Appreciate the response and insight, might try that combination approach and see if that works out.
Honestly, I don't perfer it, especially because this mod is still a WIP and things are subject to change, and if you're taking the texture files out of my mod, you will not be recieving the proper updates to fix things.
HOWEVER, I did allow someone else to use in their campaign so I will allow it ONLY IF the following terms and conditions are met:
You:
- Are granted explicit permission from myself to modify content within the .pbo file.
- Give Proper credits somewhere within your mission.
- Credits and Link to this mod within your workshop page if the workshop file contains my mod..
- Also You will not re-purpose, modify, or re-upload my mod or use it in anyway to make an addon of your own. That includes the .PBO and everything contained inside that .pbo unless you my permission to do so.
Failure to follow these terms and conditions will deny you permission of use.
Thank you. :D
(Also great missions btw, tried it out, enjoyed it)
Just wondering if I have your permission to use just the texture files in my mission without running the mod itself?
I've developed an open world dynamic mission (Direct Action: Dynamic Missions | Altis) which is designed to run on vanilla public servers. I'm loading custom textures from a texture folder in the mission pbo itself so that players automatically download them when they join the server instead of having to run a mod.
Let me know if that's alright!
Tbh the biggest setback for me was I am not a texture artist, so what I had at the time really held me back from going full potential. Plus I don't remember how to code anymore so making this would take forever. Perhaps if I had some extra help I wouldn't mind. Mainly on the Assembling of Mod and stuff. The texture stuff wouldn't be too bad. I want to say the Gripen plane (I can't remember the arma name for it) is fully finished and is final form. The helicopter was given a update that made it more duller and dirtier and kinda grittier looking and not so cartoony. The only parts to really work on the land vehicles, the propeller plane, and perhaps a redo on some of the land vehicles. I def want to add another vehicle into the collection. This takes a lot of work but the reward of you guys downloading and seeing it on the front page is so damn satisfying. :D
Its a lot harder man, especially when you start adding in dirt templates and stuff. Its a PITA to color match. I just fine tune the colors based off of in game. The process is long and tiring.
Unfortunately I don't have one single color template as what you would see in the skin would appear way different in game, especially when the sun hits it and etc.
specify that this is your job in the missions description.
Thank you for your great job.

Dropped by to say I was thinking up a similar project. Interested in chatting?
Because the units that spawn in the helicopter are from the LDF faction. The aircraft is also located under the LDF faction. Not having the Contact DLC content won't let you spawn it.
For those of us on beta, we already have access to most of the Contact DLC stuff.
did someone reupload this?

Stay tuned for more.
(Also would you guys prefer a pack or just individual releases?)
That wouldn't be a bad idea. I might try something like that. We'll see how complicated the templates were.
The texture template for this aircraft was a PITA. Parts of the aircraft were scattered, some stuff is mirrored so I can't add text to it. (Example is the tail of the helicopter where the red is, that is actually mirrored and is one piece, so if I put text along the line, it would come out backwards.
I'll try to work on some others.
No, they don't. They're a landlocked nation, but I figured it would be nice to have in case you guys wanted to do a map like Malden or something. Its also just a "White template" for really any purpose. The green and Camo are the main things.
