Firescueowl, it's that if you put engine throttle on full it doesn't take off. Putting it on low, will take off, but putting it on 50% will tip over the craft. Like the author said, 10% throttle is good and will not tip over the craft.

Stability is an issue, so you have to keep SAS on at all times. Also, tilting the nacelles a couple of degrees forward can help. Do not put more than 10% throttle in helo mode, or bad things will happen ! It's a hard to control aircraft and there is no way to have advanced fly-by-wire so take it slow and experiment :)
To tilt the nacelles press I and K (or whatever keys you set as up/down translate)

Oh and also : you have to release the brakes ! For some odd reason they still act on the rotors even if you set them to zero...

Have you pressed action group 1 ? This should start both engines and the fuel cells.
