~Minor Update~

General:
Harmless errors handled for biotech terms (they weren't used without biotech, but now standard Rimworld won't show any error).

Babies now fit in standard cribs.

Patch added for Way Better Romance, to enable having children at what makes sense for the Gerzee lifespan, rather than what was hard-coded for humans.

Stat debuff removed for doctoring and research (backstories already handle that lore part well enough on its own.

Gerzee no longer can have "ate without a table" thought.

Gerzee updated for biotech, specifically children. Age of lifestages changed to account for code requirements with biotech (e.g., full adult is now at 4 years old rather than 2.5).

I might look into genes specific to the Gerzee in the future too. I just need to learn how they work first.

Heads up that I'll be updating some things for 1.5 for biotech soon (focusing on updating the children code, especially since the old babies mod seems dead and not coming to 1.5). Github has the current copy of the mod now, should any issues arise.

Ah, sharing a hugslib log will contain a list of your mods and in order (for future reference).

So, by itself I'm not seeing your issue. So it looks like a mod conflict. You have quite a few mods (I do the same lol), so best I can do is suggest some that you could turn them off for a moment and see if that's the conflict: Animal Logic, Grazing Lands, and Assign Animal Food. I'd also double check that some mod didn't somehow turn kibble off as their assumed allowed food, aka double check their allowed foods.

Try those things first. If that doesn't work, share a hugslib and I'll see if I recognize any errors.

Huh. Can you share your modlist? Are you using ideology? And are you using 1.4 or 1.5?

I'm not seeing this issue in my test. So I need more info.

(In the meantime, if you want to keep playing before a fix, I'd recommend changing his food restrictions to not include kibble)

You might need to remove and re-add this mod. Missing a texture isn't normal. You might have a corrupted file (happens sometimes with Steam).

I also tried running the game with every mod you have in this last list except Royalty (which I don't own but has worked for others in the past just fine), and I don't get any error (i.e., when fast cycling though pawns at the start up screen all the way to executing a 10,000 point Gerzee raid).

If re-adding the Gerzee mods and removing Royalty doesn't fix the issue, I'll have to ask some outside help.

Yes, it's for 1,5:

No error on startup this time as I disabled Anomaly. This error comes from the start up pawn generation. It was acting really weird, I was getting humans (but also some Gerzee's.)

This sounds to me like a specific conflict with something you're using (as I play with 158 mods without anything breaking). From your list, the only one that I'm not actually semi-confident should work would be Anomaly since I don't own it (and I can't imagine Smart Speed or Rocketman being the issue).

Can you start a game without Anomaly and tell me if there's issues still? And this is for 1.5, right?

And when you say every once in a while the bodies dont generate, do you mean for Gerzee that newly come into the map, or when you load up a save?

I was so stoked to play your mod, until I literally couldn't. I don't play with that much mods 5-10. Which are mainly performance and stuff that doesn't really touch the game that much. I got this error on startup, and also pawn's bodies aren't generating. I couldn't replicate the error again as it happens every once in a while. I'll try to get a log of that.

Gerzee Love Roomies update (1.4-1.5)

• Gerzee have a buff to living in a barracks, as they love sleeping around members of their colony. Anything other than an awful barracks is a good thing to them.

• Gerzee now receive a single small mood buff if colonists are moving around them while they sleep (it makes them feel safe). So, opposite of sleep disturbed.

• Min comfortable temperature lowered to -45.

Small update:

Patch added for Way Better Romance. Gerzee will have relations as normal (e.g., hookups) at their adulthood, not Rimworld's default settings.

@tanitanino I'll ask sandstorm. Gerzee are working off of animal eating habits. It looks like sand covering plants prevents something from eating it, but I have no idea how Sandstorm prevents that error from popping up for regulars animals.

There seems to be an incompatibility with the Sandstorm mod, where Gerzee normally eats grass but is stuck in a loop with an error:

Sounds like a mod interaction to me. I've only heard of an issue like this maybe once before and it was also in a very large mod list. Feel free to post the hugs log / error report in the bug reports thread and I'll take a stab at it.

Hm, bummer, the gerzee won't actually do anything. There's jobs to do and he just stands there. Won't feed himself or go to sleep either :( Probably a mod interaction... I'm using quite a few. Possibly way too many

I love these big blue guys. Haven't played Rimworld in a long time and was happy to see this mod still alive!

I just started a Sanguophage scenario, and the follower pawn was a gerzee and he and the phage immediately fell in love. Can't wait to see what the future holds for this REALLY weird couple :steamthumbsup:

Update: Mood debuff removed for empty stomach. Some change in vanilla at some point made hay not get eaten until then, which made unnecessary mood debuffs happen.

Update:
Gerzee can now eat pemmican and no longer have "slept in heat" mood debuff. Wrathful faction updated for trading (e.g. if you can get them to stop trying to kill you they will visit, and sometimes try to sell guns they've pillaged from their enemies).

On pemmican:
Recently learned that real-life pemmican isn't made by cooking the ingredients. So lore-wise, Gerzee should be able to eat this. So, now they can.
