is it possible to give Dwemer and Falmer a soft glow to simulate low-light vision as they are accustomed to underground living? Or something else that simulated low-light vision?

I know you don't use FU but I am asking for somebody that does to make a patch for this.

FU Patch please. (Frackin Universe)

Didn't dwemers had more of a blue-ish skin ?
Circe 4 Jun, 2023 @ 12:11pm
Dwemer as "dwarves" was an in-universe misunderstanding. TES lore is fun/weird like that.
zarby$ 4 Jun, 2023 @ 9:47am
but i'll take what i can get for dwarves
zarby$ 4 Jun, 2023 @ 9:46am
i could have sworn the dwemer were dwarves? no?
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 23 Sep, 2022 @ 3:38pm
@Etalbyn: oh sure! i'll accept your request so u can DM me! thank u btw!
Etalbyn 23 Sep, 2022 @ 1:38pm
@Voryn Dagoth Hey there! I love the work you've done, and am honestly kind of surprised your dwemer race continues to be the only "dwarf" race mod for Starbound! Though speaking of, I had a question I wanted to run by you whenever you get a chance, that I can either post here, or message you about on Steam (though apparently we have to be friends to do that), whichever you'd prefer!
Pönttinen (chill-lock) 17 Mar, 2022 @ 7:10am
okey dokey sound good :)
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 17 Mar, 2022 @ 6:16am
@itzwaffel: oooh i get it! i actually did make race traits for them for Oмεяυıп's Race Traits. i could use what i already have there and look into making them an FU racial stat patch, if i familiarize with FU racial stats o:

so i might look into this later! :)
Pönttinen (chill-lock) 17 Mar, 2022 @ 1:49am
Oh sorry for the misinformation, i didn't mean that there was a compatibility issue i meant that it's not balanced because in FU every race has their own weakness and skills, but don't worry about it if you don't use FU, it's not that big of a problem. :winter2019happydog: keep up the good work.
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 16 Mar, 2022 @ 5:43pm
@itzwaffel: unfortunately i am not sure how to do this bc i dont use FU myself. can you identify the incompatibility issue in your log file? if someone else can tell me what's causing it, ill fix it asap. :3
Pönttinen (chill-lock) 16 Mar, 2022 @ 2:03pm
could you make this and also your other elves of Tamriel mod Fu compatible. :)
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 17 Jan, 2022 @ 11:44am
@Oмεяυıп: oh yea thatd be fine! im not sure how id balance race traits for the individual elves in SB, but id like to base them on realistic bonuses they'd have in TES, since these guys are from that series! so i might have to back-and-forth with u about the elves

(Sorry btw i did not get back to u about the Lepidoptians, its just bc i was planning to introduce 1 other playable race in that mod and wanted to race-trait them both at once when the time comes :3)
Oмεяυıп 17 Jan, 2022 @ 10:48am
Heya!
Someone requested to have your races supported for my Race Traits mod! I wanted to ask you if you want to give your races specific stats and bonuses?
You can check out the public stat Google sheet and comment there! Race Traits - Stats Sheet [docs.google.com]
There is also the user-friendly form you can submit as well. (This option is easier to understand and navigate. You can also submit separate forms for each race, if you want.) Race Traits - Race Support Application [forms.gle]
I'd love to have your official support! I'd prefer if we can talk on Discord and not on Steam, if necessary.

And thats where it caan go pear shaped, whats to say they werent blind in a way but saw things in like Aura View or saw in Infared? Kinda like how the Predator helmet gave the multiple different bio-sensor sight in Predator 2 as it took out the spook team in the meatpacking plant. But I do agree its fantasy fiction which makes using common logic to identify racial perimeters difficult...
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 8 May, 2020 @ 3:51pm
a subterranean species is usually pale or they have under-developed/completely non-developed eyes, but tes is also fantasy fiction and doesnt follow logic in some ways. dwemer have eyes and from all indication of them, they werent blind and could see just fine. so really their whole skin thing could be Completely up in the air lol, i think its just all up to the fans to headcanon stuff until its actually confirmed in tes itself.

