i know its been 3 years but a level 40 one would be good

I be glad this is getting balanced, but my initial thoughts are why stop at 30? Maybe you could keep the original 60 but scale it like you have here and add a random chance to take some chest or arm damage after training for a certain amount of time without rest. Or if it's not too complicated require another person with a higher level to be a spotter or trainer to be idling nearby to prevent taking damage.

good mod. Just glad I can get my characters to 20-30 str without walking around with a backpack full of rocks for 10 minutes.
SininenBlue 7 May, 2024 @ 9:44pm
Not sure if this is a bug but I can research weight training 3 without needing to do 1 and 2 since 3 doesn't have those in the requirements
HTOScoutMctartan 8 Aug, 2023 @ 3:37pm
For some reason I can only get the LV2 bench, despite having tech level 3 it's all that shows up.
Murmeldjur 9 Jan, 2023 @ 11:50am
this mod stops your characters from lvling labouring cus of the (mining) in benchpress, so when characters is mining they are only lvling strenght and not labouring, is there a way to fix this?
Manu 27 Jun, 2021 @ 11:26am
If you are using weights to train, why would you need a different training tier to increase the max strengh level? it's the same exercize with just more weight, not a different technology.
It matches the game lore and vanilla training system though

thx for continuing the awesome set of training mods

I'd love it if you split the Wooden Dexterity Training Dummy into three tiers as well!

Hello,
I have just finished a translation in French of your wonderful Mod.
Can I publish it, with a reference to the original mod and it's creator ?
Thank You
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 2 Nov, 2020 @ 4:41am
Thanks.
I'll look into adjustments once I have access to my computer again.
spacefiddle 2 Nov, 2020 @ 3:57am
Many of the stats will show up on the screen with two different values at the same time, because one display area drops fractions and the other one rounds. Fun stuff. Must be confusing to new folks.

Thanks again for this, it's the only non-vanilla stats trainer I use regularly coz it actually feels reasonable and balanced and requires both sensible research levels and mats for building :)
spacefiddle 2 Nov, 2020 @ 3:52am
Oh i know, it just bugged me when I said "10 please" in the FCS for something and then tested it in game and game said "haha sucker you get 9." All those 9, 19, 29 irked me. Frex I edited your mod in my local copy to be 11, 21, 31, and now in-game they show a nice round clean 10, 20, 30. :)
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 2 Nov, 2020 @ 3:49am
It's most likely a rounding issue with the game. Not the first time it's happened.

Doing some strength training outside the bench should fix it fast.
spacefiddle 1 Nov, 2020 @ 9:37pm
Side note: in game, the items allow training to one less than they should. This is due to rounding errors in the game, it happens in a number of places; I get around it with my stuff by setting the max to one higher (11, 21, etc) and then it displays/caps in game properly. Alternately, when that doesn't work right, you can set the base cap where you want it (10, 20, 30) but then make the multiplier in the TRAINING object 1.1 or even 1.05. It's all rather inexact and I'm still not 100% sure if it's just a display issue, but it can make things look cleaner.

Thank you for this. Since release I have trained Strength by loading up people with large rocks and making them run laps on F4 speed. I've done that enough, it's getting old, some basic training devices are much welcomed :)

Vitalix 3 Oct, 2020 @ 12:46pm
I installed the mod, but it does not appear in the training category or any other category. What am I missing?
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 1 Oct, 2020 @ 12:53am
Would require a new mod.
And I don't have access to my computer again to make it.
Vitalix 30 Sep, 2020 @ 8:06pm
Thanks for the mod. Is there a way to reduce the strength training further down to 5,10,15?
KILLERS EZ 2 PLAY 4 May, 2020 @ 1:52pm
I'd argue that this game is a whole grind so it is very balanced.
Windows XP 4 May, 2020 @ 6:23am
Good mod. Close to being balanced but it's a little on the grind-heavy side rather than balanced imho due to how expensive it is and how long it takes to build skill.
Chappie 31 Mar, 2020 @ 8:56pm
Great job - refused to use the original, this seems balanced enough.
Yolo$wagger 20 Feb, 2020 @ 9:31pm
I mostly enjoy training devices for the role play aspect. I mean, it makes sense that I would want my new recruits to hit the gym before I send them into war, right? :D
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 20 Feb, 2020 @ 9:08pm
yes, training time greatly increases the farther you go.
lvl 10 and beyond can take a while, it could be easier to do old school training while in combat.
Yolo$wagger 20 Feb, 2020 @ 8:39pm
If I am not mistaken, the maximum level training value follows a logarithmic function. Meaning that setting max training level to "10" mean that the max level is *theoretically* 10, but the time needed to train from level 9 to 10 is excessively high. Maybe that explains why @Festivejelly is having troubles? It's just a tiny problem though.

