshot [www.dropbox.com]
lotherius 10 Jul, 2021 @ 5:57pm
Does not work. Mod Compatibility Check reports no conflicts. Harmony installed.

Options present in game, I tried various options, both vanilla and snapping disabled, tried the "invert" hotkeys, nothing. District painting behavior is still braindead snappy either way. This mod does absolutely nothing.
geozero 10 Jul, 2021 @ 3:21pm
Can't seem to work. How exactly does it work? Nothing snapping to streets, just the same blob district.
EggTBD 14 Apr, 2021 @ 12:01am
Miracle mod! No more annoyingly glitchy vanilla district-drawing!
LemonsterOG 10 Oct, 2020 @ 12:37pm
@madkirk74 -- I can take a look if you'd like.

If you haven’t already done so, subscribe to the Mod Compatibility Checker mod and be sure it’s enabled in Content Manager (listed as “Auto Repair").

Relaunch the game to the main menu, then:

Mac User: Post your game log for us to review. Here's How

Windows/Linux User: Post your mod compatibility report, found in the location you set in that mod's options.
madkirk74 10 Oct, 2020 @ 12:33pm
something I have must be incompatible or something.
LemonsterOG 21 Aug, 2020 @ 1:49pm
@M_Leon246 -- Yes....it still works. I absolutely L-O-V-E this simple little mod. :smileyflag:
Leon 21 Aug, 2020 @ 1:23pm
Can anyone confirm this works with V13? and the new DLC?
Qutlaw 7 Aug, 2020 @ 2:03am
I don't think I get it. When I paint a district it seems to have a mind of its own, regardless of how I change the settings. Was hoping this would give me more control, to get cleaner district lines, but it only seems to help a tiny tiny bit with the constant snapping against a road. Or is that all it is supposed to do?

Really wish there was an option to hold a key (like shift) and have the tool LOCK into a straight line, could easily get nice straight district lines. Hell, I'd donate for a tool that did THAT.
LemonsterOG 11 May, 2020 @ 1:28pm
@alankbeck -- Yes, it does. I love it. What issues are you having with it? You have no details for anyone to help you.
alankbeck 11 May, 2020 @ 12:47pm
I don't think this works anymore...
陀弥流「ダミール」Jackalope 29 Jan, 2020 @ 8:20pm
Cant understand what it does. Nothing changed with any settings.
ღ B U N N Y ᠌ ⁧⁧X 8 Jan, 2020 @ 12:15pm
This is such a small thing in theory but OMG i would not want to play without that anymore
macluk 25 Dec, 2019 @ 1:21pm
It's great! :)
LemonsterOG 7 Oct, 2019 @ 12:50pm
I L-O-V-E this mod! Thanks for the great work!
matthewcouto 2 Jul, 2019 @ 5:58pm
Is it difficult to make a tool where you can drag a box to define a district instead of painting it?
Dendraspis  [author] 2 Jul, 2019 @ 4:13am
@Business Socks Thank you, too.😃

Thanks, guys. 😊
Business Socks 1 Jul, 2019 @ 9:51pm
Dendraspis, I have marked my old mod as deprecated and linked to your mod here. Hopefully this gets people converting over. Many thanks for picking this up!
ctcatuga 9 Jun, 2019 @ 6:29pm
THANK YOU!!!! I have severely missed this. Works perfectly!!!!
MisterJ 5 Jun, 2019 @ 10:15pm
