Maybe? I don't use Trom but it should work unless it makes its own changes to the Han Empire faction.

thanks a lot,very useful mod!
Scicotheron  [author] 13 Mar, 2021 @ 10:32am
Also when titles were added the ai is spastic with adding and removing titles and ancillaries on characters so his satisfaction might not be actually be at 0 at the turn. Characters leaving the ai is a bit more unpredictable without forcing through spies or making everyone leave on turn one from dissatisfaction. (which is what this mod used to do before I changed it)
Scicotheron  [author] 13 Mar, 2021 @ 10:28am
@ChaoS Yeah I've seen that a bit when I was testing the mod again, the character doesn't immediately leave probably due to character refresh pool on a timer or some preemptive ai cheat/measure that prevents character from leaving immediately.

Xu Huang still left after another 2 turns and there is still turncoats that can be used either on him to extract or another to increase his dissatisfaction.
ChaoS 13 Mar, 2021 @ 9:52am
xu huang 0 satisfaction but still hes stayin in court
ChaoS 13 Mar, 2021 @ 9:51am
Still doesnt working. -50 satisfaction coming but they'r not leaving the han empire. 0 satisfaction staying in han

Yo I just wanted to let you know that the mod seems to be working now.

When the next dlc comes out I'll create a separate mod that acts like the old version that ejected han empire characters at the start of the campaign or if the mod is loaded mid campaign. Thus it would be up to the player to choose if they wanted to recruit these characters or let them roam to other factions.

For now I'll simplify this mod so there is only one delayed effect after 10 turns. I'll also leave a tiny bit of satisfaction penalty at the start so one can know if the mod is loaded or not.
Scicotheron  [author] 27 Jan, 2021 @ 12:13pm
Okay so some observations after testing the mod:
The effects of this mod work for 194 start.

The delayed satisfaction effect might not be ending to due a similar bug people observed where estate income/titles weren't working upon reloading a save. (I wouldn't be able to fix this besides shortening the effect duration)

Characters with low satisfaction leave at the start of the campaign but don't leave if they fall below the threshold say 1 turn after; this is either a bug in the game or there is a timer that prevents characters constantly abandoning a faction (I don't have the time to figure out if a workaround is possible)

Most characters that fall below a certain satisfaction can be recruited from the spy menu as turncoats; this allows the player to use them as spys in the faction or can use an action to extract them from the faction

Initial han empire characters in 194 don't seem to want to turn into turncoats (haven't tested 180 yet)
Mopei_ECO200Y 27 Jan, 2021 @ 6:38am
Yo I did a run in the 194 start, is your mod still working? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/451834312875180054/803996393244196914/unknown.png
Scicotheron  [author] 1 Jan, 2021 @ 2:31pm
That's not a bad idea
Mopei_ECO200Y 1 Jan, 2021 @ 9:44am
Would it work if that drastic -100 satisfaction penalty kicks in like after 40 turns while the regular -30 kicks in after 20 turns? Cause after 40 turns the Han is just hoarding chars just for the point of hoarding chars. I would also be cool with -100 penalty after 20 turns if you choose to do that too.
Scicotheron  [author] 1 Jan, 2021 @ 7:51am
I don't really have a good solution right now besides jacking up satisfaction penalties till the game decides it wants to kick out characters, there must be some bug with characters bordering 0 satisfaction and the ai boosting/losing it by constantly promoting/giving titles. I can take a drastic action by setting satisfaction penalty to -100 to kick characters that have high base satisfaction like zhuge liang or liu bei.
Mopei_ECO200Y 31 Dec, 2020 @ 11:49pm
It seems to have improved a bit after you tweaked it, though the problem where certain characters still stay in the faction despite 0 satisfaction persists. I'm fine with Xu Huang having 10 satisfaction, just don't think that the guys with 0 satisfaction should stay.
Scicotheron  [author] 31 Dec, 2020 @ 10:59pm
Yeah I think it's some bug/feature in the base game that halts characters from leaving or something idk. For Xu Huang it's worth seeing if he is available to turn turncoat as afterwards you can use a spy action to extract him to your faction.
Mopei_ECO200Y 31 Dec, 2020 @ 10:45pm
Yo, the situation seems to get better with the Han hoarding fewer chars but there is still the problem of character who have negative satisfaction staying with the Han.

I kind of hope the han empire isn't present in the next chapter dlc, they've been a void that sucks characters and money but are a nusiance to defend because they won't build armies.
Mopei_ECO200Y 31 Dec, 2020 @ 9:41am
Alright, I'll update you with more info in a couple of hours when I play the game again to see how it goes after you've made the changes.
Scicotheron  [author] 31 Dec, 2020 @ 9:22am
@Mopei_ECO200Y I don't see anything suspect in the mod list; every time I've tested changes to satisfaction/upkeep I've seen immediate changes once the mod was loaded (characters were booted from low satisfaction). I'm not sure if there is some cooldown for characters leaving a faction or if the character script starts to break down later in the game (an issue not caused by this mod as I've not modified anything script related).

