Great mod but for some reason the music stops after beating the heart with the new game active.

In case someone reads it, I had the issue of the buttons disappearing as well, disabling and enabling before loading and unchecking and checking all options again in the mods config seemingly solved it (no idea which it was)

The restart combat button is gone for some reason

Oh, I didn't really think about custom run modifiers when making this mod, not surprised it's wacky with that.

After a couple hours of experimentation i finally found an aparent solution. If i want to be able to restart into a custom downfall map, b4 creating the custom map i must go on play-standard-DOWNFALL (once in this menu you can leave, without creating any run). Then go to custom, Specialized, evil run, a-20, final act. and the insta start a new run works to retry the specialized trigger

I like to do customs with 'Specialized'-'Final Act'-'Evil Run' on vanilla caracters, and sometimes specialized gives me bad cards and i try to restart but get directed into vanilla run. I know i did it earlier today but can't figure out the way to replicate the reset to sent me into a custom with specialized and evil run.

New update is out and it adds Downfall compatibility and should hopefully fix the ascenscion resetting issue.
MAKE SURE THE MOD IS VERSION 2.1.0

My attempt at fixing the asc resetting is by forcing th game to save synchronously (aka, waiting until the save is done) this could make the restart take a little longer.

So please, let me know if this fixes it and if your restart times are longer now.

This is not compatible with Downfall as it resets the whole map to vanilla.

+1 to all the complaints about resetting ascensions. I've had it happen at least once with each character.
The first time it happened, I welcomed it as a challenge to climb again. Now, it's an obnoxious issue. I have removed this mod but hope it'll be fixed someday soon.

Setup doesn't have a fight again button. Please fix it

This mod is definitely broken, be warned people.

Playing with downfall, clicking new run instead puts me out of downfall, but with a downfall character.

So instead of fighting the merchant, I'm just shopping like normal, and the whale is there at the start instead of the heart

really useful mod but currently it can reset your ascension progress, please fix the issue the mod is unusable as it is

太搞了

I love this mod but it does not feel good on a controller. I will sometimes go to save and quit and accidently hit Y or Triangle and it will restart my whole run without prompt and I lose everything instantly.. Feels bad when that happens. Would love a way to set a confirmation for resetting run for controller. Fine for mouse and keyboard.

Another poster commented that this mod reset their ascension progress back to 1 after clicking the start a new run button. This also happened to me with Ironclad Ascension 13 resetting back to level 1 upon completion. Please fix this issue.

For some reason, My game was broke by your mod. I just click “start a new run”, and game crashed, Now I can't into my Ascension mod by the watcher. I beat the game again and found my Ascension mod progress reset to level 1(Click the right button to change level doesn't work at all).I haven't installed any other mods, So i can't find out what happened. pls fix this bug.

Possible interesting interaction with Downfall (mod, not the steam version), not sure if it's been reported.

When using the New Run button after successfully winning, the Downfall mode starts over in normal StS mode not Downfall mode. Everything worked like normal, but I was playing The Guardian working up the map to fight a normal Slime Boss, rather than down the map to fight Downfall Ironclad or someone. It was honestly cool and didn't detract from anything but was unexpected. maybe it could be an option for new runs if the cause is found? fwiw, it was true ending, killed neow as the guardian non-ascension. got a few other mods running but i assume it was downfall and this one

Occasionally causes crashes on "Start a new run"

The mod is already good enough , but personally I wish for an additional feature that allows moving to the next ascension level when we win and "start a new run".

eh dont worry, i tried deactivating it to play but now that im used to having the mod i cant do without it so im still using it XD

I'm sorry to hear that but I have absolutely no idea how this mod could've caused it. I can try looking into it again but it's unlikely that I'll find out why this time

this is the only mod i have active. however, last time i had a crash after restarting quick a couple of times. the entire game reverted to a save and i lost all my ascension progress on ironclad :/ otherwise a great mod, a real shame tho

Also having the ascension level being lowered for defect issue. I set it back to 1 to have elites for an easy run, but I can't set it higher again after restarting.

Is there a way to make this work with Downfall Boss characters? When I click Start a New Run, it puts me in a normal game versus a downfall run as the boss.

@Sura Yeah it seems to work around the issue I have to click New Run after beating the game and then Exit Game and just start a new run from the main menu in order to avoid deleting my progress.

The weird part is it seems to really mess up the STSData files as most of the info inside gets deleted including the last ascension level, I had to copy the information from the Silent into my Defect just to get it working again.

I run with both of those mods and more pretty often and haven't experienced it. None of those mods touch this code anyhow, so I find that exceedingly unlikely.

My best guess would be either a cloud sync problem or that this mod somehow loads the unmodded save files but that's a big of a reach.
