From your talker addon, which one of them talks the most? I just like hearing them having a conversation or voiceover; I've never heard it before.

I plan on uploading the update's talker as a new addon soon. I also plan on uploading a second talker addon shortly after. If you wish to use this one, that's up to you. I'll be sure to explain what is different from the update.

Still, what you've done surely takes a lot of effort and I know this will be nothing but incredible to experience. I have nothing but thanks and adoration, and if you ever do find those L4D1 lines, you know what to do!

I'd love to talk more, and hear everything you've done, but it's probably best I wait until the update and find it for myself. Plus, I hate to flood this comment section lol

So glad you were chosen to work on the team, I always felt like this addon didn't get the attention it deserved, but now that it's an official part of the game, playing through the same campaigns is going to be very refreshing. You've done a huge service here, and deserve the respect.

The sequence of voicelines for the churchguy scenario has been changed. I wish I could do more, but I would need the L4D1 beta voicelines. I hope they're still around somewhere.

That's the kind of shit I adore! Being able to use what was already given to add to something else.

I just have one concern -- What was done to church guy? That's probably my favorite dialogue sequence of any chapter, just because of how great he was played out. Has there been any improvements or changes there?

One of my favorite examples is for Coach, originally, in Swamp Fever - Chapter 3, if he were to reach the plank first, he'll say "Once it's down, let's go!". That line has been moved to where he lowers the bridge on The Parish - Chapter .

Yeah, despite the improvements I haven't made in the update, there will be a massive improvement to detail and character for each survivor.

All of the lines that are in I have fit as best as I could without reusing any of them (that are directly related to the story) and I have also moved around lines to where they are supposed to play. I hope you enjoy them!

Also, I came here literally because I remembered this addon was a beautiful thing. I was gonna ask if you were going to include the new voicelines, but it looks like I no longer need to. I'm so happy to finally be getting more personality from every character, oficially.

Not just the lines themselves, but the details and the context in which they will be used. I wish I had the time to do everything, but at least everything will be unlocked for mappers.

That's right, a more completed version of this talker will be part of the main update, the accessory has also been through many other adjustments and improvements and will also be included, there will be no more need to manually install it.

Also, this will also no longer cause stringtable overflow errors, rejoice talker users!

It's because Dark Carnival remix never did their intros via the talker scripts, it is done via Ambient_generic entities that plays only certain sounds. No subtitles.

Alright, apparently it just doesn't work well with one of the custom maps I have installed (Dark Carnival Remix). Did a very quick test and it works perfectly fine on the vanilla maps. How strange.

The order from top to bottom matters, recommend that the accessory is first on the list.

Hey, just want to point out that for some reason the Subtitles for the custom lines don't even show up for me and the survivors don't even move their mouths during the custom lines. Did I install it wrong or is it supposed to be like this?

If the map is missing stringtables, then it will need to be built manually without the talker installed. To do that, you'd need to make the addon itself not a vpk, drag the vpk into vpk.exe in your l4d2 game directory, load the map up manually, then type "stringtabledictionary" into the console. Then replace the map and add it back into a vpk and you're done. :p

There are only two cases in which you must disable this talker in custom campaigns: The campaign in question has talker scripts themselves. Or the custom campaign crashes as a result of stringtable overflow errors. (This variant has a workaround)

Custom campaigns shouldn't be an issue unless, for whatever reason, that campaign has talker scripts within their vpk as well. In most cases, Custom campaigns use logic_choreographed_scene and/or ambient_generic entities which almost never warrants players to disable this talker beforehand.

Will the big update have a fix for Zoey's voice lines in Death Toll's finale? The only thing that's really stuck out like a sore thumb to me are some bits of dialogue that use her old voice actor.

yeah i'm good i fixed mine, i installed this mod, then reinstalled the mod i was using, which was ion's vocalizer and it works fine for me

I followed all the extra installation steps properly and i'm on a local server but for some reason with this installed all the default vocalizers just dont work? like its completely silent when i select a response.
