Hi, I want to port this model to HL2 and came here to ask for your blessing to post it on the HL2 Workshop. I've already got this working in HL2, I just need to make all those extra mdl files for certain episodic scenes, as well as the labcoat one

I installed this mod once then removed it from the custom folder, but the gibs still are affected. (Meaning if I gib a regular vortigaunt, its gibs will have this mod's skin). Any ideas?

i manually installed it, the alien grunt mod works fine its just the vortigaunt that doesnt work

One of my friends had a bug where the ragdoll doesn't work as well, but it's heavily modded.
It works fine when manually installed in their custom folder, so, it's definitely something on Black Mesa's end that I can't fix

The mod works; you might have conflicting mods installed.

It is absolutely something with your mod or game setup. It is physically impossible for this or Juniez's model to break the vortigaunt ragdoll because nothing has been changed with the collision mesh, physics information, or skeleton. I couldn't fix it because it would break the mod for everyone else, and there's nothing this mod does that would even cause that to happen

@Jackerino it happened before with juniez model so i got this instead and completey removed the juniez but it still does the same just less buggy and doesn't make certain props delete themselves and doesn't go into dev mode. by showing stuff that is dev info for back grounds scenes and etc. and by what i mean does the same its when the model just does Big Stretchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. and it happens to most of the body torso and etc. i also have only 5 pages of none conflicting addons.

New update!

The models are updated to have proper gib improvements, fixed some .smd references (to hopefully fix it not working for some people), and also updated the animations.

The hivehand bug has been fixed, too!

Even knowing it's based heavily on the original Vortigaunt, I can't help but feel that this looks more like some kind of really slick EVA suit they'd wear to Earth (after all, the Alien Grunts wear armor!). I don't know if the Vortigaunts on Earth and on Xen are separate entities or not, but if there were a way to get that sort of difference into the game, it'd be goddamn sweet.

Alright, so I tried putting a "$nodecal 1" setting into the material for this model, and it fixed the CTD problem! It seems that the Hivehand bee tries to put a decal on models it hits and the model doesn't respond well to it, so just putting "$nodecal 1" into a line in the .vmt fixes the problem!

I downloaded the mod but the vortigaunts dont have the texture, am i suppost to do anything after the download?

The only problem with this mod is that the Vortigaunts don’t have the same eyes, so it really breaks the immersion. Don’t get me wrong, the rest is good, I just think the eyes are fine when reused from BM/HL2. Also, the Nihilanth could use a revamp if it does need one. It’s flotation device could look more combineish and part of him, making him look like a synth, his skin could look more dead and wrinkly, his eyes should be black to suggest destruction, and his third arm stitch should return. This is just how I think he should be revamped. I can’t remodel as good as you. You are the best at remodeling.

That's correct, I just simply don't know how to use shapekeys and facial flexes with source models yet. I like imagining it's something akin to snake eyes, which is why I had the eyes get faded when they die.

This is a lovely mod but there's a single flaw with the model - the eyes don't blink or move at all as far as I can tell.

too many indices for index buffer? That's usually the result of too many vertices being rendered at once. It would be attributed to all the mods you have, but I can definitely lower the poly count on my model. Thanks for letting me know!

I was experiencing the "too many indices for index buffer" error, and as a result my game would CTD. I'm not sure whether or not it had anything to do with your mod combining with the many mods that I have right now. But the CTD's stopped as soon as I unsubscribed from your mod.

Just thought I'd let you know.
