@theirishturtle Sure! Please credit me in the description as well!
Turtle-Gal 7 Aug, 2020 @ 1:25pm
Can I include this in my mod?
tomknudsen37 9 Jan, 2020 @ 5:45am
ok, thanks
Gandalf the Black  [author] 9 Jan, 2020 @ 5:40am
@tomknudsen37 No, it's just feudal elective, Byzantine, Roman and Holy Roman succession
tomknudsen37 8 Jan, 2020 @ 6:44am
does it work for elective_gavelkind
darkemperor 17 Sep, 2019 @ 5:39am
ok thanks :)
Gandalf the Black  [author] 15 Sep, 2019 @ 1:16pm
@darkemperor Sorry, I don't think I can help with your problem. I will have a look into it, but it most likely will remain an issue. Thank you for your compliment about the mod :)
darkemperor 15 Sep, 2019 @ 5:20am
yes it does always. but whenever i use this mod the exporter takes all the time it needs but never exports the game. but i do like your mod since i sometime just want to play a simple game instead of HIP or CK2 plus
Gandalf the Black  [author] 14 Sep, 2019 @ 9:03am
@darkemperor I don't know why this mod would effect exporting to EU4. I don't have EU4 or the converter, so I can't test it, but have you confirmed that it works without this mod? I know the converter's meant to be a bit of a mess.
darkemperor 14 Sep, 2019 @ 8:01am
i cant export the game to eu4 while playing with this mod
[BRE] Ferri / Firias 7 Sep, 2019 @ 8:37am
Apparently it works now, without any reason. Thanks anyway, I'm happy to finally play with this essential mod (I mean, how can we not have an option to refuse the crown ?). By the way, it might be interesting to extend the concept to hereditary kingdoms or even duchies and why not the republics ?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 2 Sep, 2019 @ 1:49pm
@Yugoslav SFR
I don't have Horse Lords, so I could in theory, but I wouldn't be able to test it and it would end up being a trainwreck. However, anyone can make a submod for this mod to extend its function to nomads if they so wish.
Poffean 2 Sep, 2019 @ 11:56am
can you make a nomad version?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 2 Sep, 2019 @ 3:11am
@Firias Then I really don't know what the problem is. Are you sure the mod is installed properly and enabled?
[BRE] Ferri / Firias 1 Sep, 2019 @ 1:50pm
No that's not that, even if i'm glad for highlight that it's not my case, i'm a vassal of the kaiser. What i mean is if i'm elected kaiser i can't form swiss confederation anymore. The problem is i don't have the decision for refuse the crown.
Gandalf the Black  [author] 1 Sep, 2019 @ 10:50am
@Firias I think I understand your problem. You're saying that in your game as the Duke of Savoy, you're not a vassal of the Emperor? In that case you can't take the decision. I will update it now so that you don't have to be in the same realm. Thanks for your feedback
[BRE] Ferri / Firias 1 Sep, 2019 @ 7:31am
It was supposed to appear anytime or just when you was in the line of election ? Maybe have a claim on the empire don't allow to take the decision ?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 31 Aug, 2019 @ 8:25am
@Firias I don't see why it wouldn't appear. For the option to appear in the HRE, you just need to be a vassal of the Kaiser, and you can't already have opted out
[BRE] Ferri / Firias 31 Aug, 2019 @ 6:46am
The decision doesn't appear for me, for saved game or even new ones. In my saved game i play as a french duke of savoy who want to create the swiss confederation, but i can't if i'm not vassal of the kaiser. And everyone votes for me... Any idea of why it didn't appear ?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 20 Jul, 2019 @ 8:04am
@Griffith, Landon IRL @Buluc Chabtan I wasn't sure how much the AI would do it, but I've decided to just change it so that the AI can't take the decision anymore. Thanks for your feedback!
Sourenics 14 Jul, 2019 @ 2:28am
Yeah, not everybody refuses the crown, but members of your dynasty can automatically refuse it, which is nonsense. Also, why random people not even claimants of the throne refuse the crown on a primogeniture inheritance? I laugh so hard at this, because it's like: "Yeah, I know I'm not the firstborn. I'm not even member of your dynasty. Inheritance laws are not even elective but just in case, I don't want the crown, thanks. Signed: A random baron vassal of a random count which is also a vassal of a random viceroy none of whom are members of your dynasty .
Griffith, Edgerunner 12 Jul, 2019 @ 5:28pm
This is so fing annoying. Literally every single person in my dynasty instantly refuses the crown. Even like 2 year olds. I feel like this should be for players only or maybe tuned down a bit.
