That's great to hear! I'm glad you had a good time with it :chirp:

Lovely map! Thanks! A real challenge to build my city on this one. The hills, mountains and valleys have entertained me for weeks.

The theme was chosen for the lighting rather than the housing, which you can change by using custom buildings. There's a lot of UK style houses and commercial that look great. The European theme buildings are Central Europe (Germany) rather than anything close to Irish style.
Gingerying 12 Aug, 2024 @ 12:24pm
I was excited to try this out but disappointed to see it's 'Temperate' instead of 'European'. Meaning I assume things like schools, etc will look North American rather than something that would fit in with Ireland?
MrMiyagi  [author] 11 Mar, 2024 @ 2:20pm
Hi! I totally agree. When this map was made, we only had large highways available. Today I would have used the 2x2 highway that's now possible in vanilla instead of a separated highway. Even a 2x2 is big for Ireland but the highway congestion between neighbors would get insane if you only use 1x1 "national highway". Have fun!

Awesome map. personally I don't like starting with massive interstates and interchanges so I went in and changed them to smaller highways but the map itself is amazing. thanks for the hard work
mrbunny 22 Jan, 2024 @ 5:37am
is there a way to get the older version of the map where the highway is connected like in the discription pic?
MrMiyagi  [author] 12 Jun, 2023 @ 1:10pm
Thanks very much! I'm glad it's given you a lot of fun. :)

Still haven't found a map better than this to spend another 200 hours+ on, would still be on it if updates had made it impossible to use my older saves. Other than that nothing I could say bad about this map, best map. x

Springwood map theme and Relight Cool LUT.
MrMiyagi  [author] 6 May, 2022 @ 1:44pm
@'Pulsee thanks! Although his video says he's playing vanilla, he's using a custom map theme. I don't know which one but in any event a map theme really isn't a mod anyway, but it changes the looks entirely. As for my pictures above, they include images using no map theme (vanilla), Celtic Coast and Not So Rocky Hills. The links to those map themes are right above these comments ^^.
Try one out if you like. :)
MrMiyagi  [author] 5 May, 2022 @ 1:09pm
@'Pulsee can you drop me a link to a video? I can answer you then.
'pulsee 5 May, 2022 @ 9:49am
i see this map from imperatur dream city series but the map looks different why ?
MrMiyagi  [author] 26 Mar, 2021 @ 9:09am
The main intersection that I used originally was one of Arisandi's compact intersections. I believe it was this one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1761137617
MrMiyagi  [author] 26 Mar, 2021 @ 9:02am
@ryanpeterharrison in the comments below you'll see a conversation between willitwork and me. That's the explanation why I had to change the start square intersections.
rastasCS 25 Mar, 2021 @ 5:02pm
HI, when i load the map the intersection in the starting square is diiferent to the ones in a few of the images, im guessing they are from the old version of the map, is that map released for people to download?
hillfanthomlike10 24 Mar, 2021 @ 9:34am
thank you
MrMiyagi  [author] 9 Dec, 2020 @ 3:41am
@willitwork Will it work? Yes, now it will work. :winter2019joyfultearssnowman: Remade the entire start square infrastructure. The 5th picture shows the new setup. The intersection on the left has been raised so that it can be upgraded and demolished and rebuilt without mods, the middle one replaced with an intersection that also can be altered by vanilla players and set entirely within the start square for easier editing. Splitting it from a four way to two trumpets should also help reduce traffic a bit. Now it will function right and more easily for you all who play without mods.

Thanks for your response. I really do appreciate the effort you put into making your maps accessible.
nemesis 7 Dec, 2020 @ 8:18pm
Thank you for the response. As always very thoughtful of you to include three different variations. I will definitely check out that map and thanks again for your help.
MrMiyagi  [author] 7 Dec, 2020 @ 5:49am
@willitwork aha, I think I know what you're talking about. It's probably best that I not make an intersection half-way inside the start square. Makes it impossible to upgrade / change all parts of it :D Thanks for that info, it helps me improve my maps!
MrMiyagi  [author] 7 Dec, 2020 @ 5:44am
You could also get the city in the picture! You should have 16GB RAM available and follow instructions on the page on how to get the city to run well if you're at the minimum 16GB.

Hi @nemesis, that map is Fjordland from an official Cities Skylines Build Off, so I made 3 versions of the map so that everyone has a chance to play on it. If you have a base level computer, pick the "Almost Vanilla" map.

