Measure It!

If this were ever to be updated, it would be nice to have elevation/depth added.
AJ Varela 9 Sep, 2024 @ 5:03pm
Not working. Measurement don't change readings at all, only measure between 2 points seems to function (useless on its own)
HookerHeels 22 Apr, 2024 @ 2:58pm
This refused to show up in my game. Even unsubbed and resubbed. It shows up in Skyve and content mananger, but not in game, nor does it have any tab in the Options menu (it simply might not have any options) Any possible idea why?
Citadino 10 Nov, 2023 @ 12:58pm
Can you add a feature to this mod to measure the distance between segments? For example, measure the number of units/km/miles/meters for a highway from point A to point B (not linear)
tony.can 22 Jun, 2023 @ 10:08am
why can;t I move the icon?
Keallu  [author] 3 May, 2023 @ 10:25am
@StayHungryStayFoolish: You should be able to with the M-tool in this mod.
StayHungryStayFoolish 3 May, 2023 @ 9:21am
@Keallu I am looking mod, which can show me how height are nodes in networks or something. For example: I need to see nodes in my roads and their height like meters above sea level.
codewitch 1 May, 2023 @ 3:19pm
The info panel only works in the map editor / asset editor, with the exception of measuring things - any ideas? It's very useful for placing networks as well.
Witchberry 15 Apr, 2023 @ 3:29pm
@MarcPi tell that to Meesmoth bro, not me. I'm agreeing with CosmicFurFace here haha.
MarcPi 15 Apr, 2023 @ 10:47am
@Witchberry for what I understood with the information was published, modding and workshop will be a part of CS, so no need to worry about anyone "killing" modders or the game loosing any interest for that.
@CosmicFurFace totally agree with you. A CS2 is absolutely needed, now the game is so resources consuming. I have a quite good PC (32GB RAM and 4GB graphics) and is hard to handle more than 500 assets and an HD resolution. Let's hope that will be improved with the sequel.
lolman533 15 Apr, 2023 @ 2:49am
I love it so much, no need for the ruler mod anymore
Witchberry 10 Apr, 2023 @ 8:44pm
100% Agreed with you, CosmicFurFace. He acted like there won't be any mods in the sequel. The modding community ain't that fragile, it's not easy to "kill them off". Even games that doesn't officially support mods like Sims4's modding community yet they still thrives. A boom is to be expected here.
CosmicFurFace 10 Apr, 2023 @ 7:19pm
@Meesmoth Actually, I anticipate a boom in the modding community after the release of C:S2, simply because all the existing mods simply cannot be included into any base game. So if all those models of Chinese fire trucks and Tel Aviv apartments no longer work with the new game, there will be demand by the gamers, and the models will still be around to be tweaked into "new" mods.

Will C:S2 have a "measure" tool as @inguy24 yearns for? If not, will @Keallu be inclined to take this code and fit it into the new game's modding environment? And will our hopes for a better modding environment from Day 1 be fulfilled?

Unless something strategically self-destructive as "banning" mods is implemented, I think (and hope) many existing modders could be itching to get started in the new environment.
Witchberry 22 Mar, 2023 @ 6:02pm
@Meesmoth : But if we look at a different perspective, it is inevitable. As the game itself as already aged for more than 5 years. It needs a refresh in how the game engine works and manage the resources. This game could take a heck lot of DRAM and VRAM usage when it shouldn't be, espescially if you're using a lot of custom assets and have all of the DLCs (thank god LSM mitigate this issue a little bit). This game is also heavily dependant on single core performance while could only use a few cores (around 4 to 6 I think, I honestly forgot).
Meesmoth 19 Mar, 2023 @ 5:05am
...and that is why I oppose on having a sequel to this game. The modding community is going to be killed off as we restart from scratch in the new game.
Keallu  [author] 14 Mar, 2023 @ 5:42am
@inguy24: I will properly not do any more feature updates to this mod with Cities Skylines 2 announced. Sorry.
inguy24 13 Mar, 2023 @ 8:24pm
Not sure what I am doing wrong here, but it will only allow me to measure between two points. It still prompts to "add" more measure points, but it deletes the first point when you do that. In almost all cases, I need cumulative measurements, so I cannot measure most existing network features if they have curves, etc.

Furthermore, I cannot see the measurement as I drag between selecting the first measure point and the second, makes it hard to use for measuring for sign placement, etc. (i.e. I need to see when I have hit 1 mile, not keep taking measurements until I get close.)

Perhaps I am using this wrong, but I followed the documentation that was on this page. For the reasons stated above, I have found I don't really use this mod at all. Hopefully you are looking to update the mod to add needed functionality in the future. It is a nice concept though.
AkalaMangala 14 Feb, 2023 @ 6:58am
@Keallu. Hey great job with the mod. Would you consider adding the functionality to chain measurements so that someone can measure along a winding path?
Keallu  [author] 6 Jan, 2023 @ 4:23am
@Rexhead: Not the same, but similar.
arthraix 5 Jan, 2023 @ 4:02pm
Is this mod the same thing as Precision Engineering?
Keallu  [author] 26 Dec, 2022 @ 5:49am
Mod is compatible with Cities Skylines 1.16.0-f3 (Financial Districts).
otrwalter 19 Dec, 2022 @ 7:32am
A ONE-CLICK loader for all the IT! MODs in the Workshop, all that are up-to-date, that is.

