@Aneonen Assuming you used the stormsend method, its easier to see than the intended solution, but the intended has much easier going timing. Thanks for playing my maps, feedback is much appreciated:)

Nice puzzle - the timing was definitely a bit rough but the principle guiding the sequence of getting a portal on the ceiling of the chute by using repulsion gel on the upper area was quite cool.

well that one certainly took me a bit of effort to complete. I figured out what I needed to do quickly enough but getting the timing right to place the portals mid-jump took a fair bit of effort, great fun though
one suggestion though, maybe use a glass ceiling so you can look down on the turret from above and get a good view of finally defeating your nemesis

Wow ! This is a great bouncing map, challenging and inventive with only few items. i was stuck the first time i had played this one, but it seem that my skills have grow up ;) Good work man !

Nice:) for some reason that solution is easier to see than the intended one, but thankfully still takes a little thought. I fixed it to the point where I needed to button bash, I hoped people would give up and look for an easier way, but alas no, people seem to enjoy button bashing:). Not being too skilled at ninja moves, I had a hard time with this. I'm glad you updated to remove my little shortcut. I finally solved with a bit of ninja flying. I started a bounce between the portal pit on the side and the flip panel. Managed to shoot a portal in the ceiling over the entrance. After bouncing up there, I hit the ceiling over the flip panel with a portal and squatted. Started an infinite drop with the gel and the rest is history. Very good map Thank you.

I got out and then watched your demo. I sure didn't do it the intended way. I jumped from above on top of the glass then made a run for the exit. I recommend you extend the glass up higher in front. Wish I had seen the correct way. It looked cool. Thanks and I'll see ya round the workshop.

Hi Geneosis, I tried to eliminate that solution, its is still possible but rather chalenging to pull off now. The turret trick is cool, the only thing to bear in mind if you use it is that you cant spawn turrets under funnels, they tend to commit suicide if you do:) Thanks for playing

Okay so the infinite fall + bounce was not the expected solution as I thought ^^ That's what I did anyway...
Oh and I was wondering if the funnel acting as a time freeze on turrets was some kind of Hammer edit... But it seems that it works for any turret, I learnt something ^^

Very nice and clean test. It took me much longer than I'd like to admit, it was clear what to do but to get that one portal in place somehow escaped me while I did weird bouncing of the useless kind. Not a problem with the map, just with me. Thumbs up.

re-tested:
on numerous attempts, the portal goes central, on the flip panel.
got it sideways, occasionaly. but still central.(can't get it nearer the glass)
so with the glass also lowered, & portable cieling higher.
I think you have stopped the unintended solution completely. SUCCESS :)
only very minor thing, is you can hit the entrance. (from above)
(I would think about pushing it back 1 tile)
but not a big issue, & easily avoided. (just a perfection thing)
I agree with you about how helpfull, a video can be.
but to explain how to solve an exploit, I have built a small mechanism
& taken a screenshot, in the editor, before now.
yes, screenshots in the editor work as well, as in game.
good for quick explanation, if words alone can't help.

mood3rd, I agree videos are much more convenient for players, the trouble is I dont have the setup to make them at the moment. Personally I dont mind downloading and playing demos, one demo can be worth a thousand words:). Am updating after I post this, hopefully for the last time. I did raise the ceiling by the entrance, it serves a double purpose of making the intended solution easier and the exploit harder to execute, the glass pannel has also been extended lower. Pictons exploit is now dead and in testing yours was only possible with extended button bashing, I'm content to leave it at that:)

you might think I'm lazy.
but I have left links to video, on youtube, that I record, add text & upload to youtube.
it is then easy & quick, for people to view them.

just an idea.
but if you raised the portable cieling above the entrance.
so you could not see it, from the flip panel.
I think it would stop the exploit. (if you want to ?)

I think I did intended solution, this time.
I put gel on portable areas of pit.
on flip panel.
& in front of entrance.
I put a portal above entrance.
jumped into pit & bounced.
fired portal at pit & went threw & out of portalble area above entrance.
fired portal at flip panel & bounced threw cieling by entrance
& out of flip panel.
going up from flip panel, fired portal at top.
went threw & crouched outside entrance.
then infinite gel drop, to kill turret, cube on exit button, & exit

was that the correct solution ?
ps. if yes, I don't mind you deleting this, to avoid spoiling it for others.

not if you have Bounce Gel at the bottom.
when doing the infinite drop, you leave the portal on the top.
fire the other above the entrance.
then you hit the floor (flip panel)
& bounce up through the top portal & out of the portal, above the entrance.

hope this helps.
but the exploit was a puzzle, in itself. (also good timing essential )

mood3rd, The turret trick isnt something that makes or breaks the map, Its just something extra I want the player to see:) I'm kinda confuesed about your solution now, to solve it with an infinate drop would require ninja reflexes and left you with a portal on the bottom instead of the top. But never mind, using hammer I should be able to extend the glass pannel another half block down, hopefully fixing this problem

it looks like I did the same as Picton.
after trying to bounce back up from the pit & failing.
I shot a portal through the gap in the glass.
while doing an infinate drop.

fair enough about the symmetry.
though I like maps to look good.
if it's a choice between looks & functionality.
I will choose the later. (my personal preference)
both obviously better.
though maybe us 2 cube droppers, to keep the symmetry.
then use the 2nd cube to add another piece of the puzzle ?
if you don't want to add puzzle elements,
the 2nd cube, could activate flip panels, where the portable areas,
above the entrance are, & connect to the exit, to prevent using it as a shield.

Mood3rd - Cant bring myself to break the symmetry of the chamber, middle of the floor will have to do:)
Picton - Your on the the right track but your solution isnt entirely intended (thats why it was a difficult shot). Will work on a fix, thanks again for your feedback

No what i meant was after you put the blue gel on the flipping plate then you go down and have to shoot the top of the tunnel thing there and fall down and try to shoot the roof the glass makes it a bit hard. I was thinking of only having 1 pane there instead of 2

just re-tested, after your update.
better, but I would suggest moving the cube, even closer, to the lower button.
I think more people will 1st try, as you intended.
but moving the cube closer, will cause even more people to do as intended.
your map, your choice, of course.

Hi Picton, glad you enjoyed it:) If you mean the glass ceiling over the button, I cant really remove it as it prevents an exploit, subscribed to yous now.

I just updated the map, no changes to the puzzle. Just a small rearangement try and make people play as I intended them to

This was quite good I really enjoyed watching the helpless turret bouncing around at the end my only suggestion would be to take away the bottom pane of glass so you can shoot the roof easier

Hey Mood3rd, its on my list already just didnt get round to it yet:) I modified the map to try and force the player to be brave, will update when its ready. I thought about doing what you said with the button when I was in early design phase, but didnt want to give the player the cube as a shield. I have something more simple in mind.

my pc died :(
it wont even go to bios.
just makes beeping sounds, nothing on monitor.
so unless I can think of something, I can't update this map.
luckily all other maps backed up :)

Hi Prototype, thanks for playing. Your solution is indeed the intended one. However you were so cautious you missed out on the trick. If you were a bit more daring you would have seen the reason for the funnel. Adding your map to the list now, the lighting did seem a bit weird/inconsistant in testing but I didnt know why, will follow your advice and update. Thanks again

You may want to do a full compile in hammer, click expert in the compile window and select full compile, it will fix the black ring around the elevator and improve the lighting.
