brilliant chamber! still curious as to how you made it so you cant put portals on the dev textures though... :p2aperture:

Amazingly cursed, I loved it

A clever test chamber, and I LOVE the art style/chamber theme, and would love to see more in the theme!

Even following people's playthrough exactly, the last part won't work for me, because I get stuck on the red gel at the ramp. Faith plate won't give enough momentum to slide up the ramp and across to the blue part opposite.

Really cool map. I literally shouted "no way!" when I was watching that last move play out, so very satisfying. The aesthetics were fresh and original. Thanks for making!

Nice map, although I was a little confused (and probably broke it somewhere along the line). I loved the environment you created tho, all the "Dev Texture" chambers out in the distance were great!

What's the big deal, It's just the starter map.

Really good map! Puzzle-wise, I think the speed gel could have been reused but it was fun overall. I really liked the theming of the map, it was pretty unique. Favorite :)

Oh! That makes a lot of sense. :steamfacepalm:
Now I wish I'd kept the demo so I could re-render 😛

@Instantition
The recoloured gel was because you played B-Trip. It doesn't set the gel colour back, and so all maps that use propulsion gel would have the purple shade.

I was often rewarded for browsing, so I kept doing it. Not the fastest playthrough, but that's not always what it's about. The whole not dying->falling bit was an excellent fit for this map, both as a convenience and thematically.

It's the tiniest unit of a shame that recoloring the propulsion was necessary to make it work with the level decor. (And I had just played B-Trip, featuring the same gel color!) The level decor is one of the big selling points, after all.

A few critiques: I didn't really know that button was up there on the platform, and when I activated it by using the cube (which I brought along more from principle than anything) I had no idea what was moving.🙃 I was quite confused.

From there I was able to eventually arrive at the solution (although I cannot help but suspect there are more). I would generally agree that the strength of the level is the exploration and theme, over the light puzzle.

While I do really like the ideas, the execution was a bit off for me. It could just be my retarded graphics card, as it has given me trouble with portal 2 in the past, but it was all wayyyy too dark for me. If the hammer design ever interferes with the player's asessment of the puzzle it's usually an immediate thumbs down from me, it's why I have some problems with PS:Mel. As for the puzzle itself, you're right in not being much of a puzzlemaker, there wasn't really anything there, most of my experience through the whole map was just fumbling around in the dark trying to figure out what was even going on.... With all that said though, I did truly enjoy the creativity of the design, and would love to potentially see something like it done again, with more of an actual puzzle and way more polish. The effort is here though, and I love to see it.

Honestly not sure how to rate this, especially considering that it could only be insanely dark from my end :/ but due to the lack of puzzle I think my rating would be more negative. Good work though, and best of luck.

Very very neat design concept. I enjoyed it a lot. Thumbs up.
kwinten 12 Aug, 2019 @ 5:30pm
Ah it's a double trigger_catapult then ? Ok cool !
Wii2  [author] 11 Aug, 2019 @ 7:54pm
@kwinten There are no trigger_pushes in this map. Although, I do believe I may have made the faithplate's trigger a tad bit large, I'll go fix that.
kwinten 11 Aug, 2019 @ 4:50pm
funny stuff ! I like the original design too
The negative point for me however is the use of a trigger_push to force the player to use the catapult , i don't like the feeling of not having the possibility to do something that could work in another way
That was cool to play, thanks for creating !
