Report a translation problem
For the attacking buildings, I have noticed since the recent Petroglyph updates that a LOT of units seem to not attack structures at all. Melee units totally ignore them and other types of units have a difficult time targeting them unless they are extremely close. However, some inconsistency with attacking buildings has been an issue in this game for a very long time, particularly for CQC units like the Commandos.... Which is why the Jedi in the base game were given the "earthquake" force ability specifically for structures. Because melee attack vs buildings is wildly inconsistent. So, idk how to rectify this without giving all CQC units a building-specific attack ability or similar.
Basically, I don't know if the author has tried this yet, but have you tried saving and uploading the imperial remnant faction a couple of times? If not, I would suggest giving it a try. That's what triggers the crash for me.