Mod is compatible with Cities Skylines 1.15.1-f4 (Roads & Vehicles).
Asgeir 22 Nov, 2022 @ 2:39pm
how do i keep the info box open during road construction?
MainKuat 10 Oct, 2022 @ 11:08pm
i just confirm that this mod conflict with upgrade untouchable mod, author should mention in desc.
it make the info panel not appear.
MainKuat 9 Oct, 2022 @ 10:48pm
doesn't work with road/network. only work with 2 point. no matter how i try. already deleted config file. still not working. more tutorial / setting how to use tq. just like faby9344 said.
StayHungryStayFoolish 15 Sep, 2022 @ 2:43pm

Measure It! is fully compatible with Plazas & Promenades DLC.

Please follow the Plazas & Promenades DLC Compatible modlist.

How do I measure the radius of a curved road?
I cannot mark mort than just the 2 end-points, because MI only allows me to have 2 points down at a time--every time I left click to put down a third point, the first point disappears.
faby9344 24 Jul, 2022 @ 12:22pm
@Keallu: I tried to delete the config file and restart the game, but not working. Tried also to unsubscribe and subscribe it again, in vain.
The problem, actually, is not the M button. The infobox just appears for measuring between points, and disappears as soon as I use the road drawing tool, while the M remains lighted. The infobox should be fixed on the same position.
Keallu  [author] 22 Jul, 2022 @ 12:52am
@Pnevma: Try deleting the confile file and restart game. It will reset the panel positioning.
Neverminder 22 Jul, 2022 @ 12:50am
yeah, the infobox doesnt show up for me either, but it's prolly just hidden somewhere too, ill try it again alone on vanilla with nothing else clogging up my UI to see if it's just blotted out
Keallu  [author] 22 Jul, 2022 @ 12:41am
@faby9344: As @djoe and @Pnevma are mentioning - could the infobox be hidden behind something else? If you use several mods, the top of the screen is often congested with UI-elements.
Keallu  [author] 22 Jul, 2022 @ 12:39am
@Pnevma: The infobox should appear everytime you use a relevant tool. The "M"-icon is for free measuring without using a tool.
faby9344 17 Jul, 2022 @ 10:05am
I have the same issue of @squirrel_coat, so measure between two point works properly, but when I try to draw a road, the infopanel disappears. It worked perfectly before.
Neverminder 15 Jul, 2022 @ 10:34am
@djoe thank you, i tried it again on a vanilla installation and i see the icon now. for me, it's blocked by toggle it which is very necessary for me to have lol

i was able to figure out how to move the icon though so now i can have both installed probably. i thought the UI for this would just automatically come up when measuring roads
djoe 11 Jul, 2022 @ 6:33am
@Pnevma: I had the same issue, but it was only the button that was hiding behind another menu, in my case the Show It! menu.
Neverminder 9 Jul, 2022 @ 8:46am
is there a keybinding i'm supposed to press to activate this? i ran it through compatibility checker and it's not conflicting with anything. no interface comes up and i've never been able to use this since installing it. do i click "M" as in the keyboard button or is there a UI button that looks like the letter M?

is my ability to read insufficient, i feel like i'm just missing something obvious
MisterVideosoEx 5 Jun, 2022 @ 11:58am
You should add miles
Keallu  [author] 4 Jun, 2022 @ 8:53am
@Geo Urb: That is not required. it is up to you. There might be some overlapping information.
Geo Urb 2 Jun, 2022 @ 7:24pm
Should I unsubscribe to Precision Engineering?
Keallu  [author] 12 May, 2022 @ 12:55am
@ArdaRand: Only length. Area is not planned. What do you need it for?
ArdaRand 10 May, 2022 @ 1:51am
Can this mod measure area? If not are you planning to add the feature?
Keallu  [author] 9 Mar, 2022 @ 11:57pm
@squirrel_coat: Maybe you have moved the panel out of screen. Do you use UIResolution?

Try deleting the config file and then restart the game.
squirrel_coat 7 Mar, 2022 @ 8:51pm
The measurements no longer come up when I am building roads. I looked in the mod settings and couldn't find a button to enable/disable that feature. How can I turn it back on?
Keallu  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 7:01am
@渚薰: You are welcome.
渚薰 1 Feb, 2022 @ 6:11am
Thank you a lot.
Keallu  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 5:56am
@渚薰: As far as I know you can use Network Multitool instead of Upgrade Untouchable.
渚薰 1 Feb, 2022 @ 5:27am
It's Upgrade Untouchable: Convert stations from Klyte45.
Keallu  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 2:09am
@渚薰: Other mods like? You need to be more specific. Try enabling one mod at a time to find out which one is causing issues.
渚薰 1 Feb, 2022 @ 12:37am
When I just enabled measure it and toggle it, I can use the function shown in P1; after I reenabled other mods, it isn't functioning.
