Metal grids are bugged for me after using this mod. They get stuck in inventory and I can't move them to other containers.

@Strong Hoov
Stronger Metal Grids and Stronger Heavy Armor are the same mod.

@Harbinger Ace Hey. I was wondering why you haven't uploaded the "Stronger Heavy Armor" Onto Steam Workshop? I'd would love to test it out.

Lookup Configurable Parameters, that adjusts armor for light and heavy armor, small or large.

Tried the https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2796837325 and its BROKEN, also the dev disabled comments 2 let him know dat his mod is broken. X3

Can sumone make an update/release bettery vannilla armor one dat works, modded weapons keep yeeeting the drones way 2 fast. >w<

Can someone (or yourself, Ace) do this for bulletproof glass?!! That would be very useful, maybe not 10x, but more health for them would be wonderful

Haven't played SE ever since the DLC got more expensive than the game but even so I wanted to give this mod the Kudos it deserves. This mod is the single mod that lets non-scifi-shield playthroughs be reasonable.
howardxu23 17 Apr, 2023 @ 12:45pm
very nice mod
I have always thought that there is not enough advantage as to justify using some heavy armor over spamming light armor over the same area
Harbinger Ace  [author] 8 Dec, 2019 @ 12:07am
I made an error in my prior calculation.
Default large-grid heavy armor cube integrity: 15,000 + 1,500 = 16,500
With this mod: 15,000 + 15,000 = 30,000
30,000 / 16,500 = 1.8181... +82% integrity.
Small grid varies between +50% and +118%, depending on the given block (cube = +96%).

This mod is very basic; if it breaks, it'll be easy to fix.

Given that 150/200 components in a heavy armor block are steel plates, this mod only makes heavy armor ~45% stronger than vanilla.

To adjust the strength of light armor, either a damage reduction percentage must be added, or the integrity of steel plates must be increased. Neither are the point of this mod.
Misfit_Panda 25 Nov, 2019 @ 7:06pm
Will this mod be updated regularly?
Or kept up to date if things break?

Or is there a possibility to adjust the integrity of not only heavy blocks but light blocks as well?

As I said in the previous post, I'm hoping to find a mod at between 3-5x stronger than vanilla, but I'm thinking 10x would be a bit much.
Harbinger Ace  [author] 25 Nov, 2019 @ 6:39pm
@Bishop22 Correct. This mod will make the metal grids in all blocks 10x as resistant to damage. Absolutely nothing else is touched.

Practically, this mod is only beneficial to heavy armor, since all other blocks using metal grids will lose function before the metal grids can protect them.
Misfit_Panda 25 Nov, 2019 @ 3:34pm
So this mod doesn't change anything other than making blocks that use metal grids to be able to take more damage?

I am looking for a good mod that will let my armor blocks take x3 - x4 more damage
Vanilla blocks seem to be a bit fragile

@AngryMan Unlike steel plates, I see metal grids as structural reinforcement, i.e., they reinforce existing components. Of course, this can't be done in SE without scripting, so I merely edited the grids to work around this problem. Their low vanilla integrity does not warrant the proper use of heavy armor, nor expending valuable cobalt to construct. This integrity value feels more appropriate.

On the topic of rebalancing almost every basic component, including resource costs, that is not the point of this mod. I only intended to fix how useless heavy armor is, particularly against modded weapons. Were I to rebalance the game, I would make a separate mod.

What's the difference between health and integrity?
xXspeedfistXxD 30 Jul, 2019 @ 9:37am
give it more health like 300 integrity and about 200 health
AngryMan 29 Jul, 2019 @ 1:49pm
Hi, really like the intent here, but I think the values are OTT; AFAICT, vanilla MGs have the same integrity:mass ratio as steel plate (5:1).

You've got 50:1; I think somewhere between 6 and 8 would be better, 10:1 as an absolute max.

I'd also consider changing the recipe of heavy plate to a 'better' ratio of optional steel plate than light; Light armour is currently 4:1 (20:5 for a large block), while heavy is 9:1 (135:15, +50 optional MGs).

How about changing this to 100:50, *but* making the MGs mandatory? Also, swapping the recipe around, so it *starts* with metal grids, with 35 mandatory, 15 optional?. This would result in heavy armour maintaining its integrity MUCH longer *and* making it a genuine teir-2 item.

Following this logic, you could also look at making a medium armour, with say a 3:1 ratio, say 60:20 for a large block, plus 20 metal grids (again, maybe 15 mandatory, 5 optional), but do it as mandatory: 40 steel, 15 MGs, 20 steel + optional 5 MGs, 20 steel if you can.
Deserter 25 Jul, 2019 @ 3:13pm
We need the same reinforcement to iron plates, foil light armor isn't protecting at all (same integrity or a bit more)
Harbinger Ace  [author] 23 Jul, 2019 @ 2:55pm
@schlachter125 Yes. Every block which requires metal grids will gain integrity via this mod.
Keep in mind that this will not reinforce a given block overall, just the metal grids within it.
megapro 23 Jul, 2019 @ 12:51pm
Does this improve the health and integrity of every block that uses metal grids in their building component list or how does it work?
Illegal Poptart 20 Jul, 2019 @ 5:56pm
i love you no homo tho