like, the distribution of biomes and climates on nirn also makes little sense if u look at how climate and environments work IRL on earth. sometimes you gotta look at how tes works and just shrug and accept it lol
Daeca 8 May, 2020 @ 12:10am
Oops, derp moment only just now do I realize I meant Vitamin D! XD
Daeca 4 May, 2020 @ 1:51am
Does this not sound like the personality factors that go into defining the Dwemer? ^.^ Perhaps it was better for them to be... Removed from the plane of existence? I still find it humorous that a race that was technologically advanced could be laid low by the likes of the Chimer, what was the point of all that technology if you don't use it to wipe out those that threaten everything you hold dear? And no, I don't count the final act as a means of using technology, the final act was a weapon of last resort and I'm pretty sure the result was not what the rest of the Dwemer wanted... whether it be spontaneous combustion that incinerated every single one, or entrapment by the god-like entities that dwell within the realms beyond the mortal plane, or perhaps they've ended up on another planet entirely and have become a modernized technologically driven civilization that perhaps roams the sea of stars if some far flung galaxy as 'Technomancers' or Magitech wielders...

Excerpt from https://www.healthline.com/health/symptoms-of-vitamin-b-deficiency (B12 in specific)
"What happens if you don't get enough: Vitamin B-12 deficiencies can lead to anemia and confusion in older adults. Psychological conditions such as dementia, paranoia, depression, and behavioral changes can result from a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Neurological damage sometimes cannot be reversed."

Incoming triple post: Well look heres the thing, They'd actually be pale due to spending most their time in subterrain cities and facilities, and I say this based on actual facts from discoveries in the real world, which while no Hominid has been found to dwell in subterrain areas, just if not all creatures that do are pale, no eyed and multi-legged due to adaption to the dark environment. Now putting aside the insectoid bits, one must assume the same would be true for humanoids living in exactly the same environments, due to lack of the UV light from the sun and incidentally the Vitamin B from sunlight. So in theory Dwemer would be paler than the Snow Elves who, while being pale-ish were dwelling in sunlight, so I think the ghosts of the dwemer you can find in Morrowind are actually true-ish skin color minus the whole see-thru aspect.
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 3 May, 2020 @ 12:28am
if its info confirmed in eso i wouldnt know about it bc i have not played anywhere near enough eso lol i am just a simple gamer who plays morrowind for 500 hours a day

idk about the guns rly, i just dont like shooting them i guess, im just comfier with the melee weapons system i suppose o:
which is fine, i mean i fair well lmao
Daeca 3 May, 2020 @ 12:21am
Lavender? Hmm, maybe its something from MMO? Btw Voryn, how can you not use a gun? it works on the same system that the swords use, all you need to do is spec your gear to have more energy for the highpowered stuff, or wear the normal stuff for regular pew-pew! If you want a gun mod with stable weapons I can provide the names for you, like Old World Armory for instance, its
IRL World War vintage stuff but it works, and works well and the energy per shot is reasonable enough that you can fire near continuously. or pick up Lyzeti's gunshop mod or his new stuff under the Ravy name, F.F.S. I can only remember fire/flame and smoke in the title, I know its abbreviation though. I prefer the reuploaded Gunshop mod myself, you get tanks, trucks, jeeps, halftracks, lotsa uniforms, weapons range from modern era all the way back to musket era and a whole buncha useful stuff like flare gun! Much Useful, So Wow! *Insert Doge Face* ;P ^.^
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 2 May, 2020 @ 7:03pm
is that canonically confirmed somewhere? as far as i kno in morrowind their actual skin tones were more or less unknown except for the inclusion of yagrum, but hes diseased :/
i just kinda winged it and thought brassy metallic colours would fit them
RevBunny 2 May, 2020 @ 1:39pm
The only problem I have with this is that the Dwemer had a lavender color of skin
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 29 Apr, 2020 @ 11:14pm
LMAO im like the exact opposite, i cant get used to using guns in starbound sgdjhfhgf
Daeca 27 Apr, 2020 @ 2:08am
Okay, I went back to confirm something else I noticed and all the racial swords are identical, which cause I never use swords I hadn't paid all that much attention when I looked in weapon category the first time. They aren't duplicated but they all look the same and since it doesn't display their stats, I presume they perform the same as well... I do pew pew not stab stab, I can't really fathom why anyone would use a sharp pointy thing in an era where theres all kinds of pew pew, even if all the melee weapons can have some nifty special abilities...
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 24 Apr, 2020 @ 3:48pm
@feyora: so i investigated a little and i think the duped armours happened because the tamriel race mods were created with a race template as a base, and the template included a few default armours attached that have the same names, those are most likely where the dupes are coming from, which was an oversight on my part
thanks for the heads up, i can probably just remove the duplicate armours
Daeca 22 Apr, 2020 @ 6:20am
I do have a question though, after subbing to both tamriel mods, my weapon/armor crafting stations are hella flooded with duplicate armors of specific kinds and I was wondering why? I mean there were already some duplicate armors in there but these pair of mods have added like 7-10x more of several sets and I'll go record the names and write them here since theres no discussion pin for potential issues, if required to do so. I only had a quick look but I did notice a pair of identical swords with different race names in the weapon list and so far nothing I know of is broken, just annoying now to surf the armor lists. XD

