I ran into an issue where Leather shirt-slot items couldn't be crafted. I noticed that this was an issue with the mod that's since been fixed (Change notes say it was in 2022). Has anyone else encountered this issue since that change?
I've also read that what is supposed to happen is that special recruits with a non-Drifter faction (like Kang being part of the Shek Kingdom) are supposed to retain their original colors, which would also be true for any recruited through a recruitable prisoners mod. This would seem to imply that your game is actually working as intended. Ironically enough, mine changes all recruits' colors to my faction's default on save/reload, but retains previously dyed gear, so I have a short window of time to dye with the new recruit's faction colors if I want to. I actually wish my game worked the way yours does so I could easily have more variety without having to try to dye everything before I save and load. Sigh, Kenshi.
Have you tried equipping gear on the recruits again after saving and reloading? Do they still have their old colors then?
And if Kenshi 2 has the same monotone uniformity, i'll make it for the sequel too =)
Thank you for sticking with me.
I have been struggling with a number of things for the past few years, including losing my home and career and much of my health. So I just want to be honest that I do not know how soon I will be able to give this mod the attention you all deserve for supporting it for this long.
There's also a screenshot in the images of the items
i give you words and pictures both! You get to choose!
I've made the patch mod, named "ver.11" but this still effects on this version.

And your mod needs more detail in description as it adds a lot of unspecified things like shoes, goggles and etc, which is very disorienting, because I didn't add any armor and it is there all of a sudden.
That was my fault, i gave everything the same map so it all has the Empire logos. It's one of the things I'm working on fixing now but i want to make sure the texture is high quality :)
I'll see if i can find which exact conflict is causing this - must be a popular mod since it keeps coming up. Mind DMing me your load order?
Stone Rats will no longer be primer-white. Next up: the Mercs in the swamps, as soon as i track down which squads are theirs.
So, looking deeper, it seems that the Mercenaries' Guild heavies and captains and whatnot were all explicitly wearing *empire* Samurai Armor in the base vanilla game. They're already defined as colored version with the logo. I'm no longer sure where we got the idea that a logo-less version of samurai armor was being made in the world but i think it went unused.
I might be able to add it as a new thing if people want it, but for the moment going to focus on continuing the cleanup and making sure these weird errors some people report aren't reproducible.

and if you prefer the previous shiny version and had no issue, go into Steam's "change notes" on the sidebar -> and pick the previous version.
Lots :D
Next up will be properly separating the Empire-logo samurai armor from the normal, logo-less Sam chestplate, sorry about that - when I first started the mod I didn't realize how that was being done. Now I do. As it's been so long, I will also be looking at all other pieces some more and making sure nothing seems out of balance, but mostly, the pieces look about the level of color and grunge combo i was going for.
Again - i am having none of the weird bugs or issues reported. So i can't do much about them.
Try starting a new game, or even a cheat-start game so you can get armor, with only my mod active. And see how they look.
More work is ongoing but as people are reporting issues, I wanted to get a clean update available asap. Please note that this mod is still working 100% ok for me with the exact version I upload; no crashes, no invisible armors, etc. I'm afraid you have a mod conflict - more than one mod trying to change the same thing. I might be able to help, but you'll have to do the first part of looking yourself.
The Samurai Armor should no longer blind you from 20 miles away. It still looks like metal, and looks like it's been taken proper care of, but with more of the Kenshi grit and grime vibe (especially the boots should be a litle dustier) while still keeping the faction colors.
