Hello all! I made a submod for this great camping mod "Tents" by the legend oi__io! It adds research, additional material requirements, and build menu organization to fit within the Interactive World : Kenshi+ mod survival ecosystem.

Changing ingredients on fcs is easy enough, i set to sleeping bags + fabrics.

Tent kits costing nothing to make sounds a little bit broken. At least make it cost like 1 fabric or something to craft, rather than just magicking it into existence out of thin air.

mod is great because it simplifies camping, Kenshi is a very limited game with bad AI and bad UI, anything that helps against those is very welcome

Good and well needed mod, but I just think it was an oversight for you to make the kit maker, refund the building material after use, and at least not make the whole mechanic optional for the player. I was absolutely sold until I saw that I was basically cheating. You can come at the logic from any angle, but the fact of the matter is that nothing so useful should just be *free* in Kenshi. I regrettably have to uninstall for that reason.

Super bummed about this.

Love the mod but if my guy is too tall then he can't move away from the tent and gets stuck on the tent

Your mode is great, but can you do mode with other variety of materials? I mean, if you want to build a tent, you need two leathers, two fabrics and 5 sleeping bags for the big tent, 3 sleeping bags, 1 leather, 1 fabric for medium, and 2 sleeping and leather for small one. And also can you add the huge tent for 10 person? And save the time recovery for sleeping bags. Please! I can even donate a little!

That sounds like the good 'ol nav mesh issue. Have you tried to rebuild your nav mesh with Ctrl+Shift+F11?

If you play with default settings, you will not get 100% materials back when you dismantle ANY structure that require more than 1 materials. I wrote about it in the change notes .

Hey, quick issue I have.

When I dismantle the med/large tent I don't get the full amount of kits back; usually -2 or -3. is this in intentional?

Sorry man, this mod is not compatible with other mods that alter starting techs. It is meant to come unlocked at start. The only way for you to make it work is by changing the starting tech to include the tents. It's very easy to do in FCS. Just need to add the tech in whichever start you want to play.

If you need help with FCS, I suggest joining Kenshi Discord or Genesis Discord and ask for help over there. I heard they're super helpful with modding. Good luck!

I do use a mod which alters the starting techs, so i cant build those tents - and i havent found any blueprint yet. Load order did not help sadly. any idea? (The mod is interactive world)

Isn't this mod kinda broken?
So lets make a comparison:
Sleeping Bag:
-600 cats per bag
-5KG per sleeping spot
-uses much space in the inventory
This mod:
-100 Cats one time pay
-2KG per sleeping spot
-uses less space.
-acid rain protection

So its literly the upgrade to a sleeping bag?

I see. The kit maker will not create town so I assume you can place it anywhere just like a campfire. I didn't try placing it in a player town during testing since I intend it to be used out in the wild. An overlook on my part. Sorry about that.

You can always build a kit maker in a safe space outside your base and make as many tent kits as you want in one go and then keep the tent kits in your storage for future needs.

Is there any particular reason you can't make the kit at your base before exploring? The kit is free, stackable, smaller and lighter than sleeping bag, and you only need 1 building material to kickstart the process on the go.

I haven't played the game in a long time and when I made this mod I only tested in on a roaming nomadic squad of less than 6 people so I might miss something obvious.

This would be a lot more useful if I didn't need to build the kit maker away from my base. I'd rather build the kits I need at my base before I go out, rather than carry building materials with me, and spend ages crafting enough kits for my squad to have shelter. It's turned out to be more practical to stick with the old sleeping bag and fabric to pop down a mercenary tent. :[

I tried it all 3 of the tents. I changed the default output rate (I doubled every value to get 8x healing, like i've done with the vanilla beds) but it didn't do anything. Will try importing. Thanks for responding :)

Which tent did you tried it on? If you change the output rate from default (4,12,20) to something else it should work. I no longer have the game installed so can't do a quick test. Maybe try it on a new game to confirm? If it works on new game, consider importing your save file.

Is there any way to increase the healing rate of the tents? I can chance the healing rate of the vanilla sleeping beds by changing the output rate, but doing the same with the tents of this mod doesn't seem to work.

Quote from my previous comment regarding acid protection:

"OK, I've done some testing near Black Desert City. The survival tents DOES offer acid protection but not at 100%.

If you're not wearing any acid protection gear while sleeping in any of the tents, your health will still drop but at a much reduced rate compared to when you're outside. If you're wearing at least 10% acid protection gear, your health will drop even less, sometimes even goes up tiny bit over a long period of time. If you're wearing more than 10% acid protection gear, you will very slowly heal over time.

Conclusion: If you're going to acid rain zone, wear protective gear. Tents can only help so much.

Also, if you're not sleeping and just standing inside the tent, the protection will depend on how tall your characters are. If they're taller than the tents, they're technically outside. The tents are meant for sleeping, not as a general shelter. Vanilla tents are better for that purpose."

ive seen some people say it already, and i checked ingame, and yes, The tents provide no protection on acid rain as advertised. I still find it a good mod for healing my 30 party trading group, but this just means i need to be more careful in skelly desert