At the very least the mod update should prevent numerous characters showing up in the han empire's character pool in future sessions as I'd overlooked changes CA made to ai character salaries last patch.
Mopei_ECO200Y 31 Dec, 2020 @ 6:04am
Ok, I'll check out the game again in a couple hours, thanks for the fix. The other mods I am using are: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/451834312875180054/794203830405038100/a9740103f427fc22.png

Am I correct to assume that there will be no more characters with 0 or below satisfaction staying with the Han after your update? I thought that any characters with a satisfaction with 0 and above are supposed to automatically leave the faction unless something is bugged?
Scicotheron  [author] 29 Dec, 2020 @ 1:48pm
Okay I updated the mod to increase upkeep again for han empire characters so they hopefully won't recruit as many characters later into the game, as well as increased the satisfaction penalty to -30. If anyone has any future late game campaigns with characters not leaving or many characters being hoarded then please post screenshots and list any other mods you might have installed.
Scicotheron  [author] 29 Dec, 2020 @ 12:48pm
Also as a side tangent, I don't know wtf happened in a previous update but I swear the ai's character salary is way lower then before, probably had something to do with the ai constantly dismissing characters.
Scicotheron  [author] 29 Dec, 2020 @ 12:32pm
@Mopei_ECO200Y I'm honestly not sure as I've hadn't had this issue before when testing this mod out (like setting a really high value to force leaving). Maybe there is something in the late game that prevents characters from leaving in mass or the ai script for making characters leave gets messed up when reloading saves.
Mopei_ECO200Y 29 Dec, 2020 @ 12:19pm
Yo why is the Han not firing char who have 0 satisfaction on your mod?

Updated the mod to add back in -20 satisfaction to han empire characters, will kick in after 25 turns if on a new campaign while it will activate immediately on existing saves.
BloodyPork 19 Oct, 2020 @ 10:12am
This mod doesn't even work anymore. Han empire have a bunch of generals at 0 satisfaction and they never leave.
Mopei_ECO200Y 27 Sep, 2020 @ 2:07am
Ok, hopefully you go back to that idea because before I was able to get the right characters during the mid game but not early game thanks to that system. Now it's a real pain to get certain characters to leave once they are picked up by the Han since the Han doesn't seem to be suffering any form of lack of purpose or desire for higher court position penalties for some characters at all.
Scicotheron  [author] 26 Sep, 2020 @ 11:03am
I might go back to that idea at a latter point, haven't had the time to do long campaigns to see if any high loyalty characters wind up completely impossible to leave like what someone reported for liu bei/zhuge liang.
Mopei_ECO200Y 26 Sep, 2020 @ 2:20am
Xu Huang and Taishi Ci wasn't getting any "desire for higher court position" and "lack of purpose" penalty at all during my runs so I found it strange. Maybe it has something to do with the game itself and not the mod. I still liked the - 20 faction prestige which kicked in after a certain amount of turns like how the mod used to be before.
Scicotheron  [author] 20 Sep, 2020 @ 8:58am
@Mopei_ECO200Y I didn't do anything regarding removing "desire for higher court/lack of purpose" as such accumulate when the character isn't in court/doing anything. The generic han empire still has titles/court/assignments to counteract this.

Something worth trying is discredit character/faction then try to turn Xu Huang into a turncoat, then use extract spy to get him out and into your faction.
Mopei_ECO200Y 19 Sep, 2020 @ 9:40pm
He's also outside the satisfaction level where you can make him quit with a spy, and this is already past the first few turns of the game so he should at the very least have normal penalties of "desire for higher court position" or "lack of purpose" when undeployed because otherwise the Han would hoard him forever.

Mopei_ECO200Y 19 Sep, 2020 @ 9:29pm
Yo Xu Huang stays with the Han even until turn 40 undeployed because the "lack of purpose" doesn't kick in even when he's idle and not deployed. Did you remove the "lack of purpose" penalty from the Han altogether? Because even without the penalty to prestige they should still get a "lack of purpose" modifier just like any other faction if the character isn't deployed. I get it that you don't want the Han to leave at turn 1 or turn 2 but by like turn 40 when Xu Huang and Taishi Ci's army is defeated and just sitting there in the Han pool something should be done about it cause otherwise they remain stuck there forever.
Aimano 8 Sep, 2020 @ 1:10pm
Wait, so now Taishi Ci won't disband and turn up in the character pool anymore on turn 2? if so that's actually really neat and better.
