@Sun Ce of Wu, ea, your mod seems to works without breaking the game, two theaters are just weird.

Compatibility with Enlightenment era is, I think, must have right now, it's kind of essential mod, so if you got time to add it it'll be great.

Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 30 Aug, 2017 @ 1:41pm
@elotar But this doesn't mean that my mod is broken, you just have 2 theatres with completely different effects, an ancient one, and a modern one
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 30 Aug, 2017 @ 1:40pm
@elotar that is because in the enlightment mod they add another building, that is a new theatre. Mine is the renamed amphitheatre. Since the scope of this mod was to remove the term amphitheatre since it was too specific, and enlightment mod was not out, i had no way to have compatibility with it. I should check if i still have the source of my mod, and add some kind of control to prevent the renaming if enlightmen mod is active
elotar 28 Aug, 2017 @ 2:44pm
Argh, unfortunately in doesn't work with one of the reneissance-enlightment era mods - two theaters appear :/

Sad.
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 28 Aug, 2017 @ 6:44am
@elotar i often used my mod and that mod together and if i remember well there are no incompatibility
elotar 24 Aug, 2017 @ 4:38am
Cool mod. Do you have any idea about comparability with this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=177014441&searchtext=art+building

Renaming Amphitheater two times will crash the game?
Ray 12 Sep, 2015 @ 10:53am
@Sun Ce of Wu yeah it's on my end then. I've got a ton of mods so one of them could be interfering somehow. Thanks for the help!
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 12 Sep, 2015 @ 3:52am
@Ellie I tried the mod alone in my end but it seems all ok, I can freely move great works between theatres and other GW slots
BaoBaB 9 Sep, 2015 @ 10:28am
Very nice thank you
Ray 12 Jul, 2015 @ 10:45am
@author None that I know of. Culture overview is fine as it is. I do have some civ mods that
add great work buildings, however. Like how the Assyrians have their royal library and what not.
Don't know if that is the problem. I also could do some testing of my own, like disabling all of my mods except yours.
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 11 Jul, 2015 @ 11:16am
I'm sorry for the lateness in my replies.
@Ex-InvaderRay I don't know why the mod causes this behaviour, since i edited only the text associated with the theater, making no changes to the building. I'll investigate as soon as possible (I'm under exams at university in this period). Are you using mods that edit the culture overview?

@all who don't like the name Theatre
I've chosen to use the name theatre since is the best fitting for the scope and era of the building. All the other names I had in mind are adapt for a renaissance era building ("Auditorium" or "Playhouse"), or too much civ-specific (Odeon or Theatrum), so they are not fit in the mod, so I'll leave the name theatre
Ray 4 Jul, 2015 @ 8:19pm
I have a slight problem with this one and I'm not sure why I have it or how to fix it, but the theater does not appear in the culture overview. Basically any Great Work of Writing that goes into the theater I cannot move. Any ideas of how to fix this or?
RustyMerc 27 Oct, 2014 @ 10:23pm
looks like it's been awhile since anyone talked on here... oh well, ANYWAYS... Won't changing the name of the amphitheater to theatre interfere with the current ingame theatre because it'd get confused?... it's like the 3rd or so happiness buidling you get (that you can do in every city), somewhere around the renassance era? I was kind of scrolling through for happiness related mods for those moments when i want to run high food boost games--because there are moments i start choking for a little bit real bad when it starts getting high & all my breather's will last for just a little while but it goes back quickly due to the way i'll play those specific games. ... i deviated from the subject a little but sure you'll understand.
lshipp 21 Apr, 2014 @ 6:52am
I think I'll start by using the code from theater of dionysus as practical example.

I really like this mod, BTW. I use it all the time.

Not sure I'm comfortable putting you to so much effort re: Moulin Rouge.
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 21 Apr, 2014 @ 1:24am
@lshipp
I thought you wanted to make it also usable if someone activated your guide as a mod (like the ranged unit buildings you already have), so that's why I told you to make a different wonder XD
If you want only to show the code, it's ok to keep the Theatre, if you want to make also functional, I'd prefer to go with the Moulin Rouge. In this case, I could help with the art
lshipp 20 Apr, 2014 @ 4:41pm
As I give this more thought I think perhaps I did not make my intentions clear. I was thinking I would not make the Theater of Dionysus functional as part of my Buildings Guide mod. I was thinking I would use the XML files and perhaps the mp3 files as examples, with explanations on the two audiosound game tables, and instructions on what actions need to be taken within ModBuddy to get the audio files to play when a wonder is constructed, for example.

This is the steam url of my Buildings Guide mod:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=242403041

I'll wait while you take an opportunity to examine what I am doing in my mod, and let you decide if it's OK for me to use parts and portions of your work as practical audio-adding examples that are known to function in-game.

