Fun little chamber. Liked the sun light thing but wish it would cast light rays on the part that looks outside (altough thats more of a engine limitation).

Also: Intended solution demo file is removed

Really cool. Not hyper-difficult but not obvious. Each step leads to the next until you figure it out. Loved the aesthetic. It's ind of like background music--not essential but deepens the experience and makes it much more enjoyable.

Fun map!If the puzzle could be more longer, it will definitely more fascinating.

Wonderful use of the laserfield, really enjoyed it

Great puzzle and I really like 'that' move. It didn't take me long to figure it out, but that's because I'd recently played 'Conundrum' by @Cobb's (posted 26 Jun, 2014) which also uses that idea.
Libbybapa 28 Apr, 2018 @ 5:37pm
It bothered me that a trigger activated item that was required for exit showed no connections at all and had no indication that it would activate or what would cause it to activate. That's anti-logic.

I was still feeling the christmas vibe! Another great playthrough, thank you!

Nice job, didn't take me too long, but it was still a good puzzle. Also, good to see you've finally taken that Christmas hat off :P

You'll have to open up console when in PeTI; then type:

puzzlemaker_export (mapname)

It'll appear in your 'portal2/sdk_content/maps' folder
fops. 20 Aug, 2017 @ 3:29am
How do you create a test chamber in the PeTI, then export and edit it in Hammer?
It's something I've been trying to do for ages.

sad that it's short. I would love to see more maps with that theme.
Do you still map?

Nice & challenging, thanks
Petutski 25 Jan, 2017 @ 9:17am
Got all the way to the exit and it would not open. Restarted. Did exactly the same process and the door opened fine. ?? Anyway, thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! I'll see what I can do.

@srs bsnss: Steam removed the link to the demo file. You might want to find a different website to host your demo file.

There is! Because of the 1000 character limit on comments, I've added the tutorial to my user page on the Valve Developer Community - hopefully that helps you out! https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/User_talk:Srs_bsnss

How did you add the vac tube with the moving cubes? I'm trying to them to one of my maps, but it seems I need to manually line up a set of tubes to match a specific cube animation. Am I doing it wrong? There has to be an easier to do it, no?
srs bsnss  [author] 8 Mar, 2016 @ 11:10pm
Thanks man! It was fun to try and do something different with this one.
Chron 7 Mar, 2016 @ 12:44am
I love your maps, man. They're so aesthetic.

Nice puzzle!
srs bsnss  [author] 10 May, 2014 @ 2:25am
Well, it's a different look to the wall and doesn't have any connections linked to it, so it's fair to assume that it'll operate itself. But I'll change it.
Miami Mike 9 May, 2014 @ 11:48am
Bayram is absolutely right, this is a deus ex machina [en.wikipedia.org] or "god from the machine." I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I could ever reach the exit, only to find that when I got close, something happened that I had no way of anticipating. The deus ex machina is bad form in novels, movies, and plays, and it's bad form here too.
Sinkira 24 Jan, 2014 @ 11:42am
Nice, it's been a long time since i commented something not bad:D

Fine work. I loved it. Good puzzle and nice looking chamber. The surprise at the end was an eye opener.

Based on the openness and lack of test chambers and tubes carry cubes, i'd say that GLaDOS has gotten rid of everything and is rebuilding the facility from scratch. Or because it just looks cool.
DeathWish808 6 Oct, 2013 @ 8:59am
I did a blind run of your map and recorded it.
The video description shows them in the order they are played in the video to help you find it.

Bayram 4 Oct, 2013 @ 5:29am
Nice map, thumbs up. The puzzle is not too hard, I would agree with medium difficulty. There were two things I did not like: one, the portalable surface in the wall over the light bridge is so bright that I thought for a long time that it was an observation room, and two, I think the light bridge should go to a platform that actually exists while you're thinking about the solution rather than magically appearing when you get there .
Aron 3 Oct, 2013 @ 1:05am
cool map. and you get the 'i got it' feeling from the original portal. :)
Ale 30 Sep, 2013 @ 4:03am
Good design and playstyle!
The Sojourner 30 Sep, 2013 @ 3:52am
Excellent puzzle and art design!

If you're wondering about the "skybox," keep in mind that the more official maps have the tools/toolsblack texture at the ends (non-portalable variety) instead of the tools/toolsskybox.

@presto668
I've added a demo of the intended solution to the main description. It wasn't meant to be ninja at all, but Tom K's video had an unintended step. On that note,
@Tom K, thanks for the video. It's always good to watch players play my maps so I can see what they do and don't notice.
presto668 29 Sep, 2013 @ 4:59pm
After watching the video, it's *all* ninja.
[Tom K] 29 Sep, 2013 @ 3:51pm
Hello.

I gave it a star mark. I do not do this often.
No really, just great. The combination of bridge and momentum was great. How the lense came in in combination with the other elements made it to an awesome puzzle. The theming is basically made with shadows and lightning, in a destructed test chamber, without using those destruction textures and stuff like plants. I liked a lot how the map looks. Awesome. Me like.

Here is my blind play of your map. I hope you enjoy the video. To access your map directly, just check the description. There are multiple maps in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7oP1UlR6Hc

but then I solved
good game, brilliant !!! Thanks !

@cyhborg
Thanks for the video - I'll get that cleared up now.
commander2005 28 Sep, 2013 @ 3:05am
All is clear!
Nice map, I like your inventar and the shadow of the cubes! but the textures in the test room are a little bit boring, for this kind of test the chamber would be good looking in vintage style.

I think I found a shortcut:
http://youtu.be/9lH109PIhf8
You might have to sink the portal surface a bit to prevent this.
