After looking closer at the new 1.1 code and how I made this MOD, it was clear I needed to start from scratch. The new MOD is more simply written but is for 1.1 only. I'm going to redact the 1.1 update for this MOD as it really won't work right.

I need to update this MOD yes. I will work on it this weekend and see what I can do.

For some reason, my colonists would rather eat raw meat than dried meat. Could ya fix that?
Oy! 8 Apr, 2020 @ 7:49pm
My Colonists wouldn't automatically eat these new items, is there a way to fix this without restarting?

Updated to also work with 1.1

Yassss. New meal to use more food resources.

Update pushed.

@Joth91 - It's not an issue, it's a lack of the needed additional textures. But as I'm typing this I figured I could just use the same texture and we would just access the same drying rack from different angles. I'll make an update, test, and push something out real soon. Thanks for saying something!

Having an issue where I can't seem to rotate the drying rack. Not a huge problem just thought you might want to know.

Also the wooden drying rack has the shadow of a 3 wide workbench.
Love the mod btw, other food mods add too much for my liking, and this one does exactly what I want out of one.

Would it be possible to remove the duplicate entries in the stockpile and bill filter?
As in, each of the raw vegetarian are both in the veg folder, and have their own subfolder.

ahhh I see now. might be time to start modding.........

But there's no way to tell non-cannibals not to eat it based on the ingredients used. If you let pawns eat fine meals, they'll eat all fine meals - even those made with human meat meant for the one cannibal in the colony. The stockpile zones also can't differentiate between the two, so they'd mix together. "Cannibal Meals (Continued)" fixes it for vanilla, for example.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 8 Sep, 2019 @ 10:10am
Cannibal versions? No plans to no. And now that I think of it you don't really think you need to, as you can edit the meats on any meals correct? Turning off regular meats and turning on human meats right?

NP at all. It's a creative outlet that I enjoy from time to time. Thanks for your kind words.

I actually started working on a mod for personal use a few weeks ago but got busy and never finished it. My mod was just adding more recipes that use the vanilla food types to give more incentive to growing more than just rice. Now I don't have to finish it because this seems like it accomplishes my goal plus a couple extras. And I already use the mods you suggested in the description so I'm assuming they work with this mod. I don't have time to play the game right now, but I'm downloading the mod and will test it out on my next session.

And I just want to say thank you for putting in the time and effort to do this mod. I know exactly how much work it is because I've made quite a few mods myself in the early Alpha stages of this game. So, thank you for your hard work.

I like the concept of better balancing the food groups for higher quality meals. Any chance it'll also add specific cannibal versions of the meals? It's easier to separate the meals when a completely separate cannibal version can be made.

yeah no problemo =)
TheGoofyOne  [author] 26 Aug, 2019 @ 9:46pm
Sounds cool but way beyond my abilities and ideas for this mod. :)
Frying_Dutchman 26 Aug, 2019 @ 5:23pm
Hey I like the direction you're going with this. Idk if you've ever thought about expanding the concept, but it would be super cool to have some more realism with this kind of mod. Such as breaking down nutrition needs of pawns from just a general 'nutrition' bar, to the bodies' actual needs, like protein, fats, minerals, and sugars.

So in reality, if you ate like the pawns do, and ate potatos all the time, or meat all the time, you'd eventually die from malnutrition of one of the other basic needs.

I personally don't know how to mod, but I'd be more than willing to make a donation for this type of mod to get developed.
TheGoofyOne  [author] 26 Aug, 2019 @ 1:31pm
Thank you very much. This was all I was trying to achieve, sensible processes for vanilla food.
superresistant 26 Aug, 2019 @ 9:39am
This mod makes sense
TheGoofyOne  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 4:19pm
Neat idea for sure, but I wrote it for vanilla food only.
Axiluvia 25 Aug, 2019 @ 12:58pm
I really like this idea (I do plenty of cooking myself too, lavish never made sense), and I know it's for vanilla, but could it be expanded to be able to include fruit with the berries and other vegetables with the corn? I'm not sure how mods work and if they'd have to be tagged individually or not. Perhaps an option to tag modded in raw food yourself.
