Question is there a mod out there that say if I make a human civ then I make a second human civ both with the same traits rather than having the game count the two human's as separate races it would just count them as one lager species?

People do read the descriptions, but perhaps they don't quite understand them. Like myself. What I am reading is that all species with less than 10 pops are valid. Some empires have 6,8,5 robots in different species and they didn't merge when I used this mod. So I'm not sure which part of the description I am mis-reading. Apologies if I am doing something wrong.

My bad, then it works cause I checked myself only :)) I like neat ordered species, and mid late game, conquering people makes your species list looks like Babylon. Cheers

It only merges stuff if there's something to merge into (in an AI empire) and if the said empire has pops which fall under the specified criteria. It doesn't state anywhere this is for player empire though.

Well, sometimes older mods work for the current version too, so you want to test if it works or not. Also I might misunderstand how it works, I tried merging all robots in all countries including mine, but it doesn't seem to work.

Do people read descriptions? Sometimes it's a matter of not reading how the mod works and sometimes it's not seeing if the mod is updated for 3.8.

Not really. It only takes effect for species with < 10 pops.

@Khan ! Better Performance & Utilities does this for both player or AI species or both. This mod is much lighter though as that one has a lot of other functionality.

Why I can’t merge 10 robots of type A with 5 of type B, and get 15 of type A in MY player’s empire?
When you conquer 3-4 AI empires and have 100+ robot types, managing in race page makes gameplay suffering.

You still haven't read the description and understood at all what this mod does. Never once did I state that:
- it's for player empires
- that it merges organic pops into robots (only robots into robots)
- that it merges different species into other different species

It worked as designed last time I checked (read the description again), it does depend on the number of pops to determine whether they will be merged. As for the number of countries displayed it shows only nations you've encountered. For the rest you can study the code.

Unfortunately, the mod does not work at the moment, representatives of races and robots do not unite. Among other things, if you select the option "Change in one country", your country is not listed. I would like to write a similar mod. Author, could you explain the meaning of your algorithm, how it combines inhabitants and robots into one species?
More specifically, I would like a mod that changes heaps of different robots into one base type (without touching traits), which will be displayed as one single species in your empire (not counting its sub-variants).

Speculations never help. This mod cannot conflict with anything as it does not care about traits or whatever. The problem is with scoping on 3.0 as they changed the API. count_owned_pops renamed to count_owned_pop and such. Replacing these was not enough, fixing scoping was also required. I don't need to mention I don't play the game anymore I think. If anyone wants they're free to take over this mod, just let me know here.

Welp, so I have to say it isn't working as intended (or there's a major conflict as Black Goat said)... The villain empire only in my current save, the Vuzrunians, have 29 variations.

Does it take a while to work? When I click any of the options in the menu, the window reappears and nothing happens. Waited for a few months but also no changes.

It was never inteneded to be used for the player. Check auto gene assimilation for player options.

Been told by the DMM author that the documentation provided for DMM was wrong (as it was based on initial dev diary). I've updated this mod based on this info.

Hi, regarding robots:
Would be really nice if there was an option for your own country to move existing robots into a subspecies of the robots you have the most of. That way you could change them into each other as you want by being the corresponding price in the special project.

It was not intended to be used on yourself. If you really want feel free to edit merge_ai_species_main_menu.txt and comment out where you find is_ai = yes part and you'll be able to find your nation as well. Doing so will void your warranty though.

Aw, I can't chose my own empire? I just want to merge the synth species as one in my empire =(
