info on shield core
to alter it's settings look for the small star shape on it or you can use the apple core console when one is spawned after that just hook up a power source if using Atlantis shield hook a ZPM into it then everything should work if the shield shuts down in an attack leave it for a few minutes and then start it up again

If you are running spacebuild then you need to connect the shield to a node and give it a power supply, preferably a ZPM

The shield core is cool but goddamn it's sooo inconsistent
Sometimes it will work as intended, stopping outsiders, their hitscan shots and projectiles
Other times it won't stop anything, and sometimes it's a mix between them, stopping proj but not hitscan, and most of the time outsiders can just waltz right in the field

The shield core hasn't been working since I last played, which was a long time ago. If you have spacebuild make sure it's getting power, and I'm pretty sure you now have to hit e on it rather than press a number. You're better off using a toolgun shield generator.

On the shield core there is a small star shaped button. Its well hidden. You must push activate (for me its E) on it.

Actually it doesn't matter, only one shield core can be active at a time. I managed to get two at the same time and it didn't matter if one was active or both were inactive, only one would activate.

So I want to experiment with something and I need more than one shield core to do it. but the limit is set to 1, and I cant find a limit for shield cores in server options, and sbox_maxshield_core doesn't work. So what am i doing wrong, and how do I raise the limit?

I would suggest that the shield have a secondary layer on the inside to protect against those bullets meant to pierce thin walls.

Some mods like fas/c.w have trouble detecting it or it sees it as a different projectile type to my knowledge. You may have to use other weapons. Also, any starwars vehicles pack and scars seems to have a lot of problems with shields.

your average dad, that same problem happend to me with a different mod where it wont work what i did was disable it undowload it and redownload it and un disable it if not then 1 you dont have enough memorie for it or 2 your computer cant process all the data and is strugeling to load it i hope this help

HELP ME!

when i spawn in any shield it will not let me open it, all it does is make a weird ass noise adn then not work. has this happened tro anyone else? if so what do i need to do.

Didn't I already tell you that you have to post in the forums if you're going to write a bug report/suggestion? Comments on these pages aren't linked to the coder and in this case the core won't change much as the original author of it left CAP.

i believe there's a single command that garry's mod's api has that could be appended to the "activating" up-down drawing thing that would fix it (if I'm right it'll just be one line a little bit longer). I believe it was like Vector:FromWorldToLocal(Vector) (so like instead of what you're probably doing, a class 2 for loop of any numerical variable, i, for instance, as a drawing of center + Vector(0,i,0), it'd be center + Vector(0,i,0):FromWorldToLocal(center), converting your given numerical looping variable into a looping local space relative up-down variable). I'm probably wrong on that exact method's name (as i'm just pulling from my experience in other games using lua that i've coded for, not gmod's api), but you get the idea...

Nevermind on that last post, apparently it's either unrepeatable or i was noclipping (anti-noclip would be nice for the future btw), but i did find a bug with the "always show bubble" or whatever setting that makes it atlantis' shield texture.

if you set it to be any height (up down) larger than the other widths, when rotating the shield core itself (entity not in its settings) it animates world rather than local coordinate up-down so that smaller up-down heights make it to where some of the top part of the bubble doesn't show. When you rotate it, its height up-down changes as a model in world coordinates, but actually remains the same in local coordinates. in addition, much larger up-down hights of the shield make the animation faster while remaining the same bubble shape. (again, it's the drawing of the bubble beeing generated (slowly appearing), the actual bubble shape remains the same shape in local coordinates).

I really like that the shield core's back (even if just for the appearance) but it seems like if I drop in from the top, it'll actually push me INTO the shield, instead of out of it if I'm supposed to be blocked by it.

The shieldcore is not removed or anything it's been disabled because recent updates breaking it. Until it has been fixed it will be disabled. Please read the update logs next time if you're wondering about specific changes in the pack.

The best thing to test this is to remove every addon and only install CAP + Wire and see what happens (trail and error) as this is a clientside bug we can't really provide more useful information than our normal trouble shoot steps of removing all addons and re-installing.
