Thank you so much!

Yeah the current mod download issues are mostly realted to the current ns2 build 272 and will be fixed with the upcoming build 273.

For now i'll provide a gdrive mirror of my workshop folder here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_AoHvDBSRoDWjdXNjBFdFVsSnc&usp=sharing

The readme doc will tell you how to use it.

You might want to wait 10 mins after i posted this as i'm still uploading atm.

I have also downloaded the zip file of thsi mod from the Source code link but I do not know where to place it. Can you help please. Thanks.

For some reason your mod does not download. I subscribe, even restart the game but it says downloading then says unavailable. Does not even download 1%. Please fix :(

Getting "server mod out of date" when trying to join server.
Deleted whole Workshop folder. Still can't connect.

Could you disable HiveStats in the ns2stats config?
Vertex 24 Mar, 2014 @ 2:06pm
just found this... likely not related tho

don't have any error logs. the reason why i'm bring this up without errors is becuase i feel this is seperate from a corrupted stack as it happened in a much more frequencent interval and based on logs, the last cutoff point was round end ish, and this doesn't happen with 20 players or less OR with ns2 stats disabled.
Vertex 24 Mar, 2014 @ 1:22pm
just edited my post abit before you made yours, was populated for 4h not 12h. just rebooted the server 8h before. the server doesn't run out of memory and crash excessively every 4 -8 hours. it instead lasts atleast 24h before getting anywhere near a corrupted stack.

also it could have been a round end event rather than map change.

i've ran the server for over a week on 22 players (without ns2 stats) without having this issue. twice now its crashed in an excessively short period of time running ns2 stats. if i disable ns2 stats or decrease the player count to 20 it doesn't excessively crash every 4-8 hours.

Part 1
About those server crahses. That's probebly my favorite vanilla issue ever called "corrupted stack".

Remember those 32bit issues after Reinforcement, yep that's the same issue.

The mods itself don't cause the issue just can higher the chance that the issue occurs as every mod increases the total useage of memory cache (but don't ask me to fix that as i don't have access to the spark engine source )

So my question for you: Did your server was running populated 12 hours before? Do you have any ns2stats / shine errors in the log or and segfault pointing towards ns2stats or shine?
Ghoul  [author] 24 Mar, 2014 @ 12:37pm
Part 2

Also i don't want to sound mean but i looked at your serf perf log. And your server even seems to have issues handling 18 ppl at vanilla with 30 ticks (http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/servers/1176874/31.186.251.236:27056/)

Little tipp: Daily restarts and crash checks safe the day. Every NS2 Server should have a crash check running imho at least because of workshop timeout issues.

BTW: I investigated into the perf issues this weekend and wasn't able to see any dropp cause by ns2stats higher than 1 tick.
Vertex 24 Mar, 2014 @ 12:33pm
server crashed after like 4h of being populated when increasing the player count from 20 to 22. (for like the second time) no such issue with ns2 stats disabled. this happened somewhere between round end and changing maps. the funny part is this never happens with a 20 player count or less.

I've done alot testing in the past with ns2stats to make sure it doesn't decrease the serv perf. in noticable ways.

I will do another perf. test round this weekend.

Could i get the name of your server?
Vertex 21 Mar, 2014 @ 1:16pm
webadmin is disabled. the hostings upload speed is like 1 Gbps. the tickrate is at 30 like over 95% of the time. (with the 20 player max). i've overall just seen less tickrate drops of sorts with ns2 stats disabled.
Ghoul  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 6:02am
There is no need for ns2stats to track the tickrate so far as alltickrates are tracked by this site since along time: http://ns2servers.devicenull.org/

About those tickrate dropps: Do you se the webadmin ?

Because it causes tickrate dropps deluxe, just look at this: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/comment/2189619/#Comment_2189619

NS2Stats itself only can cause some network issues if the servers upload bandwidth is to low.

NS2Stats constanly uploads log parts to the ns2stats.com servers, so the only major network issue i have noticed so far at major servers is at the roundend when ns2stats need to upload the rest of the log together with the hive data.

If you have tickrate issues i would suggest to disable the "Statusreport" ( aka Live Stats ).

I will look at this again over the weekend but so far i never heard of ns2stats causing hugh tickrates dropps on descent servers.

