This is a neat item idea. From my runs so far it seems to work correctly and be pretty well balanced.

Continuing a current playthrough to check for errors might not be the best idea since mods don't save data (in this case, their variable values) by default; that has to be programmed in. In other words, continuing a run is more likely to mess up certain mods. As far as I can tell, Shady Pass works fine with save data, but it's something to consider.

There are two places you can check for errors: the console will usually show what you need to know, but if it doesn't, there's also the log file probably located at "C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+\log.txt". If you see an error that mentions "shady_pass", it's probably something wrong with this item. If you don't know what the error means, you can always post a screenshot.

Were the spawned items free? If not, what did they cost?

(Also, when testing something to see if I could recreate that bug, I found a different bug which I'll fix later, so thanks for that)

It happened again. When I got back on after a crash with that dummy my first comment mentioned, again, there was just the 1 item for sale. I played the floor, and upon starting the new floor, it happened again. It places items like a Snake game, around, then down the up, right. etc.
I tried to read the console, but couldn't make sense of it. Plus, a different mod I never use fills up the text file I found, whatever that file means. Since I need to restart the playthrough to remove a few other mods anyways, I'm removing the shop mod, tom.

Kinda update: First, thanks for replying so fast.
I had unsubscribed from the Shop mode mod, but resubbed after I realized that I could just unsubscribe in game instead, and that I wanted to test the mods. I went in, opened up my current save I"d crashed on, and... after a second, I was in, in the span room, but with only 1 item in the room. I left, through the same door as the 1st time, and that room was uncomplete again?
I'll stick with it, and try to find a log somewhere if it happenes again.

Yep, it definitely looks like your crash was caused by a combination of Shop Mode, Shady Pass, and something else you picked up (probably due to an oversight on my part).

To make the spawned item restock-able, Shady Pass checks if the item in the current spot is free and, if it is, spawns another item in the closest spot. Shop Mode doesn’t affect devil deal items (even if it did, Shady Pass always spawns items that cost one heart, and IIRC it resets the price to one heart on every frame... not very efficient, but this was the first mod I made), so something else you picked up must have done something to make it rapidly spawn items. I can look into it in more depth later, but it might be a while since I’m busy with other stuff.

You can access the console with ~, then type “giveitem _____” to give yourself an item. If you see this bug again, open the console and let me know if it shows any errors.

Glad to hear that! The decision between those two version (dark or bright) is wuite difficult for me two. I tested them wuite a bit and Im' still unsure which one I like more :D

Smaller version? Oh, the imgur links already come with two pngs. The first one is a screenshot so that you can see the sprite and the second one is the actual item sprite (32×32). I double checked it just to make sure it works:)

Those look good! I think I like the brighter one a little more. But can you upload it as a 32x32 or smaller image with no background (or a solid color background)? Resizing the bigger version changes the colors.
