Large ships like this actually have flat bottoms, though displacements would be useful in making the hull shape more accurate.
Do you have Counter Strike: Source installed and mounted? If not, then this is why you are experiencing errors.
While I understand adding AA guns and searchlights might be a bit too much, I would recommend using displacements in the hull and blast bags, since standard brushes are not good for those things.
I would also recommend adding a skybox, as it stands, the sea cutting off so close to the ship looks wrong.
As for historical details, the first turret did not have rangefinders on the sides. Also those two spinning parts on the structure of the ship are gun directors, not radars. They are not supposed to spin like that, they just turn to aim the guns.
