One of the most usefull tools, but unfortunately one of the most unstable ones as well. Catenary appear and disappear without changing a setting. Same for signals. I had an exit with 4 pair of tracks, each having their own planner group. When building, three of them had catenary and signals, one group had no signals nor catenary. So sorry but at the end I spend more time correcting than that I win by using this tool. I sincerely hope to see a more stable version some day, but fot the moment I have no choice but to deactivate the mod.

Is doesn't work, same problem as @Marvin, when I subscribe through Steam Workshop, the version I get is from August 1st. And there is nothing that can be done from the user end to change that, is what Steam downloads.
I cannot find this mod in transportfever.net either just the regular one (no planner)
@Enzojz can you please check that Steam Workshop has the latest version.

@Marvin Not sure, but 1 aug is the 3rd lateset version, and make sure you don't have other versions.

The TDP is there. I can perform all the steps as you show in your first video until 0:51. There, when I click 'Parallel tracks' the setting menu opens but the top entry starts with 'Number of tracks', there is no 'Use Planner' entry.

I'd like to use the planner and checked the video but there is no such option available, the menu looks quite different. Maybe because of the German version?

Great tool - which I am sure would be very useful - but it always crashes my game when I try to "build" the track.

@[Niv]Vince I worked at SNCF and I have seen how the civil engineers traced these curves in the AutoCAD, I think in Tpf2 there's still no easy support to this, what we need is an interactive place to create the things

@Enzojz yeah thats exaclty the point, the way UG implemented it is definitly not the way it works in real life :D I was hoping for a possible implementation of this via the framework of your mod in order to have something more predictable. But I can understand if that is too much work :) I really hope UG lets us control how tracks are drawn directly (via mods?) in TPF2... but probably they won't^^

@[Niv]Vince I didn't implemented transition curve in this mod, only circular curve since I didn't created the formal form in the lib, but I think UG did it in the game, but less controllable..

@Enzojz With the groundwork of this mod, how hard would it be to implement a track transition curve https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Track_transition_curve ? Basically, you would need a tansition curve from a straight piece of track, leading into a curve with a constant radius (ideally an adjustable option), which then again leads into a transition curve leading back into a straight piece of track. This would lead to much more realistic looking railways :)

Is there a cost component to the construction, or is it basically free (besides the initial $500 to place the arrow markers)?

@Enzojz I tried first replacing an existing double-track curve in a saved game, it was a long section, perhaps 600m. The angle was about 45 degrees. I also tried placing new track with two markers not snapped to anything. Maybe 300m apart and an angle a bit more than 45 degrees. Thank you.

i´ve testet your mod and you are right. It seems to be an interesting tool. I´d some crashes (maybe i choose the wrong angle) and i think i´ve to train with the tool to work properly.

I was thinking about the signals you can use whith the core TDP mod you did (sense of the train march, signals and distance between them for 2 or more tracks).

@Señor Mustacho I see, a bug due to the precision of lua...I need to think about it but no fast way out of it, maybe you built a complete straight one, or extend the track to make the ration of offset/length greater..

almost a perfect line. There is a small offset. It doesnt seem to happen on flat ground either.

@faugh89 I think you have placed two markers with exactly of the same direction, may be you want to make a U turn but this is the only case not supported

@Sqweloookle Use free tracks and signal spacing options you can create free tracks with pre-placed signals, or modifiable tracks without signals
