Cool mission if it wasn't because the game doesn't check for the convoy destruction properly lol, also doesn't makes sense to not have ngv or flashlights, there is not even chemical lights but for some reason we have an empthy backpack..

I just tried this mission without any mods and it seems to work just fine despite being almost 10 years old. I found it very immersive, changes in situation in mid battle always make it for more challenging and tense.

For those who get confused in the beginning: Just wait and do nothing until the convoy arrives and the first vehicle hits a mine (as instructed in the mission briefing!). It's going to take around 10 minutes (or 2.5 on 4x time) as for some reason the convoy is moving VERY slowly. Then you can just wait for the AI teammates to annihilate the convoy. You don't even have to do anything, just walk into a waypoint when all the screaming has stopped. You don't need night vision goggles either, the sun is already rising after you leave the scene of destruction. After you leave the destroyed convoy behind, the real action starts.

The extraction objective didn't trigger for me, so after an extended period of seriously fun white knuckle firefighting with infantry pinning us down and flanking us, it was just me, Masood, Furuqi, and Spanta who managed to take down both IFVs and eliminate all the remaining infantry. Then nothing happened. Until I decided to advance, at which point the radio messages and extract objective triggered. Guessing you used an area trigger. Minor thing, but perhaps not the cleanest way to advance the objectives. After that it was a hectic run to the finish. Masood didn't make it. He got clipped because he was too stupid to pick up fresh ammo and insisted on going unarmed. We'll always remember him.

Awesome mission, despite the beginning being very strange (you have to wait a looong time in the dark because the convoy is moving strangely slowly, use the speed up key),
What you should note at the beginning is to not shoot but just wait. At one point the mines will explode and it will really get started! No NVG is actually very nice one you have some blown up vehicles that give off enough light.
The rest is really nice action and very immersive. (Just be patient at the beginning!)

Great mission, no need for NGV at all, convoy does move a bit slow, but all works out in the end.

Some missions take me right back to that feeling of immersion in the world that the original Operation Flashpoint had.

This is one of them. In fact, it may be one of the best.

Ignore the complaints about no NVG; they're truly not needed. Just wait a while and you will have one of the best singleplayer experiences Arma 3 has to offer.

the convoy moves SUPER slow, no night vision, looooong wait for action, no RPGs, the mines never expolode, this mission just does not work

Tried twice, the AI ruins the mission (can it be due to recent overhaul?), the convoy moves like 3 feet per minute, stucks to the road. If i would wait till it comes to the killzone, ill have to wait few hours... zapped the convoy on the serpentines 200m before the kill zone, picked slowly one AI after one from 200-75 meters, they didnt return fire, like they do not see me. Maybe the scripts need to be updated? Destroyed everything and killed everyone, the mission didnt progressed to the next objective. Didnt bothered to go to the evac.

Not very good imo, I am afraid.
I get the thing without Night Vission, for the atmosphere. So I took them from an anemy soldier. I gave up with the mission when it was unclear where that second evacuation point is supposed to be. No coordinates were given and it was not marked on the map as well.
Maybe a bug ? I did not do much apart from letting the AI fight and trying to find out where to go...I got uninterested in that after a while.
Nice work on the atmosphere and generellay I appreaciate the effort of making such missions available for other sto play. So I thank you :)

Well done. Was like a real mission. Then in your future there's some wetnose buttondown collar fatass giving you a "needs improvement" evaluation for some suck job you have to take to feed the family, and just cause you KO him after he yells at you they say you have " PTSD "... War is Great - After war sucks ! NICE MISSION !!!

Overall a fun mission with some good, creative ideas. I'll be replaying it.

I wish I could reply to people in the comments.

The lack of NVG is a good thing, not having them plays to the idea that you're a guerrilla force. At the start its hard to see, but that goes away when the vehicles come round the bend, giving you time.

The mission was challenging, my guys all died early, we were few trying to stick it out, which also really helped in the feeling of being a guerrilla.

