Go nuts
balistafreak 11 Jan, 2021 @ 1:16am
I'd like to use the textures in your Flak Dusters mod in my own, if that's okay with you. You and this mod will be credited.

I'm asking to use the textures specifically, and not simply 'take over' the mod, because my mod is larger in scope by including many other supplementary armors, such as "flak parkas".

Please get in touch with me ASAP!
Sylvi GreensSlut 2 Nov, 2020 @ 11:16pm
Thanks!

It'll be mine too so it'll be a learning experience...friended you...or if u can tell me where to get the files from. thanks!
Veronika Holmes  [author] 2 Nov, 2020 @ 8:19am
Go for it! Be warned, though, this was my first RimWorld mod, so it's not very well done.
Sylvi GreensSlut 1 Nov, 2020 @ 7:08pm
Aww, that sucks...maybe I can take the mod over. I really hate cloth dusters! Thanks so much!
Veronika Holmes  [author] 31 Oct, 2020 @ 8:05pm
Probably a bug. I'm unlikely to fix it, though as I've ceased support for this mod.
That reminds me, I should probably update the description to reflect that..

As the pic shows, I have enough materials, and yet the dusters never get made. I send a pawn to do it, and it says I need materials. Am I missing something? Or is this a bug? Halp! thanks!
Veronika Holmes  [author] 18 Sep, 2020 @ 3:33pm
Undoubtedly, but I'm not going to do that.
GreenSkye 18 Sep, 2020 @ 3:22pm
Would it be possible to make a Flak Cape as well for a Royal equivalent?
Veronika Holmes  [author] 11 Sep, 2020 @ 12:03pm
Should be working fine with 1.2
Sylvi GreensSlut 12 Aug, 2020 @ 11:55am
Please update to 1.2 soon!! :D I hate vanilla dusters. thanks!! <3
Sketch 12 Apr, 2020 @ 11:16am
Is there any way you can reduce the weight of the dusters? My devil strand flak jackets only weigh 3.8 kg while my devil strand dusters weigh almost triple that
Veronika Holmes  [author] 13 Mar, 2020 @ 10:45am
They're the same thing. The only thing I changed was the about file to be 1.1 compatible.
I've updated to file structure so it shouldn't be grouchy anymore.
Prometheus 13 Mar, 2020 @ 3:44am
Do you have the old 1.0 version? I'd like to stay in 1.0 for awhile before going to update for 1.1 sooner and later in the future due to my other mods.
PGMP 8 Mar, 2020 @ 9:10pm
No worries :) thank for taking a look tho :)
Veronika Holmes  [author] 5 Mar, 2020 @ 12:45pm
I have no idea how I could even begin to make something like that happen. This is pretty much the extent of my modding capabilities.
PGMP 5 Mar, 2020 @ 12:42pm
If its possible to provide us with a slide bar or something to change item value, materials required and work value it would be awesome !

If we could do that i would balance it this way.
- The duster should require both material cost for each item ( duster and flak jacket ).
- I would make the price 100% + 100% of both items with a 15% extra value.
- The work required to make it should be at least 180% taking in consideration that 200% would be the work value of both of the items individually.

Anyway thank you so much for your mod its great i hope you can help us with the tools to balance it to the player will.:cozykcdaxe::lunar2019coolpig:

Thank you!
Veronika Holmes  [author] 3 Mar, 2020 @ 12:38pm
It already worked with 1.1 as far as I know, but now it should work without throwing error messages at you.
ShadyBhaz 3 Mar, 2020 @ 9:01am
Hi author, could you kindly update this to 1.1? Thank you
WARANGELO II 27 Feb, 2020 @ 10:31pm
@ratboys This mod works well in 1.1 patch
ratboys 24 Feb, 2020 @ 7:37am
Update this mod please I love you developer
Xeal 2 Feb, 2020 @ 6:29pm
Maybe a little unbalanced? I've found no reason to use a flak jacket over these since these come with both heat and cold insulation. Unless that's been changed since I last played, otherwise I would prefer it didn't do both.
Veronika Holmes  [author] 4 Oct, 2019 @ 8:15pm
I think so. Seemed balanced enough to me.
Exodus永 4 Oct, 2019 @ 3:39pm
balanced or?I don't really want my game to be too easy
Uncertainty 28 Sep, 2019 @ 5:52pm
Well it sort of does because it will attempt to convert the armor values but it can make them absolutely broken
Veronika Holmes  [author] 27 Sep, 2019 @ 12:53pm
Unless CE automatically alters armor values into it's deflection chance mechanic, that'd be a no. But I can't see how this would outright break a game running CE, though.
Lovecraft 27 Sep, 2019 @ 11:30am
CE compatible?
Star~Verse 21 Sep, 2019 @ 2:25pm
I love the mod, and the idea, but i cant seem the flak duster out of devilstrand
Vakaria 17 Sep, 2019 @ 7:11pm
Cool idea! Trying it right now. Thanks for sharing!
Gryphonheart 7 Sep, 2019 @ 7:21pm
I really like this. Dusters just look too damm good. ;)
rumismyfriend 4 Sep, 2019 @ 5:10am
That quick fix seems to have worked well enough. My flak duster pawns can take on a pack of boars with ease but a bullet or two to the midsection leaves them incapacitated, same as their flak jacket chums. The only difference I notice is that they look snazzier while they bleed out.
Veronika Holmes  [author] 30 Aug, 2019 @ 7:20pm
Och aye. I may have fudged a number or two. I'll re-look it over and see what's up.
rumismyfriend 30 Aug, 2019 @ 5:09pm
I've just had a little look at the numbers and I think that I've found the issue. The base value added to the (sharp) armour equation for ordinary flak jackets is 0.13, whereas for flak dusters it's 0.4. However the material effect for the former is 63% and 30% for the latter. I'm going to try using a base value of 0.2 for the flak dusters as it seems to roughly scale with the original jackets.

NB I'm using Combat Extended and about a million other mods so mileage might vary.
Veronika Holmes  [author] 30 Aug, 2019 @ 3:33pm
Unlikely, but if enough people start asking for a nerf, then I'll probably do it.
rumismyfriend 30 Aug, 2019 @ 3:19pm
I love the idea but it feels a bit unbalanced - a normal quality plainleather flak duster is about as protective as a masterwork devilstrand flak jacket. Any chance of a nerf?
Veronika Holmes  [author] 28 Aug, 2019 @ 8:43pm
@Dr. Jack Bright Go for it! Just try not to get it added you your list of things not to do!
Veronika Holmes  [author] 28 Aug, 2019 @ 8:42pm
@FlashPoint55 Check out the Flak Fabrics mod. That's got what you're looking for.

plz make flak pants version!
Veronika Holmes  [author] 26 Aug, 2019 @ 12:37pm
Superior materials will yield superior products. That's just how the game works.
agentbarron 26 Aug, 2019 @ 10:53am
so with this mod which are better, devilstrand flak jackets, or rhino leather flak dusters?
Mr.Madcap 25 Aug, 2019 @ 8:34pm
For something so simple it looks pretty good. Nice work.
Asher The Ranger 24 Aug, 2019 @ 8:40pm
Reminds me of the Courier Duster from New Vegas, this I like!

I didn't know I needed this before, but thanks.
