Hi there, I'm new to modding and programming in general, but I've been looking into modding the terra incongnita just like this. I was wondering if you guys might be able to help me find some of the file I'd need to edit in order to make it work. Specifically, where I should look to make it so there's only one tile. Thanks!

So. Maybe most people aren't as picky with my mods as me but this is not compatible with "fast universalis" mod while the not even better one is. There is a file (standardfucsgfx.fxh) in the other one that changes properties of the image making it smaller that overrides the file with the same name in fast universalis. While I solved it by deleting the entire FX folder in "fast universalis" as I only want the feature of disabling all clutter and army models. It could be effective adding the standardfucsgfx.fxh to this mod aswell but with standard measurements to make it easy for it to override other mods that changes the fog of war.

Would take you a minute and make it more accessible. Thanks.

@Redwolf sure, you can use this in your own mods whichever way you like. As for changing map dimensions, have a look at the shader function GetTIColor in game file gfx/FX/standardfuncsgfx.fxh, specifically the two numbers at the end: 1876.0 and 2048.0. For 3x tiling, you want the first number to be 1/3 of map width and the second to be equal to map height. You may need to trial-and-error which way to round the fraction because it might sometimes introduce a visible texture seam.

Hi bucaneer. Firstly, I want to thank you very much for your mod, which although a light one brings light into the game and a nice historical flavor from old maps. I am working on two map mods (Typus Orbis Terrarum and another one I am developing) which use different map sizes than 5632*2048. I was wondering if you would perhaps agree that I include your work in it, with due credit of course, and if you could tell me how to change the gfx files so that the texture is still tiled 2 or 3 times with a reduced map width (i.e 5120*2560).

i really love this map and have it activated since you released it. However, i made some color corrections for myselfe to fit it better for my monitor and added some flavor text. I uploaded it to the workshop here and called it "Even Better Terra Incognita PLUS" . Thanks again for the awesome map!

@ SPICYMeatball, Don't be an ass. Simply go to "..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod", open beter_ti_plus.mod with notepad and change the value after supported_version to "1.15.*.*" instead of "1.14.*.*".
