i wish i could make a mod like that, too.. It's a bundle of two arrows essentially, if im remembering correctly one firest, and then the other a couple seconds later, but they're each individual entities, so they both do the full damage that's possible from the bolts

Also, Are the bolts seperate from each other? Or is it in a bundle like in nock to tip. Cause in nock to tip it was like you were firing a bundle of arrows that was one massive arrow and did a little extra damage.

I wish there was a shotgun crossbow out there that would just fire a spray of bolts in a spread. Another cool one would be a special bolt that ricochets. Alas, I don't have modding experience and I can't make my dreams come true. * Hint, Hint*

It technically fires one bolt of ammuntion but sends out two to do damage so... you could farm bolts with it if you wanted, but it's not guaraneed to be both at once

Question, if it fires 2 bolts or arrows, does that mean any you loot back off corpses, is twice the amout also, as liike in normal amounts would ?

I have all the smithing perks now, so perhaps my game is corrupted by some old mod that left junk data behind. I removed them all, yet the prototype bow remains greyed-out. Thanks for trying to help me. I'm going to uninstall the game, delete all my skyrim folders, and then reinstall it. I'll let you know if it works.

Ah... that might be a problem on my side :\ I may have forgot to remove the perk requirement... Worst that happens, just use the console commands to give yourself the perk, I guess

I keep getting a "You lack the perk to improve magical items" message when I attempt to improve the prototype crossbow. I've done the dawnguard missions to learn how to make dwarven crossbows, and I have the improve magical items smithing perk, and I'm up to orc smithing (71 smithing skill). What exactly am I missing in terms of perk skills?

Check out the Throwing Weapons Redux mod... it adds throwing knives, axes, all those... and javelines! A fancy spear, really, and you can use a shield with it. No stabbing with them though :( only throwing

i am useing my friennds account.I have one question why has no one made a spear or sythe mod it cant be that hard to make these things so come on a nice spear you can use with a shield people

@ One-Eye Magoo: Yeah, I don't really know how to make it work that way, that it fires them about a second later haha... They fire at the same time, and arrive at the same time, so it looks like one bolt, sorry XD
The prototype thing is just supposed to be to say that it's never been done before by the Dawnguard, or anyone. Just a fancy name on it, really :) and thank you!

can you make a mod ware you have two swords on your back, for right and left hand

The second picture showed 2 bolts facing left - my fault, it just looked like those 2 were sat on the table, but they weren't really there? But I still can't actually see 2 enhanced dwarven bolts hitting onto a tree. However, when I tried to pull them off, they actually fell off, 1, and then the other! What is the 'Prototype' name mean? A really neat mod, by the way, sorry if I tried to confuse you!!

The crossbow fires the both at once, so it looks like it's only one at a time >_> if you were to fire them into a pillar of wood or something, you would be able to loot two bolts off the wall. Which bolts on the table do you mean?

I found the book, read it, got the crossbow and fired it. It only fired one at a time. I tried it onto a bookcase door, only one bolt can be seen. Have I missed something? Btw, the Castle had been ransacked by me previously - the book and the chest were there, but the 2 bolts were not there on the table. (Unless I didn't see them.... I'll go back and check) Neat mod though!!