There were a few minor issues.

There was a flare noise popping off all the time, but no flares.

After the ambush, you go to the LZ but the waypoint and task still says to ambush. Eventually it went onto the next objective, but by the end it didn't show in the summary that I had completed it.

At the end, the helicopter left behind the soldiers that were with me.

Great job, really fun, short mission. I'll be subbing and looking forward to what you make next.

No nightvision makes this map very hard to play as you cannot see where you are going at the start. When I played, the mission got stuck on the "destroy the convoy" goal. All the vehicles were destroyed and as far as I know, all the troops were dead yet the mission did not advance. I imagine there is a probably a lone soldier hiding in the grass somewhere but I couldn't be bothered to find him/her :P

This is a nice enough mission. I like the twist.
A few issues that could be improved:
- Script error, then Destroy Convoy task showed as complete during the UAV style intro scene, but didn't show as complete during the mission.
- Seems very implausible that the player as squad leader wouldn't be equipped with NVGs.
- Flares coming from nowhere, with the launch sound always centred on player (sound should be 3d)
- Binoclars are stored, but not equipped for many units.

Really enjoyable mission with great atmosphere!

I did encounter a problem however. The Destroy Convoy objective never completed, even when all the vehicles were burning and there were no infantry left. I also noticed a couple of squads of infantry that apeared to have spawned in dead. They were just up the hill past the ambush site, I think to the west. They might be why the task never completed.

I was running some mods, but the only ones I think might have interfered were:

Brilliant mission, so simple yet so fun.
I recommend this mod with Blastcore or Blastcore Tracers.
It was an amazing light show that lasted for at least 5 or 7 minutes.

@Burner - Sometimes it seems like the AI just knows where you are even when they can't see you and there's really good explanations for that. Short version: someone else probably saw you first. It's not perfect, and it can be really twitchy when you ambush it sometimes, but I usually don't have any problems until I've been spotted, or done something that clearly would raise alert levels. The AI does not just shoot first if it spots you because it's smart enough to use communication (i.e. telling the APC where you are) to kill you. Also, they have enhanced optics as well as firepower, and combine that with a good knowledge of the lay of the land and it's easy to out maneuver you.

Good mission, but some bad bugs ruin it. I loved the mussle and bullet flash effects from the beginning in the dark when you don't have the NVG and everything lights up (you can pick the NVG from the dead body after). The convoy was destroyed, but somehow I couln't get "Complete" task. Then all hell got lose after that, it was the hardest fight ever :). APC where to powerful in this mission, AI couln't deal with it. AND the fight gave the good idea how ARMA cheats with you, seeing you even behind the hill - I was sneeking with RPG to kill APC in behind and hell, he drived exactly where i was going and stoped :P

Great mission except for one thing: too many APC's. I had to replay the mission five times simply because none of the AI that had AT could hit the second APC. Losing the mission repeatedly due to AI is very frustrating. I ended up shooting one of the friendly AI near the beginning of the mission and grabbing his AT.

I must say, this mission is awesome and full of atmosphere. its interesting playing as CSAT, and the lack of NVG's makes it an interesting and beautiful night. the *SPOILER* ambush by the trucks with mechanized infantry coming over the hill was tense and beautiful with RPG fire coming from our lines and cannon shells impacting all around, the tracer rounds given to all troops was very helpful and a nice aesthetic. the flames in the forest were great.

only 2 minor bugs: the flares keep popping even when we were out of the area, its noisy, and a bit upsetting to the quiet atmosphere.

secondly, the mission didnt go through the objectives on the map properly, (and mark them as completed)

lastly, the helicopter coming in, maybe make it fly lower (this flyinheight 10) as its behind enemy lines, and wouldnt want to risk an AA missle right? :P

music was great.

i lost 4 men, killed 6, (my squadmates were professional) and they moves across country great!

too many apcs at the end to complete the mission, 1 would have been enough.