Original Map (lots of decoration and Mass Transit DLC required) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1878908288

Lots of decoration Map (but no DLC required) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1878908740

Almost Vanilla Map(only 3 Workshop trees required, does not have snow on mountains) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1883343744

Does this map happen to be the one displayed at the top of your best maps and themes page? If not can I get the name of that one please? And thank you much for your work, always top notch.
Will It Work 1 Dec, 2020 @ 10:38pm
This is a gorgeous map, and I was very excited to play it. Unfortunately, the junction in the starting square isn't straight, and I couldn't change the road on the other starting position. I'm assuming it has something to do with assuming MoveIt or Anarchy, but I bounced off.:steamsad:
MrMiyagi  [author] 31 Oct, 2020 @ 10:23am
Thanks @Crystal Rose! :chirp:

Great Map! Job very well done. Fav'd, subscribed and very much loved. Good Luck with this Map and all your future endeavors.
MrMiyagi  [author] 20 Sep, 2020 @ 1:05pm
I don't know what map you're looking at but... there are. They're also default roads, so I don't see how it's possible for all the road and rail to disappear from the start square.
kodereaktor 20 Sep, 2020 @ 4:24am
There are no road or rail connections in the starting map square.
AmaZingRage 26 May, 2020 @ 3:23pm
Other having problems with intercity train coming to stations? And i have checked "Allowed intercity train"

Oh wow! That's a youtube series, right? I'll have to look that up

MrMiyagi  [author] 27 Feb, 2020 @ 5:10am
Hi, if the game allows you to place down a cruise ship harbor, then it's definitely got a connection. If you're playing vanilla, then the only thing would be a lack of demand for tourism, and/or you have to wait a long time for passenger ferries to finally start arriving. There's also a possible mod cause for this: If you use Move It to move certain stations in any way, especially the harbors, it breaks the connection and no ships come. I love the mod but it does have this one issue. It's awful because harbors usually plop elevated much higher than you'd want them.
petitbarry 24 Feb, 2020 @ 2:32pm
Hi, I love this map there is one problem, cruise ship doesnt go to the ports in the starting square shores, but cargo port works fine.
unimike 17 Nov, 2019 @ 12:35pm
Also the airplanes are stuck flying in circles at edges of map. Anybody noticed that too?
unimike 17 Nov, 2019 @ 11:54am
Hi, love this map. Did anybody noticed that airplanes fly totally weird on this map? Like it's stuck in circles or dived into the ground?
MrMiyagi  [author] 5 Nov, 2019 @ 7:55am
Hi, they are part of the default game, but without mods it may not be possible to access them. I can't remember. I've had the mods required to do that for years :D I can't live without accessing items like this.

Check under the landscaping menu (shovel symbol), inside there will be different tabs, these three castle walls found under the "medieval" tab. If you don't see that tab, then get yourself Find It! mod and you can... umm.. find it (lol) there under "networks". Also get Extra Landscaping Tools mod as well. Those two mods will give you all the decoration power! :) They also don't break save games, so are safe to use.
whittierstrong 5 Nov, 2019 @ 5:42am
I love this map! I'm putting tiny rural villages all over it. How did you make the stone walls surrounding the fields near the middle of the map? I've looked through all the vanilla assets and no luck. I'd love those walls for a different city I'm working on. Thanks!
MrMiyagi  [author] 21 Oct, 2019 @ 1:15pm
WOW!! I guess you generated a lot of poop! :D That's good to know, so it seems that a high flow rate will do the job, so there doesn't have to be a great height drop.
Λαιμε 18 Oct, 2019 @ 6:43am
Well, I placed dam on this map on one of the smaller rivers, powered it with sewage water and got 1600 megawatts =) But dam on the delta would be prettier and more lifelike.
MrMiyagi  [author] 1 Oct, 2019 @ 9:52am
Yup, very true. You can unlock all tiles with 81 tiles mod by BloodyPenguin, *but* it wouldn't power much more than a regular coal plant. The flow rates and elevation changes that you need to design for the game's hydro dam system to actually produce a lot of power is really crazy, so that's why it's not in this map. On Vanilla Lake map, people wanted a better-powered spot where the hydro dam actually makes a lot of power. So I remade that area and had to make some ridiculous changes to the entire map to get it to work. I had to add a giant canyon and reduce the sea level by (I think) 100 meters. Crazy, but I think I managed to hide it well ;)

Long story short, the elevation changes of this map's terrain won't get anyone hydro power that's even close to acceptable.
Λαιμε 1 Oct, 2019 @ 12:13am
It's a shame that the area on the other side of the river delta is not available. I would like to place a large dam over there

Subscribe button above. Then, when starting a new game, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list of maps. It doesn't sort them correctly alphabetically by default. Workshop maps appear at the end most times lol.

Can't get the map to download
MrMiyagi  [author] 21 Jul, 2019 @ 11:10am
Hey @claudiusr22 thank you so much for catching that. It was SO hard to see being so far underground. I had to go full on all the way to the ground :D
@everyone that break in the highway was along the neighbor traffic-reducing spur, so if you started with the map before 21 July 2019 it will only mean that traffic through the start square will be the standard traffic volume on one direction. You can go fix it with Cross the Line mod by BloodyPenguin. It is underground, see claudiusr22's image below
