Yes, all condition check are client side and any effects like changing the mask or hose uses commands with global effect (like setObjectTextureGlobal) so they will still be able to see the effects even if they are not using the mod.

Wait so seeing this is Client-side does that mean if i wanted i can run this in my mods while hosting a private game and my friends wouldn't have to download if they didn't want it?

It would be not that much work, since I already wrote the function to check the conditions to display the option and the function to change the respirators, all you'd need to do is remove all ACE stuff from the config.cpp and run some addAction commands with the same functions and conditions during mission init.

@HaloMeet, the mod should be MP compatible (though admittedly not tested).
I have now also included the server key within the modfolder.
Should there be any issues regarding MP compatibility, just report it in the bug reports discussion to let me know.

@The Game Goop, the gear does not have any functionality since it is purely cosmetic, for now you could use triggers and apply damage to units not wearing the gear.

so does with work as protection even against chemical warfare? or is it just for pure cosmetic functionality, I understand that it only works with the contact DLC respirators and shit, but I'm wondering if I can survive an actual gas attack if I combined this with a mod like chemical warfare

Please remove the Contact DLC requirement from this mod, it works perfectly fine without it and putting that on this page makes it harder for units to include your mod in packs.
