update changed the filename for prefabsettings to prefabmods
Dingo  [author] 30 Jan @ 1:56pm
@GhostRat: Are the other colors working and only orange and yellow isn't?

I'm not sure what the cause is, only thing i can think off the top of my head is that it might be a language thing, are you playing English localization or another language?
GhostRat 30 Jan @ 7:43am
it doesn't work for me, yellow, orange at heavy cable "Venus" "Normal".
Not infinite?
Where it must placed by Mods? First, last position?
Dingo  [author] 31 Jul, 2024 @ 11:22am
I renamed the file and re-uploaded the mod, not sure why it worked for some people and didn't for others.
Kyr 20 Jul, 2024 @ 2:56am
Any plans to update the mod to fix the file naming issue?
Coulson 23 Apr, 2024 @ 3:42am
For those finding that the mod does not work, the comments below fix the problem. Note that you need to change the file name to just 'prefabsettings', there is no need to type '.xml' in the file name. I was making this mistake!

For anyone who has trouble with this mod: I did what has been suggested earlier on, went to steamapps\workshop\content\544550\1761980496\GameData\infinipaint.xml, renamed the file to prefabsettings.xml, and the mod works beautifully now.

I'm on version v0.2.4767.21868 of the game.

Just tested it with the spray gun and red spray can, painted bunch of welded steel frames and it is working fine, i'm not sure what the problem is with yours, but it sounds like it is not getting detected by the game.

Try unsubscribing, make sure it is removed from the mod list in game, and then exit the game, subscribe to it again and see if that helps.

Mod is not working on game version:0.2.4039.19189 (in changelog). Addon mod loader installed, but telling 0 mods are loaded, although the mod is subscribed / enabled. restart game is not helping.

Can anyone tell how can this mod be used on this game version?

The below comment about rename the xml is also not working.
Psychokiller1888 1 Mar, 2023 @ 1:17am
Works nice as of march 2023

10/09/2022 Mod isn't working, version 0.2.3647.17684.
Dingo  [author] 12 Sep, 2022 @ 7:39pm
@littlekoala1014:
it doesn't work that way, infinite paint is done by changing the amount of paint used to zero, there is no 'amount per use' with canisters, the contents just get moved from one place to another.
litekoala 10 Sep, 2022 @ 1:12pm
could you make a infinite gas and liquid canister?
Infamous|Ozzay 18 Jul, 2022 @ 8:58am
Works fine for me, you need to enable mods in the main menu and then restart the game
Aedda 15 Jun, 2022 @ 3:21pm
Anyone managed to get this working on the stable version? Installed mod, made sure it was enabled, started new world, paint cans still run out as normal.
OperationDx 3 Jun, 2022 @ 11:32am
I think all mod are broken in the new update. My guess is it has something to do with changes made to the dll file and they forgot to code back in overrides for mod files.
Timelord 2 May, 2022 @ 8:30pm
Does not appear to work on latest beta, for anyone wondering.
wizzy 25 Oct, 2020 @ 2:24pm
Thanks for the response, I just thought it was weird how a road flare will stay on forever in Multiplayer but single player it burns for like 60 seconds and go's out. Thanks for looking in to it.
Dingo  [author] 25 Oct, 2020 @ 2:17pm
@wizzy, sorry for taking so long to respond, the easy trick of setting usage on flares doesn't seem to work. I'll try to find a workaround but i'm not holding my breath. I think as the flare burns it slowly eats up the durability of the flare. Right now i'm not sure if that is hard-coded or how it is handled.
wizzy 21 Oct, 2020 @ 5:49am
Is there a way to do this with the Road Flares so they do not ever go out?
ballofenergy! 16 Jul, 2020 @ 7:48pm
huh, thats weird
Dingo  [author] 16 Jul, 2020 @ 2:55am
that happens to me 4 out of 5 times with the experimental version, it happens even when there aren't any mods.
ballofenergy! 10 Jul, 2020 @ 5:16pm
It was not a problem with the save, the game would not let me play at all. it would just go to a loading mod files page where it would sit until it just froze and crashed after n hour or so.
I personally think it was because i sometimes mess around with my own few mods that i made and it might of messed with this mod.
Dingo  [author] 9 Jul, 2020 @ 7:58pm
I've been using it myself for months, haven't had a problem. All this mod does is sets the amount of paint per use to zero.
It is more likely that a bug in the game itself was the cause of your problems with your save.
ballofenergy! 4 Jul, 2020 @ 1:02pm
It turns out steam will not let me directly attach a screenshot so that last part about the screenshot cannot be done.
ballofenergy! 4 Jul, 2020 @ 1:00pm
So here's the thing: some time ago my game became corrupted because of a mod. Now that i have finally figured out how to fix it and it has been fixed, i have been doing some research on the mod that corrupted it. It turns out that it was this mod. Idk if it was an update that made it incompatable or if it just broke in general. Im not saying it was the devs fault, but i just advise everyone that installs this mod to disable the mod before a known major update. I will send a screenshot of the modlist to provide further evidence. Besides that, its a great mod.
Dingo  [author] 22 Nov, 2019 @ 1:42pm
might as well use the radioisotope reactor then, i'm not sure if the power output of it can be tweaked though
Tocsic 22 Nov, 2019 @ 11:17am
@Dingo wouldnt it be possible to make an infinite battery by copying current battery and making a new item (infinite battery) with the copy and make it so that it both stores and generates power??
Dingo  [author] 13 Jun, 2019 @ 1:43pm
@The MiningMan:

Right now we can only change the recipes and some of the item attributes, not everything works
just yet, there is no mod scripting support that i'm aware of.

You can just start a new game, save it, go to the saves folder, edit worldsettings.xml with notepad, and change:

<GameMode>Survival</GameMode>

to

<GameMode>Creative</GameMode>

it's about 3rd or 4th line from the top, when you next load the game, you be in creative mode.

Then you can use / key in the game for the creative menu, and the authoring tool to build stuff for free. F9 key will drop whatever you selected in the menu right in front of you. That makes the game about as easy as it gets. When you running out of air, just spawn another cylinder of oxygen and put it in your suit, same with batteries and stuff.

I made the infinite spray cans pretty much for the creative folks, that like to build but not necessarily like the survival aspect of the game.
TheWorkingMan43 13 Jun, 2019 @ 9:05am
Like I want the game easy as possiable
TheWorkingMan43 13 Jun, 2019 @ 9:04am
is there a way to edit the files like space engineers?
Dingo  [author] 12 Jun, 2019 @ 3:19am
@The MiningMan:

It'd be possible to make a battery with very large charge, and still have to charge it, just less often.
To make a battery infinite, you would need to change everything else to use no power, even then very cold places like europa would slowly sap the charge from the battery.
TheWorkingMan43 11 Jun, 2019 @ 3:26pm
Can you make a battery with infinite energy?
TheWorkingMan43 11 Jun, 2019 @ 3:26pm
1 iron to make paint, now if you need 1 iron and like a color flower...
Dingo  [author] 9 Jun, 2019 @ 3:51pm
20 charges per can just wasn't enough :)
Falco[Ger] 9 Jun, 2019 @ 7:47am
Since it can be cheesed anyway, this is great.
