It should.
Demognomicon 4.8.2024 klo 6.32
I don't guess this still works?

Good thing I found this mod, the fact that the AI was taking random systems multiple jumps away from their borders was annoying me. It never happens on the console edition (at least not until the AI discovers wormhole travel) so it pissed me off that it happens on PC.

Ran some tests, mod still works for me.
ranma100 11.12.2022 klo 10.37
Thanks, good to know you are still around.
Gawquon  [tekijä] 11.12.2022 klo 2.25
I'll look at it when I get time
ranma100 10.12.2022 klo 16.56
It looks like with 3.6.1 the AI is makimg starbases up to two jumps away from its border.

Thanks for looking into it again I appreciate it!

If anyone observes the AI ignoring this please let me know.
Gawquon  [tekijä] 25.6.2020 klo 14.52
Ok so I realized the problem which was silly, one of the updates after I stopped playing stellaris introduced a bug where local copies of a mod would break the downloaded one. This only should have broken the mod for me and I would think it should have been fine for anyone else. Regardless the public version is now working for me and should for everyone.
Gawquon  [tekijä] 24.6.2020 klo 13.38
It has not, I have been unable to determine the problem and have not had time to revisit this.

I notice the mod Author said they would look into fixing an issue in this mod back in early may... I was curious if said issue got resolved? Thanks

Thank you for looking into it.

Also observed between normal empires, time to go hunting in the files
Gawquon  [tekijä] 1.5.2020 klo 12.44
Hmm, it is broken (I'm seeing that now running some tests) although I have no idea why as Paradox did not change the relevant sections of the defines files, which is why I thought it should still work. Depending on how it is broken, there may or may not be a fix. So far I've only observed federation members jumping over each other, so some federation code might be the culprit. I'll set up a few more tests and see if I can diagnose it.

I started a new game and noticed the AI is still system jumping. So maybe logic issues?
Gawquon  [tekijä] 30.4.2020 klo 21.10
@g0ldheart_rr - The warning might complain about versions but it should still work. I'll check and update the version number soon though.
Demognomicon 30.4.2020 klo 20.59
Can this be updated?
ZAPierZeta 30.3.2020 klo 16.38
This mod is still relevent, the AI jumps all the time in non-sensical ways without it, I'm still subbing it, lol
ranma100 20.10.2019 klo 17.02
Love this mod
KnightofFarros 16.6.2019 klo 20.32
Should be. The mod was good while we needed it though. Thanks champ. And maybe people will prefer three jumps after the patch.
Gawquon  [tekijä] 16.6.2019 klo 12.46
@King Star King
Sadly it disables achievements. Even though it is a very minor change it does change a gameplay file which disables achievements. Some good news though is that in Beta Patch 2.3.2 they reduced the amount of systems the AI can jump from 5 down to 2. The whole AI expanding through forced open-borders after a war will still be a problem but it may be good enough to not want this mod.
King Star King 16.6.2019 klo 12.30
do this mod affects achivments? do i still get them? this is only mode i use.
KnightofFarros 13.6.2019 klo 19.16
Started by using the other mod, but am switching to this one because an ai that I went to war with to pen it into a corner is now expanding around me, because of post-war truce. Paradox should fix that.

@sokayha
Wow thanks, I knew about the other file thing but I made a dumb mistake when I forgot about putting the NAI = {} part. I'll update this immediately thank you.
Rotiti 12.6.2019 klo 4.35
Hi:

Your mod just need to put
--
NAI = {
MAX_EXPANSION_DISTANCE = 1 # Max number of jumps away AI will build starbases
MAX_EXPANSION_DISTANCE_SUBJECT = 1 # Max number of jumps away AI subjects will build starbases
}

--
these two lines in your define file, and need to use other file name such as naisj_defines.txt

or you will have a lot of conflict with other mods.
Gawquon  [tekijä] 11.6.2019 klo 8.27
@MihaP
Not in this fix. And I don't think one could disable it outright. Although it is possible to make the cost of expanding into a non-adjacent system cost more than the influence cap.
Nunatak 11.6.2019 klo 7.22
thanks for this fix!
MP 11.6.2019 klo 7.16
Would you also disable system jumping for players?
