what you need is a gas cracker.... ie: very much like a furnace.. a second item called a gas separation column, and a third item called a gas discharge concentrator.... the rest we already have.
wildsoft 21 Jun, 2022 @ 8:57pm
the item should be a tube about 20 feet high with siphning vents at each foot to simulate gas column separations. each should in effect be its own atmospheric gas filter. concentrations should be on par with specific gravity of the gas. you could use it like a furnace with muiple outputs and two inputs. one for the suspension medium, like oxygen or co2. and this would be at the reactive temperature for the process. and the nitrogen you can use to flush the system out inertly. you could also maintain various safety checks on the outputs to make sure they dont exceed the flash point temp and mixture concentrations.you could use the heat exchange to concentrate the end result. and pump the chemicals into sealed high pressure containers... such as liquid for liquid hydrocarbons. and gas for the high end gas off products.

What good would that do? :) you can do it is you want. plastics should have a non simple approach in my view its not silicon...its not even hydrogen, its a long chain hydrocarbon. you dont get hydrocarbon out of a printer. :) if so we wouldn't need gas pumps and 7 dollar a gallon costs. :) anyways having a methane rich atmosphere is titan makes for an idea cracking station... so many hydrocarbons start as simple chained hydrocarbons that are cracked(rapid heating) and slowly gassed off. certain acids mixed and you get more complicated polyfibres...md other space age materials. co2 substrates as in super critical fluids for the production of exotic metallic alloys. id think you might need more metals like beryllium lithium and calcium... anyways i just wish it was a bit more complex lol.

I hope you've added this comment to the suggestions in stationeers discord. I can port it over for you if you want.
wildsoft 21 Jun, 2022 @ 1:05am
first of all, I don't really have guests on the pc or run a server so it would never come up for me as far as constancy. I just find the wrecks in game by enabling the wrecks option, naturallty the item is random... sometimes it shows. also i tend to use the more extreme variants such as continuous storm. This game most definally needs more wrecks, however it is sad they might remove it in favor of optimizing. id actually prefer the wrecks if they can just make a load thats up to date i think the consistancy thing would be solved. id also like to see devices that do mechanical things such as rotating motors and such...gas separations via gravity colum is a common practice in refinerys... they should model this. you could use for example a cooling tower to remove x and keep the hydrogen simply by cooling it under pressure. some ideas.

For clarification, @wildsoft, how are you implementing the wreck? Is this played on Loulan? or custom worlds where you add in the Loulan wreckages?
sunrazor1  [author] 20 Jun, 2022 @ 8:08pm
When I deprecate a mod, I purposefully do not delete it from Steam. The worst I would do is upload an empty mod folder if the mod is problematic. The reason I do this is that I have known deleted mods to cause problems (corruptions) to players who have subscribed to a mod that is missing. Fortunately for me, I caught on to this type of corruption very early when I was just getting started with modding.
sunrazor1  [author] 20 Jun, 2022 @ 8:05pm
May I ask how exactly do you implement this mod? The main reason I deprecated this was issues with having duplicate or inconsistent start conditions (e.g. what guests start with is different than what the host starts with).

However, it should be noted that THIS mod was created long before the developers added in the in-game custom world option. This in mind, it may be worth reinstating some of these deprecated mods to allow players to create their own custom worlds while implementing these start-only mods.

Let me know your opinion! Would love to hear back. Thanks!

even if, depreciated.... im playing downgraded Stationeers..
wildsoft 19 Jun, 2022 @ 9:58pm
its really wonderful addition.... even as a wreck it has saved my "hiney" many occasions.
sunrazor1  [author] 19 Jun, 2022 @ 9:01pm
Thanks for the feedback. This is a very old mod, as you can see that it's deprecated and I no longer support it. That "wreck" was originally one of my completed moon bases that I got bored of and decided to toss in some grenades to before converting it to a composition ("wreck").
wildsoft 19 Jun, 2022 @ 7:31pm
I can't play Stationeers start without your mods, well done. i really like that you tagged your wrecks as "sunrazor1 was here" :)

I've tried this occasionally but never got it to quite work right with the modstart worlds even with shuffling the workshop files so the start locations were "colored and easy to read". Truthfully I'd rather it just be integrated in the mod-start worlds, and if there are enough complaints I'd rather have separate workshop items like "external start" for what the modstart ones currently are. Just my opinion though.
Hate Bear 26 Jul, 2020 @ 10:11am
I don't use other mod start condition., and I think it's a good idea. I don't know why everyone else doesn't tend to use Discord necessarily, but I feel like I need to do drive-by posting on there because they don't respect user privacy enough. I've been looking at a bunch of different chat programs that have better privacy for users and I've been trying to convince people I know to use them (without much success, unfortunately).
sunrazor1  [author] 25 Jul, 2020 @ 8:02pm
Hey all, I'd like to know how many of you use your own mod start conditions to complement the More Worlds? If NO ONE, then I will integrate this mod into the respective worlds that the start conditions belong to. Your feedback is VERY important to me and very much appreciated! I don't get nearly enough feedback. Thanks!
Hate Bear 24 May, 2020 @ 11:49pm
Yeah, I had to do some research to realize that you can throw wheat in the furnace now. I think you have to have a mod to turn other organics into carbon though--at least that's what another mod author said.

So we basically have to forgo making almost any batteries and make sure to make a hydroponic station and I think 4 steel plates for a centrifuge (for a recycler) first.
sunrazor1  [author] 21 Mar, 2020 @ 10:48am
@Nomida (Sim) That's the challenge of Pluto. You start with Steel so you can make a hydroponics station -> Grow wheat or other organics that supply carbon -> replace coal with carbon to make steel. Pluto can be survived, but it is exceedingly difficult. Try to focus on making a gas generator.
Nomida (Sim) 25 Feb, 2020 @ 3:08pm
On Pluto, how is steel supposed to be produced? Is something misconfigured with my save? I started with 30 steel, which is not enough to start trading with, and coal is absent AFAIK.
TahYank 6 Dec, 2019 @ 4:34pm
Took me about 8 hours to get a trader called in on Vulcan2. Sick mod though, I love starting with minimal gear.
sunrazor1  [author] 29 Sep, 2019 @ 5:58pm
When you're about to create a new world, if the world names look like a bunch of <NewWorldAreaDiscription>, go to your Workshop in the game, and move the mods up and down above Core. The order does not appear to matter as long you you shuffle them. If you don't do this, you might get the wrong starting conditions. Proper world names should be colorful and easy to read.
Hate Bear 29 Sep, 2019 @ 5:50pm
Neat. I haven't seen it yet.
sunrazor1  [author] 29 Sep, 2019 @ 5:49pm
The Saturn model belongs to Mimas, a world the developers created.
Hate Bear 29 Sep, 2019 @ 5:40pm
On an off note, it's pretty awesome that you got or made a Saturn model.
DOM 7 Sep, 2019 @ 11:12pm
Best mod yet for Stationeers :steamhappy:
Kastuk 7 Sep, 2019 @ 11:33am
Clean start for Creative is nice little addition.