OFC you shouldn't run NS2Stats if you allready have tickrate and bandwidth issues without it.
Vertex 20 Mar, 2014 @ 3:51pm
has anyone seen any decreased server perfromance in relation to having ns2 stats installed? ie. sudden tickrate drops then back up again?

ran my server without ns2 stats for 2 weeks. just recently i decreased the player count from 22 to 20 and installed ns2 stats. i'm observing more sudden tickrate drops then ever before. with the decreased player count, the average tickrate is however abit higher than previously.

i've noticed ns2 stats has decently high refresh intervals which could potentially explain this. the idea of sending data in bursts rather than a more constant method of transmission (ie. lower refresh intervals)

is there any possibily ns2 stats could track the server tickrate if it doesn't alway do this?

SHine is awsome, so is this mod, I think you'll find It's Linux thats shit, goodbye noob
Ghoul  [author] 19 Jan, 2014 @ 6:10am
@StockholmSyndrome: Add me directly at steam so we can solve this via pms.

I'm going to fix that sh_loadplugin bug with the next ns2stats version. Butthere has to be another issue your server is not reporting to ns2stats.com (we changed ips to a new server maybe the dns cache hasn't updated yet)
Stock 19 Jan, 2014 @ 4:39am
Hello! Could you please help me with NS2Stats.
For the last few days, it is not transmitting the round data anymore and I have no idea why.
If I enter "sh_loadplugin ns2stats", this comes out:

http://pastebin.com/afLfyh4t

What could I do to make it work again?
I cleaned out the Workshop folder and made sure NS2Stats is enabled in Shine's baseconfig.
Ghoul  [author] 17 Jan, 2014 @ 11:00am
In fact is has something to do in the way uwe handles workshop and mods in generell.

But this is still no reason to blame me, the ns2 linux version is still beta.

BTW. Great you found a fix, ill share it with the rest of the ppl.
Prydzen ᛋᛟ 17 Jan, 2014 @ 10:59am
it has 0 to do with distro.
Prydzen ᛋᛟ 17 Jan, 2014 @ 10:58am
anyway the fix is to subscribe to the mod and empty the workshop folder.
Prydzen ᛋᛟ 17 Jan, 2014 @ 10:52am
i know modders cant do much about it but thanks anyway for this shit mod.
Ghoul  [author] 17 Jan, 2014 @ 10:51am
Thanks for your kind words :S,

but it's not our fault at all.
Look at this: https://github.com/Person8880/Shine/issues/307
Prydzen ᛋᛟ 17 Jan, 2014 @ 10:42am
mod is shit just like shine is, high preobabilitiy of giving you an error trying to join a server with this mod.
[ZM] Darkflame 24 Oct, 2013 @ 4:06pm
Yeah i was thinking of doing this, going to wait to see if it happens regularly, then decide.

Keep up the good work on the mod :)
Ghoul  [author] 24 Oct, 2013 @ 11:43am
Best way to avoid this is to create you own workshop mod like hbz and some other did it. So you can controll the update time yourself. But that's also not optimal.
[ZM] Darkflame 24 Oct, 2013 @ 5:46am
Yes but it's far from ideal, it's a flaw within the game its self.

I spoke to Person about it already, the game locks people out of the server until the next map change so when people rage quit (as they usually do) during the duration of a long game, no one can come into to replenish the team losses and this can lead to a whole server completely emptying.

It happened to one of my servers the other day.

I try to keep my mods down to minimum because of this issue.
Ghoul  [author] 23 Oct, 2013 @ 9:27am
Last updates where pretty often because i changed the hole hitlogging system (was quiet messy).
There wont be so many updates in the future, also have you tried to use this (https://github.com/Person8880/Shine/wiki/Workshop-Updater)?
[ZM] Darkflame 22 Oct, 2013 @ 3:54pm
Damn, you been updating this a lot over the last week.

Any idea when the updates are going to slow down?

I appreciate the work but when ever the mod gets updated, my server gets player locked for a game due to the update and this can cause a server to empty :P
Ghoul  [author] 19 Oct, 2013 @ 4:21pm
Still trying to optimize things more. If you have any problems contact me
[ZM] Darkflame 19 Oct, 2013 @ 4:09pm
I've got it running fine now :)

I unstinstalled and deleted all the files from the older version of ns2 stats.
Ghoul  [author] 14 Oct, 2013 @ 2:18pm
Could i get some details about your server?
[ZM] Darkflame 14 Oct, 2013 @ 3:14am
Tried this version of stats but server would crash every so often so had to disable it, servers been fine since.

Using the latest version of Shine.