I still state that were the curse lifted, Dunmer would become Chimer again, its like Azura had casted Mass Polymorph on the entire Chimer population. As far as the Ayleid are concerned, I have a theory that the Ayleid bloodline has influenced the look of the Bosmer, but its just a theory and I can't really prove anything due to lack of data.
The Falmer... are difficult to talk about, the got a bad deal once they started losing to the ancient Nords and ended up in the hands of the Dwemer, who were thrilled at the prospect of an entire racial population of test subjects even if they had to all be blinded for this to occur... BUT, I still state on a technicality that they aren't lost just Changed Ones is all and now that I think about it, that should be the mod name! Changed Ones ^.^

At least we both apparently agree that the Dwemer are the truly Lost Ones but anyways thanks for making both mods and humoring me by responding to my pedantic post. I subbed both Tamriel mods. ^.^
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 21 Apr, 2020 @ 4:08pm
@feyora well like, its not super necessary to argue the semantics of the title? but also all of these races actually are completely lost or close to it at any point in history thats explored in current tes games

i know all that stuff, but the "falmer" presented in this mod are the original un-mutated version, which only 2 of exist in skyrim. pre-mutation falmer almost do not exist anymore on tamriel, which is what this mod is based on. chimer becoming dunmer also technically means that the chimer no longer exist, as they became something different and renamed themselves, so i figured chimer were an appropriate addition. ayleids are here because their culture is extinct and the remaining ayleid tribes were absorbed into the bosmer gene pool, effectively rendering ayleids lost
Daeca 21 Apr, 2020 @ 8:55am
So other than the Dwemer who erased themselves from existence, the Falmer aren't extinct just been mutated into creepy little fuckers that reside in caves due to experiments on them by the Dwemer. Chimer are actually the Dunmer, it was a curse from Azura that caused their change, so in a sense they still exist were Azura to ever lift the curse and return the Dunmer to their original Chimer form. Ayleids are now secluded tribals inside Bosmer territory, quite the fall from their previous imperialistic nature but they brought it on themselves... The only ones that fit Lost category are the Dwemer truly, the rest have been changed by the dynamics of their lore.

looking forward to a cute version of this.
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 5 Sep, 2019 @ 11:48am
@obelix petram: the bosmer are in my other mod for non-extinct elves

@jamie: no one knows if the dwemer women had beards or not, its not mentioned in-game its just a headcanon
Jamie 4 Sep, 2019 @ 9:55pm
I dont recall the female dwemer having beards. Their just elves that were underground.
Sweet Tooth 4 Sep, 2019 @ 7:07pm
but what about the bosmer?
Joyeuse 3 Sep, 2019 @ 9:52pm
"possibly custom ships"
There's lots of inspiration to take from The Elder Scrolls proper! Sun Birds, Blink-Root-Ships, Mothships, The Battlespire...
Voryn Dagoth  [author] 1 Sep, 2019 @ 6:09pm
@Ultimuh: they all use the apex ship as of right now but thats a good idea o:
Ultimuh 1 Sep, 2019 @ 10:44am
Does the Dwemer have Avian ships? Because that would be a decent placeholder for them until you have something more unique. I mean, Avians does have those magical crystal technology things, which seems kind to similar to what the Dwemer have.
