I like to think Keith is actually Ellis's hallucination, whenever a zombie dies it's actually Ellis who did it.

Maybe in an alternative universe Nick is killed by the infected and only Ellis,Keith,Coach and Rochelle are the only 4 survivors left.Thats my theory.
