Great mod! I sometimes struggle with noise-induced hearing loss, so this might help me a bit. Altho i would like to see the mod being able to be centered, having it grow left or right side just looks plain horrible when trying to centre (I thank my OCD for that). Anyway thanks for the mod :steamhappy:

Can you please apply this for sanction? This is something me and a lot of people would be thankful for

Any way we can get a way to change the default position of the widget like how UI tweaks has? Having to reposition the widget out of the center of the screen everytime you boot up the game because of visibility issues is annoying.

Like Ghuldarkar, the argument that it'd be advantage to hearing players is really joke. This game should be having accessibility options from the beginning, and therefore, it'll give deaf people a reason to at least have fun to play this game. Just please, for deaf people's sake including mine, sanction this, Fatshark. Or at least, add the god damn accessibility option in next DLC/hotfix update.
Furang 26 Jun, 2021 @ 8:54am
This should have been in the game since day 1. What a joke.
Ghuldarkar 15 Mar, 2021 @ 9:16am
The argument that this would be an advantage to hearing players is absurd. Visual reaction time, especially to things that are on the side and colour coded or similar is much higher than aural reaction time. If you can hear but need this to be able to react to different things you are functionally deaf anyway in this specific issue. Sanction this, Fatshark!

I'm deaf and play with sound, my friend is hearing and his sound card is broken - between us, we have sod all warning in every regard, haha. I realise Devs might be dubious about the "advantage" here - but as d/Deaf gamer, for the love of Grimnir, sanction this.

I don't use this mod, but I noticed some players seem oblivious to events happening right behind them, so I'm giving you a thumb up

Good stuff!
I'm not hearing impaired myself, but I have friends who are, hoping this will get whitelisted someday.

@greenpakto Hi there. We've opted not to do that with mod as hearing loss is not a with or without sort of thing, and we'd like the mod to be flexible towards that. Assisting rather than conflicting. Users should not be punished in order to access accessibility. It is up to the user whether they would like to add this to their experience or not, and we like to think Fatshark will weigh that into consideration.

One thing that wasn't mentioned here was that the mod was developed, while to aid hearing impairments, does not denote directions of duplicate specials. So if there is more than one assassin up at a time, for example, the mod will only show the direction of one. This helps allow some level of fairness as well.

My hearing loss is not complete and I still die to disablers and specials. It is a tool rather and a complete and pinpoint accurate solve.

Good job!

If you want this to be approved id say it should only work when master sound is disabled in options... I don't think FS will sanction it otherwise, its an obvious cheat if you have both sound and visual.

if it isnt yet, this should be approved soon. pretty important for making the game acseable.

I honestly expected this to be a core feature.

When I got an audio signal for a disabler and killed it, I often got surprised by a 2nd disabler of the same type (which also none of my allies heard, so it's not just me).
Now I find myself assuming that disablers are always present and ignoring audio signals as they are more misleading than helpful due to the false sense of security after a kill.
I highly doubt that this result is intentional.

Visual telegraphing is standard procedure nowadays, and Vermintide is already utilizing this for other things.
It would support the intention of giving the human player a chance to prepare for a threat, and account for humans being more visual than auditory creatures.

(I'd go even further: The kill tracker is a core feature. Have it display active enemies permanently and and cross them out when they die. A mod that streamlines the list has already been sanctioned, this wouldn't be so diffeent.)

good

As it is a co-op game with the big part of a challenge implemented by player itself (Leg+, using non-meta builds you like etc.), I find it's ok. Good to know this issue is adressed and worked on by you.

noble goal. I doubt it will be sanctioned, however.
Stormer 22 Jun, 2019 @ 3:58pm
I feel like this would be better balanced if instead of icons, it added subtitles similar to left for dead, where it'll say "Warning, Incoming Assassin" when the spawn sound of an assassin comes, but I don't know how balanced this would be either

Don't get me wrong it's a noble goal, and I want this to get sanctioned, but one of the rules to get sanctioned is that it doesn't provide a big advantage, which this could if it still points out specials in a horde. Like a Packmaster is waddling inside of a chaos horde, a person with this mod would see, someone without it wouldn't, therefore this mod provides too big of an advantage. I can't program no do I know balance all too well, so I can't really help, however I do want to see this improved and tweaked so it gets added, you know?
EXAN  [author] 18 Jun, 2019 @ 8:08am
@sir duckyweather: I have some plans to implement the icons a bit more so they're not so cheesable for those of regular hearing, but not sure how FS will feel about getting this sanctioned. We will see!
Sir Duckyweather 17 Jun, 2019 @ 4:53pm
This sounds (har har) great for the hearing impaired! I'm not sure what kind of tweaking you'll have to do to get it to not be considered a "cheat" though, but good luck to you.
