Hi! It's been a couple years but here I am once again using your mod for the latest and greatest of Kenshi runs. I was wondering if there's a way to manually change the rarity of specifically shop based Meitou drops? I know there are factors for it but I do think the spawns for that specifically are pretty insanely high and would like to bring them down to a fraction of what they are now since I commonly see 2+ Meitou in most weapons shops. Great mod though I've always loved it!!

Thanks!

@TheAshby Hi, that I can answer that.

The armor is the Azuchi Armor from this mod (red and black ish?): https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1363848335&searchtext=

(Genesis has 4 variations already in it if you are using that: red, dark blue, black and samurai grey)

I also use the External Muscle Suit Mod for the shirt layer.

This mod is great, but I want to ask a silly question. Is the armor that appears in the mod miniature, is it yours too or is it from another mod? goes great with the new weapon skins if you're so kind as to tell me where that armor comes from!

alright ty

@UncleDoctor
Import is necessary to update the shops tables.
Works retroactively with any mod that adds weapons to the affected shops (all screencaps include
a couple modded weapons)
Doktober 11 Aug, 2020 @ 12:36pm
Also is import necessary?
Doktober 11 Aug, 2020 @ 12:20pm
Does this happen to work with mod weapons that also have a meitou version or is it base game meitou weapons only?

@Rue Awesome, It's cool that we are like minded in that regard :)
Zaka Waka 13 Feb, 2020 @ 4:41pm
Yup it worked perfectly, i'll definitely be sure to remember this trick if I ever mod more textures in the game. A+
Zaka Waka 13 Feb, 2020 @ 4:28pm
Oh wow that's pretty awesome to know. I am not a modder brain type at all outside of having used mods in certain games here or there, but I am still very new to kenshi modding so whenever something doesn't just work after hitting the sub button i'm a bit lost. I'll give it a try right now, because it was the only real issue I had with the mod so far. I like having an actual worthwhile way to spend my money once I get into the later game when I have a lot more of it just sitting around. Plus like you said, it lets there be a lot, lot more variety. :steamhappy:

@Rue Thanks for the feedback :)

The weapon previews are actually generated by the game itself.

there's an easy fix for that though. However it is a manual fix.

1. Go to Wherever your kenshi install is, Mine looks like this;
steamapps> common > Kenshi > Data > Icons
(This folder holds all the games non UI icons)

2. Search 5229
(All the icons with 5229X are game generated meitou icons)

3. Highlight all 5229s and delete.
(This is safe, as the game generates the icons based on the texture for these weapons, and will just regenerate them with the new textures when you run into them, so if you do uninstall my mod and want them to go back to vanilla, just do this again).

Hi I just want to say this mod is pretty cool, but I had a question. Since I am also trying out your gold textured meitou weapons it makes it pretty easy to spot them during the game, but in shops specifically I find it pretty hard to actually spot when these weapons are in stock without checking every weapon's info.

I saw in the screenshots it shows the weapons for you, but then realized it was with the black and red texture mod instead. Is there any way you can make it so gold weapons have custom textures in inventories as well? I figured the gold texture came out after both of these mods so that is probably why it was never included, but it would be pretty cool if it was.

All and all great mods, found it kind of weird why meitou weapons did so little to stand out/disliked how exceedingly rare they were.

Great idea please do Increase the prices Thank you for the mod Keep up the good work
chickywave 26 Aug, 2019 @ 10:47am
thanks a lot for answering, yeah it looks fairly simple, i wish you luck when you have time to test everything,
Talonn  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 11:27am
It's a fairly quick process too, the only thing holding me back from doing it now, is that I usually test it for a couple hours before I upload it.
Talonn  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 11:26am
@chickywave On changing the values manually, I'll tell you how I customize mods I've downloaded.

1. Copy and past the mod folder into your kenshi directory. [Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods\1835150211] (if there isn't a mods folder, just create one)
2. Rename 1835150211 to Meitou Loot and Sales Vanilla (So that it matches the actual .mod file in the folder/ or just rename the folder and file to whatever you'd like)
3. Open the file in FCS
4. Click "Changes" on toolbar
5. Double click On the Vendor List changes and just look for the "Cross" additions.
6. Edit as much as you'd like!

I usually do it this way because the item references are more clear or something so editing changes is more streamlined. It looks like a lot of steps but its fairly simple.
Talonn  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 11:18am
@chickywave The price increase is a really good idea, if I remember right there's a way to do it. Weapons have their own price multiplier that scales as quality increases, not quite sure about quality multiplier though, but I will look into it! It's probably something simple tbh,
chickywave 24 Aug, 2019 @ 3:51pm
I'm not asking you to do it, just if there is a way to change the price range for the whole meitou range
chickywave 24 Aug, 2019 @ 3:50pm
@Talonn Yeah, the mod has been working very well for me, i just think that a version that spawns like 2 or 3 would be very nice, still i really love this mod, don't really see myself deleting it, but it would be excellent if they were rarer, on the other side, there is no rush for it, you can take as much time as you want if you really want to do it. Also a question, you can change the prices of them? like make them more expensive? i think 44k cats for an ancient sword that can destroy anyone in too hits is a bit cheap, thanks for the mod man, i really appreciate it
Talonn  [author] 18 Aug, 2019 @ 8:39pm
@chickywave The sword in the bottom Left would be the the Combat blade I believe, one of Fox's mods here on the nexus.

I was thinking about doing a vanilla version with rates a little lower for people who prefer the rarer experience if the demand was high enough. Honestly wouldn't take too long, I could literally just copy and paste this mod into another folder and edit the values under the Changes tab one by one.

Main thing is, I haven't had the time to test it, when I had the values this low (3-5%), when I initially had the idea for this mod, I literally never got any, it was almost as if nothing was changed.

To be fair some of the values may be a little high.
chickywave 17 Aug, 2019 @ 1:37am
Also, is there a chance i can lower that percentage of possibility to like a 1-5% i think meitou are pretty rare and i want to keep it a bit that way
chickywave 17 Aug, 2019 @ 1:30am
what is that cool looking sword on the bottom left of the third picture?
Talonn  [author] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 8:39pm
@Javara The armour is the Azuchi Armour, available here on the workshop. And the Meitou Skin is my other, and first mod Black and Red Meitou .
Jarvavion 16 Aug, 2019 @ 1:43am
Unfortunately completely unrelated to your mod, but what mods are you running in those screenshots? The skins on the meitou weapons and that samurai armour look incredible.
