Where is the Lua.file to change the percentage or which is it? This is missing in the description of the mod

hey fyi, the latest update broke it somehow. The visuals of the asteroids are still changing, but if you hover over them they're still the old asteroids, and the ships aren't mining them.

i'm looking at the code for the game's asteroidfieldgenerator.lua, and it obviously got some changes to support Rift Sectors spawning is set 'ways', so i'm thinking that your mod will probably work if it's "simply" re-done to the new file. E.G. i don't think it's breaking Rift specifically, i think it's just not working because it's from the old version of the file.

I'm pretty sure it still works everywhere but the Rift DLC, so maybe if there's a flag for the Rift sectors that you could catch and halt the mod... idk just a thought

This mod was breaking the new Rift DLC: with this mod, going into the Rift mission would cause nothing to be spawned (this seems to be a recurring issues with any mod that messes with Asteroid generation)

What is the original % in vanilla? Don't see it compared anywhere so don't know how much of a difference this mod really makes atm

change the variable from 0.35 to 0.5 or more.

steamapps/workshop/content/-----somenumber or last downloaded folder (if just downloaded it), then move to the lib directory and edit asteroidfieldgenerator.lua, its the only file there. Variable is near the top of the file, you cant miss it. :)

should be in the galaxy folder of the server, right?
After adding it in the modconfig, I THINK it auto downloads the mods the next time you start up the server.
But you also got to give it some time to finish that download I think,... it doesn't exactly show you its progress AFAIK.

After that, in the galaxy folder of the server, you should have a config file for the mod. Same as a regular game. I think. Don't quote me on it. :-p

Should give you enough to start on,.... until someone more knowledgeable comes along and either corrects me, or confirms it.

Added this to my server but i'm not sure where it saves the config file to customize the percentages. Anyone have an idea? I added the mod via modconfig.lua..

Okay done and done, added a variable at the top of the file for people to customize it, and changed the amount to about 35%. Which is still plenty without being overboard.

I have no opinion here. I subscribed anyhow and got no complaints. Just was backing Erabior since I noticed the same thing with the lack of options that actually work on the workshop(this is the only one as far as I can tell)

The mod as it is already seems pretty much perfect for servers. But the sparkly asteroid fields are kinda jarring, lol.

would it be more difficult to replace the percentage in each function with a variable that is defined either at the top of the .lua or in a config file? because if not, then everyone can choose their own percentage

i genuinely do no think there are. I would do it myself but i cant seem to find where in the .lua you specify the percentage of asteroids to be generated as resource asteroids

It turns a high percentage of asteroids into resource asteroids.

The mod as is, does it lead to fields abundant in resources or do you need to go into the .lua and change the amount? I personally like seeing vast fields of resource asteroids.

It seems to be broken on the Beta branch, im assuming its due to changes to the asteroids themselves from changelog, are there any plans for an update?

Probably some compat. issue there. Maybe check the console or logs for conflicts?

Love this mod, it's essential on my server. One thing I've realised is I use a strip mining and salvaging mod too, and at times (Happens more often recently) the mining lasers will just skip over asteroids to mine, is it possible there's a compatability issue? I only ask here as I don't know where else to ask. Much thanks for the great work and any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

its not a bug... you can get these big asteroids as resource ones aswell even in vanila... they are just rarer

Well, not sure why it does that, all I did was change the probabilities for the asteroids which already can be resources, I didn't add anything or change the claimable ones, so not sure if I can fix it.