_wajakla_ 8 Jul, 2019 @ 6:06am
@Oof my Empire Thanks for your answer. Its not about cheating ... well not really, since I am mainly roleplaying. I have an immortal advisor whom I want to become cardinal, but not pope ^^ But I guess thats not really possible.
Lord Momo 7 Jul, 2019 @ 5:23pm
That's probably the reason, some mods create a different folder for their saves and cache files
Schmeeda 5 Jul, 2019 @ 8:37pm
No it is up to date, I am using a crap ton of mods which may be messing it up. idk
Elmer von Fudd 5 Jul, 2019 @ 3:54pm
I think that the decision should give you an opinion bonus with your liege after an election
Gandalf the Black  [author] 5 Jul, 2019 @ 3:32pm
@Melkor What version are those saves from? If they're from very outdated versions of the game, i.e. pre-Holy Fury, then it won't work because of the succession law added for Byzantium/Rome. I'll look into this issue and see if I can work out what the problem might be
Master Yonic 5 Jul, 2019 @ 2:02pm
for some reason its not showing up in my mods list :'(
Schmeeda 5 Jul, 2019 @ 9:43am
Idk whats wrong then because when I activate the mod it doesn't allow me to access my other saves. Could this be because of other mods I have active?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 5 Jul, 2019 @ 7:45am
@_wakakla_ You can give it to an NPC via console commands (the traits are as follows: refuses_imperium for the HRE, refuses_imperium_byz for Imperial Elective, and refuses_the_crown for Elective Monarchy). It doesn't work for cardinals, since it was only intended really for characters to make their own decision on. I wanted this mod to feel as if it could be used without feeling like cheating, so giving it the traits to other characters isn't really what it's meant for. Since the player can't become the Pope, I don't see any real reason to do that within the scope of this mod. If you want, you can always use console commands to excommunicate cardinals you don't like.
_wajakla_ 5 Jul, 2019 @ 6:20am
can you give this trait to NPC as well and if yes, do they prevent cardinals from being elected pope?
Gandalf the Black  [author] 5 Jul, 2019 @ 4:41am
@Melkor It shouldn't mess up your saves, but it's not Ironman compatible.
Schmeeda 4 Jul, 2019 @ 9:48pm
Is is possible for this mod to not disable my previous saves? If that isn't possible is there any way I can prevent being elected in vanilla? Kill voters?

IMCOMMI 4 Jul, 2019 @ 2:34am
I really need this
Lord Momo 3 Jul, 2019 @ 3:13pm
HIP already has this, so it's not needed, right click your own portrait and you should find it.
Alien 3 Jul, 2019 @ 11:17am
Yeah "IMPERIUM NON MIHI EST" is super-correct, and is actually better than using the possessive "meum", because "imperium non meum est" doesn't sound right in latin.
Gandalf the Black  [author] 2 Jul, 2019 @ 7:31am
@Ciprian_Bolun It's the possessive dative. If I used meus, it would have to be meum anyway, since it's neuter
Ciprian_Bolun1 2 Jul, 2019 @ 5:26am
Imperium non meus est* Correction. Mihi would mean to me
Jakub Platek Jestem #indor 2 Jul, 2019 @ 1:46am
You should name this mod ,,Jon Snow Syndrom''
Gandalf the Black  [author] 2 Jul, 2019 @ 1:43am
@Seses It should be, but I don't know for certain. I've added this to the mod description now, since several people are asking about HIP-compatibility.
falhxer 2 Jul, 2019 @ 1:33am
Well i could argue being emperor than being back to orignal dominions is also good roleplay and even better play tall, because more income etc etc, faster improvment etc etc. For example there are many good aars, like the Hohenzollern, but its cki, but neverless, totally possible in ckii also. But i also can understand people that desire to stay in the shadow and play a peaceful, great mod neverless, rated up.
Seses 1 Jul, 2019 @ 11:13pm
Is HIP compatible?
orion 30 Jun, 2019 @ 1:09pm
Great idea. Thumbs up.

Fine 30 Jun, 2019 @ 10:52am
this is the kind of thing that should be in the game by default, honestly.
Gandalf the Black  [author] 30 Jun, 2019 @ 10:52am
@小怪兽(=_=) I don't know for certain, but unless the mod has different succession types for the HRE and Byzantium, then it should be entirely compatible.
Norwegian Forest 30 Jun, 2019 @ 9:32am
Is HIP-mod compatible?