Anyways, thanks for the mod! Old strength training was blatantly OP, level 60 strength through training was crazy.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 1 Jan, 2020 @ 2:37pm
should train upto 10, that's what i got the limits set at.
Festivejelly 1 Jan, 2020 @ 12:15pm
Hrm I noticed that it only allows me to train up to 8 strength in the level 1 bench? Is this a known issue? Researching level 2 now to see if that goes to 20.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 31 Dec, 2019 @ 7:34pm
i'm sure someone will make a compatibility patch.
but i only make those types of patches if i use said mods in question..
RedPine 31 Dec, 2019 @ 7:12pm
Not compatible with Progressive Training Overhaul, as that mod removes vanilla training researches. PTO is not compatible with any mod that relies on vanilla researches as a prerequisite.

This is what causes the "empty" research requirement.

It's a real shame that the only comprehensive, semi-balanced skill training mod is overtly incompatible with all of the semi-balanced stat training mods.
Kachow 18 Nov, 2019 @ 9:25pm
yeah i got this new recruit and i was so annoyed with the idea of strength training that i turned the game off with the idea i'd come back prepared for a grind, thank you mod guy. :hintlord:
Commissar Tordez 22 Sep, 2019 @ 9:48am
so glad i found this mod, its gunna save me so much time.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 12 Sep, 2019 @ 1:41pm
maybe.
Skycore 12 Sep, 2019 @ 1:17pm
Maybe it has compatibility issues with Progressive Training Overhaul mod? That's the only thing i can think of :(
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 11 Sep, 2019 @ 3:05pm
thats weird
the research requirements do not have anything else besides the books
its an exact copy near about of other training dummies. so it shouldn't have anything in the second slot for requirements.

Im kinda at a loss as to what is causing it as i looked it over again with a fine tooth comb and i do not see anything that would be causing it. its setup exactly like thief training items, just with Lower costs
Skycore 11 Sep, 2019 @ 12:36pm
As ToppyDawg says, the requirements for the Weight Bench are 2 books / empty11, 4 books / empty10 and 6 books / empty6 respectively :(
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 10 Sep, 2019 @ 6:37am
im not sure where that is coming from
i rechecked everything and its setup correctly.
im not finding the error.
ToppyDawg 9 Sep, 2019 @ 7:40pm
Yeah just has red highlight saying in the requirements section that it needs empty 10
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 6 Sep, 2019 @ 12:05am
requirement?
ToppyDawg 5 Sep, 2019 @ 11:25pm
it doesnt work, the requirement is empty 10
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 2:52pm
yes it does.
Rogue_Hound 25 Aug, 2019 @ 2:34pm
Does it work now?
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:00pm
yes it was.
Hikurac 13 Aug, 2019 @ 10:36pm
Was this ever fixed?
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 31 Jul, 2019 @ 12:16pm
i got the update ready, but Steam is giving me a "Timing out" error message.
will attempt to upload the update later.
Hatsune Neko Gaming  [author] 30 Jul, 2019 @ 2:50pm
could send me the file. would be easier to patch it that way. as that only takes like half a hour for that section to load.
and yes, that's how bad the damaged computer part is affecting performance lol.
so could possibly have the patch out like a hour after i get the file.
