For everyone getting sound errors, extract Customizable Weaponry 2.0 from your addons folder through gmad. Then unsubscribe to Customizable Weaponry 2.0 and go into the new folder and go to lua/cw/shared/cw_sounds.lua. Open it with notepad and change all instances of CHAN_AUTO to CHAN_WEAPON. Then, save and place the new customizable weaponry folder in your addons folder and then the sound should be fixed.

Just make sure to grab all the things I listed and you shouldn't have a problem. Some of the other stuff is marked required but isn't actually technically required to make it work. If you still have problems after grabbing everything listed, just add me on steam and I'll help you sort it.

You'll need to make sure you have the required addons installed, as well as anything they require as well.

So, CW2.0, CW2.0 Extra, and CW2.0 KK INS2 which requires the latter 2, as well as all the content above, and it should work without needing to mount Insurgency.

Basically, you export the diffuse texture, layer the specular texture over it, lower the opacity and change it to only show the lightness I think it's called (at least in GIMP), and get the diffuse looking decent as far as brightness goes as best you can there. From there you have to make manual edits to brightness. Then setup the VMT like any other typical gun VLG shader.

Frankly if the gun already exists on VLG shaders, there's rarely a good reason to convert GGX down to VLG and try to do it that way, it'll never look exactly like the GGX version, and it'll probably look, at best, about as good as the current one. Just not worth it typically. Unless the GGX shaders themselves use a diffuse texture that looks exactly how it ought to on-model, which is rare, but sometimes that is the case and you just have to edit the VMT to be VLG (using the proper modifiers for VLG instead of GGX) and it comes out just fine with no image edits required.

No, I'm not dead nor have I left Gmod. Just haven't touched the SWEPs in awhile, been working on a Helix server for a long time on commission and just got some down time recently.

I'll be releasing all the old SWEPs + some new ones in a repacked format in the next week or two. Expect updates from there with a few new weapons atop what comes along with it. Currently it looks like, including the baseline INS content needed to use them, it'll be ~8 Packs. Content, Sound, ARs, Handguns, LMGs, Long Rifles, Shotguns, and SMGs.

I've figured out the problem with GGX Shaders, more specifically, I've found workarounds for it and ways to fix the textures for VLG shader application where necessary, so basically anything on the INS Workshop is now an option. If you have requests in specific, let me know while I still have time to work on it.

The VSS Vintorez is missing in this collection. There is also a bug with your weapons specifically where the sound of the firing a gun while moving dissappears. I cannot seem to figure out the root or conflict since it will seemingly work sometimes with the same addons and sometimes without.

I have 5 packs I've recently published that do fulfill the necessary content, I simply don't put them here since technically, you don't necessarily need the extra gig or so if you already own Insurgency. There's also other packs out there on the WS that fulfill this role.

this is fine what you said, the additional ammo entities should be added to the sound files so we can easily get ammo instead of a 3rd party addon that does it for us.

Sounds like you need some custom code. These SWEPs are, even still, designed with NS/Helix/CW/Etc. servers in mind since that's the audience I'm focused on here. Every weapon has its accurate IRL ammo type, there's even a difference between LMG box ammo and sniper rifle ammo, since the two are generally, while the same caliber, made to different standards.

If you need it for a server or even just to play with yourself, I'm happy to send you the code you need to install locally/on a server.

If what you need is additional entities for the ammo types added, I can certainly do that as well and add it to the sounds pack so you're guaranteed to have them all available as ammo packs. I generally just use the Ammo Crate entity and similar.

If none of that answers your question, feel free to add me and explain the full details.
