Ugh! I know that feeling. After years of neglect, I finally got around to fixing up my Stellaris mod... but I couldn't figure out how to upload it. :confounded:
Still, thanks for the mod while it lasted!
It does that for any faction. The mod was going to be updated, but something happened. As there has been no word since that announcement on Jan 4th 2021.
I've tried this mod and it really helps the game go more smoothly because late game kindof bogs down a lot with administrative details, managing dozens of cities, ect.
It's either abandon, or something happened.
I hope the former (simply because of the next part), but the latter could be a possibility with the recent plague.
I have heard the same, and even dealt with some of it to a limited extent on other games. Steam is a POS when it comes down to it. But it's still the best launcher out there. Which is sad to say.
As if it wasnt hard enough for ppl not being paid, to keep up with constant version changes in so many games...
Ive heard this problem reported across many mods from more than several games. It even seemed to kill more than a few mods from what i've seen over the years.
It's sad how unfriendly corporations ahve ALWAYS been to the Mod Community. we used to release better stuff than most DLCs & for free LONG BEFORE 'DLC' Was ever thought of.
And we'd all often get hammered then forgotten for putting in such love and work.
Should a seen all the mods for the Original Mafia!
Even Mafia 2 had some good ones like Day/Night cycle. Did that ever get in a DLC? Nope..
hmm.. Ranting again Glytch, time to return to my Cave.
Actually, if you scroll farther down, there are reports of this as far back as April that are reporting this way before Rice did. He knows about it, and has explained what is taking so long. The repeated reports and conformations are not needed, just your patience.
But in all honesty;
Yes, I'm self interested. And yes, I would like this mod to work because the vanilla sucks. But because of all that, you are one of the very few people that I hope does not catch this crap. If for no other reason than the fact that you can update this.
And I apologize if that seems a bit 'cold'. But I am an extremely 'cold' person.
If I'm being honest, I have no idea when I'll get around to updating it. Mondays are my only day off, and I try to relax and play. Maybe once things slow down a little more at work I can.
I'll level with you man, that's unlikely, as I work six days a week, I don't have time for a second mod project.
Because even weak regeneration is quite strong and prime immortality ... Something like +10% health per level for example?
themselves.
A more balanced approach might look something like, +25 morale, 3%, accuracy, and 3% evasion per level. With a 5% regeneration per turn added at prime rank. I would probably eliminate the evasion bonus for the cumbersome units.
I've played mostly with the Vanguard (mainly infantry) and I think these bonuses make sense for them, across their whole roster. Other bonuses might make more sense for other races.
I hope I didn't come across as ungrateful. I do appreciate the time and effort modders put into their craft. I'm just trying to give some constructive feedback.
I like the concept of troops getting better with experience, but but I'm not sure I like the way this is balanced across units.
Ten HP per level will double the HP pool of a lot of low tier units. The once per battle resurrection also seems extreme to me. There are tactical operations that do that. That seems to greatly strengthen low tier units relative to the higher ones.
I'm on the fence about the regeneration. I think it should probably be moved to the Prime rank. I can imagine factions like the Vanguard giving their veteran troops some kind of nanite augment as standard issue. Ten percent seems high and makes it competitive with a lot of mods. Five percent is probably more reasonable
Seemed like something always got lost in translation when uploading. Might get back in to it later, but I recently switched jobs, and the hours don't leave much time for modding.
I'll try to repair it to the modern standards in a few weeks.
To be honest, ain't even touched Planetfall in a few weeks, just recently started a new job, so that's been my focus lately. Maybe when the updates slow down slightly I'll look back in to updating it.