So far as co-creating a World Wonder mod, I would certainly not decline such a nice offer, but I don't wish that you should feel burdened with a firm comittment or offer of such.
lshipp 20 Apr, 2014 @ 5:21am
Well, that's intriguing. Though if you look at the images I've used as mod thumbnail images you can see just how badly I suck at artwork. I'm afraid the icons and splash I would make would look like utter steaming poo on a stick.

Real concern would be that no one would ever subscribe except the 200 or so people who are already subscribed to Buildings Guide because they're interested in trying their hand at modding. Though it's not that big a deal to add a stand-alone mod for the wonder by itself. That's just a matter of half an hour of work in ModBuddy once the files are done.
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 20 Apr, 2014 @ 1:13am
@lshipp
I think it could be better doing a new wonder instead, so that people can use your building guide and this mod together? Some time ago I was thinking to make the Moulin Rouge, that gives as a free Great Work of Music Offenbach's Can Can, but I hadn't the time to do it. We could add that to your mod, so we have a perfect triad (Firaxis Parthenon, my Theatre and your Moulin Rouge for art, writing and music
lshipp 16 Apr, 2014 @ 7:01am
would it be okay for me to use your Theatre of Dionysus and its free great work in my Buildings Guide mod, as a practical example of how to add audio files to world wonders and great works ?

@Ulixes
E ovviamente buon lavoro e buoni esami ^_^
Ulixes 4 Dec, 2013 @ 10:13am
Grazie!

Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 4 Dec, 2013 @ 1:35am
@Ulixes
Per me va benissimo, basta citarmi per la creazione di questo mod. Sono curioso di vedere il tuo mod completo ;D
Ulixes 30 Nov, 2013 @ 6:52am
Ottimo lavoro, davvero ben fatto! Sto creando un massiccio overhaul per civ5, chiedo il permesso di poter includere questo piccolo gioiello, grazie in anticipo per la risposta!

Great mod. There is a gramer eror in the arena's description, but apart from that it's a great.
buzzshiza 22 Nov, 2013 @ 10:30am
Thanks for this exellent mod, it's very well done.
Arcturus Selen 5 Nov, 2013 @ 11:11am
@Sun Ce of Wu
I see what you mean actually. Also thanks for updating the description. Great mod by the way, and the wonders really add to the early game.
Sun Ce of Wu  [author] 30 Oct, 2013 @ 11:50am
@aguerreschi85 The fall patch it's a patch that is automatically downloaded some days ago (when i made this was in beta, hence the explicit request for the patch). Also it's not written, but it can be seen in tags that requires Brave New World (at least for Theatre of Dionysus, and the text for theatre is for the BNW version of the Amphitheatre)
Netheriel 30 Oct, 2013 @ 11:45am
I just download the mod, but I can't activate it.
I read that fall patch is needed, what is this?
Galgus 22 Oct, 2013 @ 9:22pm
Isn't the Theatre of Dionysus a lot like the Parthenon, but with less cost and a bit better?

I think its theme should be changed, and the culture bonus on the Flavian Ampitheatre seems to be a bit excessive.

At first I didn't get why the Colosseum gave food, but the quote seems to explain it: free food at the games.

Very good flavor.

@XXDahlXX
I'm Italian. So I might have that wrong. But since Colosseum is also the latin name for that, I prefer that term instead of coliseum. But from what I know coliseum is the generic term for stadium, but I don't know for sure. With this said, I only used the term Colosseum in the historical info of the Flavian Amphitheatre, so I think that (whoever is right) it's still a minor problem.
Dahl 18 Oct, 2013 @ 12:54pm
The Roman version is Spelled Coliseum. The one akin to stadium is "Colosseum." Please get t right.

Enilightening mod which helps in exciting the first eras in the game, love how you emphasized on the difference in the structures. I don't know about others, but the wonders seem well balanced. Great job!

bello
Topar The Bull 18 Oct, 2013 @ 1:23am
Very nice mod. Historically, this all seems great and very accurate. Balance wise, I worry about the Theater of Dionysus, because it essentially does the same thing as the Parthenon, which is in the same tech as it (differences - +2 happiness, -1 culture, work of literature rather than work of art, +50 hammers). I think the Theater is more powerful, as any happiness boost at that stage of the game is really useful, and great writers are more useful early than great artists are. You might consider changing it up a little to prevent it from looking like a carbon copy of the Parthenon - perhaps two work of writing slots (no free great work, though), +3 happiness, and +4 culture? As for the Anfiteatro, that seems fine, if a bit strong - again, happiness at that part of the game is super useful.
