Somehow this map came up in a conversation and just today masalt started trying to solve it once again and so I also started thinking about it again. I got stuck at the same part for a while but then once I figured out the background logic almost the entire sequence just popped into my head. It was missing a bit of it ( the cube rotation ) and I also did find a way to do it with some tight timings but later figured out how to make the timing much more lenient. It was quite satisfying to finally get this one solved and now I can remove it from my never ending queue. Faved!

There are 7 possible ways to activate the laser receiver, none of them are possible to get to while also being able to get to the exit door. What is the eighth method?

It's jinxed that the maps don't work for you the way they should :D While I get the Linux ontology thing, it's a bit odd to me that you had this problem in Funnelfication. I considered the scenario you showed and added a background mechanism (IIRC there should be a faith plate and a sphere outside of the map) which delays the actual sendificator (or the cube respawn?) process a bit, so that the messy ghost cube hitbox doesn't block the sendification. I'm confused how win 11 could be responsible for that, unless it calculates the speed of that background faith plate differently. HM! Hopefully there won't be more issues like that :/

Followup to my previous comment. I tried this map on an older computer using the same Save shown in my video and I was able to complete the map successfully every time. So this is a caution for future players. It appears Portal may execute certain actions differently depending on your system. FYI, I was using Windows 11 the first time and Windows 7 on the older computer.

Amazing map, but it does not work for me. Watched the videos and confirmed I did as intended, but for some reason the final portal shot does not produce the same results. (Caution: Major Spoiler). When the reflector is in transit it collides with the other cube and lands on the button rather than against the wall. Tried shifting the portal, but nothing works. . Holy crap this one was HARD. It took me about 1-2hours a day over 3 days to finnish it and still I had to look up the last part where you are rotating the cube with the funnel because I didn't want to put any more time into it. Fun though. Impressive that you could make it so complex from so few "things".

Finally got around to breaking through this one! I was really impressed with how many implicit obstacles were packed into such an open and friendly (looking) layout, and thus solving was very enjoyable. This is generally a facet of your modern work that I'm really amazed by. Tragically, I overclocked and used a method of rotating the cube that was far too lengthy and ridiculous - I'll send you a video of it. If only I had turned around and looked at the great rotating tool behind me, haha!

Very nice visuals, but I still found this map significantly more frustrating than rewarding. I believe that when you already figured out your next step but still find yourself reloading multiple times because the physical execution is needlessly demanding, that's not a mark of a good puzzle.

Great puzzle! I really like the end sequence and that you have to rotate the reflector cube with reportaling instead of directly placing it on the sendificator

Well, I thought I had it, but I hadn't verified the final laser alignment setup and realized the reflector cube needs to be on the small island before the final move. I think I'll run through it again, but right now I'm screwed by my autosave and don't want to start over. I know what remains to be done, and I'd like to do it lol.

I decided to try your level because I myself have been working with the sendificator. I must say I am not disappointed! Gonna come back to it later when I have more time. I've already spent a good 20 minutes with some progress.

By the way, the music sounds like FF7 when in the industrial setup! Really sweet!

I'm working my way through this one at the moment, I feel like I'm starting to crack it. But it's excellent map so far, I love how the space expands as you progress through the puzzle. It's giving me a real workout at the moment.

Incredible map. I made it to about 4 minutes into Joric's video months ago but just could not figure out how to proceed until today. The amount of reuses and clever moves is insane. Thumbs up and definitely added to favorites.

Das Ende zu spielen ist in dieser Map etwas mühselig, das musst du nicht tun. Ich glaube ich verstehe was du getan hast. Und ja, es lässt sich zwar so spielen, wie du es beschreibst, aber das braucht man nicht oder ist zumindest nicht so "fummelig" intendiert. In dem Moment wo man den normalen Würfel respawnt (durch Ablegen des Reflektorwürfels auf den Schalter), muss man ihn ja mit einem orangenen Funnel aus der Schräge anziehen. Man kann direkt danach den Funnel als Spieler wieder blau stellen und den Würfel erst mal "wo anders" lagern. Anschließend zerstört man erst den Reflektorwürfel, ändert die Orientierung usw. Der Standardwürfel wird dann erst danach benötigt. Wie auch immer, von mir aus kann de verkomplizierte Form ruhig drin bleiben :P

Während der letzten Sequenz hatte ich zu einem Zeitpunkt beide Kisten im Funnel. Ich habe die Orientierung des Laser-Kubus geändert während der Standard-Kubus mit im Funnel war. Als der Laser-Kubus in die richtige Richtung schaute habe ich ihn auf der weißen Fläche im Boden im Anfangsraum abgelegt und dann mich um den Standard-Kubus gekümmert. Als dieser an der richtigen Stelle lag, habe ich den Laser-Kubus wieder in den Funnel genommen und habe ihn auf den Sendificator transportiert. Dann konnte ich die letzten paar Schritte ausführen. Ich schätze mal, dass es einen anderen Weg gibt diese Schritte auszuführen, obwohl ich mir sicher bin, dass es keinen wichtigen Schritt überspringt, sondern stattdessen die letzte Sequenz noch interessanter macht. Ich kann noch später ein Video von meiner Lösung machen, bestimmte Moves zu erklären kann ich nicht so gut :p

Was meinst du mit zwei Kisten im Funnel? An welcher Stelle genau?

Wirklich eine sehr tolle und auch schöne Map. Definitiv nicht leicht, wobei ich sagen muss, dass ich mit einer schwierigen Map schon seit Langem nicht mehr so viel Spaß hatte. Die letzte Sequenz war mit Abstand für mich der beste Teil des Puzzles. Der Fakt, dass man mit zwei Kisten in dem Funnel zurechtkommen muss und auch noch die Orientierung des Laser-Kubus zu verändern war macht diese Sequenz zu einer der Besten die ich bisher gesehen habe. Nicht zu vergessen, dass man den normalen Kubus später auch ständig respawnen lassen muss :) Daumen nach oben und natürlich favorisiert.

UPDATE (17. Aug 2019):

- added grating at the funnel emitter (prevents an exploit found by Mikeastro)
- added an small block to prevent dire.fcs's exploit
- minor geometry / lightstrip changes
- additional sign to make clear that the conductive plate is portalable
- added a nearly unrecognizeable delay to the gears-fizzler in order to avoid 可砸的六度双音's exploit (from the BETA version) entirely
- added invisible items (made by Libbybapa) to improve the performance and viability of the ending sequence a LOT. Again, big thanks! Make sure to visit Libbybapa's workshop as well

The solution has NOT changed. Joric's video still shows the correct way.

I thought about this map for three days, and I cleared it.
It was very difficult, and I thought a lot about getting clear without using the technique of cube throwing.
I thought a lot to change the angle of the laser cube. I think it took me the longest time to clear this map.
This is a great map. Thumbs up!

It did happen reliably, yesterday, but not today. I have changed nothing related to P2 - though the PC has been through a sleep/wake cycle and (courtesy of Elite:Dangerous) a couple RAM purges since - but either way it loads now.

@Reika: Does it happen everytime? I assume that the map is a bit hardware-intense (there's a LOT of decoration etc.), but I'm not sure if this can cause such errors. You're the first one wtih that experience... Hmm :(

I used the reflector to point to the exit catcher, and to accomplish that i must have done the intended way. That was a great sequence of elaborated steps from the upper area, using the funnel.
